Tuanzebe, I would be interested in the opinion of those who have seen more of him this season

I watched the Villa game the other night and it is too little time to form a real opinion plus TV doesn't give all the angles, however my observations were; displayed bravery in tackles, reads the game reasonably and had good recovery pace. However, he became flustered under pressure and gave the ball away a couple of times, not completely assured; got himself out of position a couple of times and for the headed goal he lost who he was marking and they scored. I watched his partner Tyrone Mings put him in position once which was interesting. To be honest Mings looked a decent centre half on the night, certainly a bit more experience at 26 than Axel.

I wasn't convinced about him being first choice at United but am not saying he isn't good enough to be in the squad, welcome others thoughts who have seen more.

The aston villa page might be worth a shout.

I know a few brummies an they said he's had a good season. Nowhere near the finished article and gave same examples you have but full of promise. I'd have him in the first team squad next season. He'd contribute more than Rojo easily.

Villa friends have said he has bags of potential, but needs an experienced partner beside him while he learns his trade.

The problem with him coming back here is that we don’t have anyone to help him develop. Smalling and Jones are poor defenders, Bailly is reckless at best, and Lindelof is still learning too. I think he’d do well if we sold two of Smalling, Jones, and Bailly, and brought in a top class experienced defender to help him and Lindelof develop.

Long term I get the feeling the best scenario for him would be similar to Henderson at Sheffield United. Promotion to the PL and stay on loan with then for another season. Then if they can prove they are PL ready then come in and compete.
If Tuanzebe came in for next season I think it would be to challenge for the 3rd/ 4th CB and miss out on full season of game time.

He can’t pass the ball too well, often goes sideways or turns around to go backwards if he steps up a bit.

With a bit of luck the number of games he’s playing will increase his confidence and ball playing ability.

Physically no problems, he has strength and pace. Looks like a future PL player, where he ends up depends on how he develops as a footballer.
