Ed002 list worries me a little too.
For our stated preference for young British talent there is only 8 (AWB, Aaron's, Maguire, Rice, Longstaff, Sancho, James, Sessegnon) out of 47! that we are said to be interested in.
per Ed's comments I think we are only likely to land AWB, and James.
If spurs are balking at paying £25m for Sessegnon we should be showing interest.
Perhaps we should be widening the net?

Hi Ed002. I didn’t mean in your information, but it is being reported elsewhere that Spurs are balking at the asking price. I know this is likely just paper talk, that’s why I said If they are.

How is 8 a bad number, we are talking about england here not someone like france.

But you there is a difference about those "8 British players" Mike. There isn't as much a competition for there signature from other European clubs. Also the number of genuinely top class British talent isn't that high and even then 8 out of 47 is decent when you factor in that other 39 players come from around the world.

CSM by that I mean we are said to be focusing on British talent. Yet out of 47 players we are ‘showing interest in’ only 8 of those are British. I would have expected the ratio to be higher if that’s our focus, wouldn’t you?

Perth. The better quality players are foreign, there aren’t many world class British players so it’s not surprising and nothing new.

why would it be higher, there is only so much talent in britain. There is a reason why they are such an average international side with 1 atmost 2 worldclass players.

I think you’ve believed something you’ve read that isn’t true mate, take everything in the papers and on twitter with a pinch of salt, it will make you feel better I assure you. We are looking at some young English players, 8 seems more than enough to me, do you want us to just sign 15 English players and no foreign players or something?
