I have seen several posters wanting to ship Pogba out. So I wanted to point out the current lack of quality in the squad and importance of Pogba.

Firstly,
Our centre backs are not reliable and cannot play the ball out from the back.
Our full backs rarely make overlapping runs forward. Moreover they can't whip in a proper cross.
Our midfielders apart from Pogba cannot pass the ball forward or create any chances.
Rashford is still not clinical enough. Rom and Sanchez are not fit often. And Martial is lazy. Mata and Lingard are too inconsistent.
These guys turn up only few times a season which shows a lack of serious quality in the squad.

Because of these above problems, Pogba has a lot of responsibility.
He needs to come deep to receive the ball and make incisive pass forward.
Our great run under Ole coincided with Pogba being in top form. Creating, scoring, making runs into the box, etc, .
But once he suffered a dip in form the whole team suffered.
There was no "saviour" to lift us up.
Such is the importance of Pogba.

Imagine Griezmann, Mbappe, Cristiano or other top forwards who keep making runs in behind and are clinical.
Pogba will pick pin point passes to them. Without him in the team, I believe we would have finished in the bottom half of the table.
Yes he has his defeciences, but so do the other players.
Furthermore, first time in 3 seasons he has been played in his natural role.
He is a match winner and he has showed it this season.

Therefore, I believe that building a team around him is the right way forward.

Talented player with an extremely poor attitude. The last few months of the season showcased just how poor an attitude he has.

Like a rotten apple, it will spread and infect a lot more.

He could pin point pass 1000 of em and it still wouldn't change my opinion. We need more honest grafting, hard working and talented players.

And to top it all off, he doesn't want to be here anyway.

Thanks Paul but your talents will be much more suited elsewhere.

Couldn't care less about his (potential) ability, his attitue is terrible resulting in poor work rate and division in the dressing room.

He is not a kid any more, he is a man, at his peak, but he behaves like a teenager. wanting to drive his own car to matches rather than on the team coach is a perfect example. Utterly undeserving to wear a United shirt let alone have the team built around him or wear the captain's armband.

If the fans are toxic then Pogba must be radioactive. Get rid before we lose him on a free again or he demands 500k a week in his next contract. He has no loyalty, he thinks he is bigger than his team mates, the manager and the club.

All valid points but it comes down to one question. Does Pogba genuinely want to be here? There are suggestions that he doesn't.

30 May 2019 07:28:18
That's all well and good, but you are forgetting one simple fact - he doesn't want to be at United and his heart is not in it.

Pogba is a luxury player. He plays when he wants to an expects others to do his hard work whole he swans about doing the 'showy' bits. Hi is our most creative player, but also loses the ball than any other player and then can't be bothered to even try to win it back.

Maybe it's an age or generational thing, but I support a football team, not individuals ( not referring to you Trueredevil necessarily) .

Pogba could be top class, but I don't see it happening here. You cannot ' build a team around' someone who wants to be elsewhere whenever he - or in his case his agent - feels like it.

Pogba is not the cause of our problems, but he certainly isn't the solution either. Bending over backwards to keep him will be a mistake and will only serve to reinforce just how desperate we are - and in my view will also emphasize how we are still putting commercial matters above football matters.

Get rid I say, and I won't miss him for a second.

Nobody is doubting pogba’s ability. They are doubting his attitude and desire to be at the club. When you have someone that puts in as little effort as he does then what’s the point of keeping him? The minimum requirement for any footballer is out a shift in. He’s meant to be a leader of the dressing room and half the time he can’t be arsed. That rubs off on the others. Shift him on and bring someone who actually wants to play for us.

There’s no doubting his quality True Red, It’s his attitude that’s the problem, he’s a bad apple and a negative influence on the other players. It’s bad enough that he had a supposed hand in Jose’s demise, but he’s also acting up under Ole. He wants out, regardless of what we want, so let him go and get in someone we can relate to and admire for the qualities that make manchester united players of the past stand out.

No doubt about Pogba’s talent and ability.

However there are massive questions over his application, desire and commitment.

It appears that Pogba doesn’t want to stay and if true then we need to move him on the same as any other player that doesn’t want to stay at Utd.

Worse situation is to keep an unhappy player who does not perform at their potential.

TRD, the Pogdebate has been done to death on this site.

Why in the first place would you want to build a team around anyone who's heart is somewhere else, doesn't work hard enough and is far too inconsistent?

If you want to slag everyone else for being lazy/ inconsistent, Pogba has been the same as well. There is a serious lack of quality in the squad but Pogba with all the talent isn't making any difference either. And the word responsibility has nothing to do with Pogba.

And you are trying to make it look like our great run under OGS was a one-man Pogba show, which isn't the case. It was the front three along with Herrera and Pogba combined that made the difference. It was indeed the injuries to our front 3 coincided with Herrera not playing that really hurt us.

Yes, Pogba is our most talented midfielder and he has scored goals and provided assists for us and he is a match winner when he plays his game, but most often than not he doesn't seem to have the hunger/ passion to be the best and is far too inconsistent for United's liking.

For me, if he stays he needs to really work hard for the team and really need to step up his own game before looking for lack of quality in others. This coming season would be make/ break for him at United.

30 May 2019 09:47:13
Spent more time walking than any other player in the league last season. More importantly, has been looking to leave pretty much ever since he arrived. Next.

30 May 2019 10:28:01
TRD too many generalisations and over simplifications.
If he wants to stay and lead the team he should say that and show it by his actions. But I’m afraid he doesn’t. All of the comments above support that view of him.

30 May 2019 11:00:07
Yes I agree with his attitude problem at times, but I believe the media has blown it to a different level.
I do not recollect of such issues when he was at Juventus.

16 goals from midfield is a really good output considering his dip in form towards the end of the season.
Recruit more quality players and he will be even better imo.

OGS himself has reiterated his desire to build the team around Pogba. He may have seen something in him right?

30 May 2019 11:29:31
True Red. Pogba is a virus, i do mot agree with Mourinho on anything, but on this, i agree entirely.
And if OGS does not see this, then I'm afraid he should be shown the door too.
Pogba is not irreplaceable, in fact, if you get Bruno Fernandes in, he'll score as many and assist more than Pogba and he'll put in a shift every match as he's a proper team player.

30 May 2019 11:58:43
If rashford, lukaku or martial took our penalties all season the story might be different. Pogba had a lot of penalty goals (and misses) this season.

Very simple, is he in 100% or not. Problem is, I don't think he will ever be in 100% over a full season. Maybe a run of games here and there.

30 May 2019 12:42:22
So we're back to buying x, y, z to make pogba better.

Lots of talent, little application. He should be told to make his mind up and if he wants to go to put in a transfer request. The longer this drags on its going affect the rest of our business.

30 May 2019 12:45:21
The media has nothing to do with the way he plays, jogging about throwing his hands up in the air when he gets tackled, showboating when he should be moving the ball,
David Beckham showed more attitude in a legends game than he did all season.

30 May 2019 14:00:16
Pogba is average just like the rest if our team.

There is nothing special about him.

Let him go to the highest bidder and get rid.

He will never be a world class player.

30 May 2019 20:10:42
Jesus, if another club was to read this thread we would be lucky to get £30 million for him.
