Right, seasons over and we can put that shower of c**p behind us. On the pitch we have been about as poor as we possibly could have been. However, as seen today our undoing this season has been the complete inability to defend.

The first goal was unfortunate. That was a shocking decision by the Ref who looked overweight and unfit. He was in a bad position and he guessed a decision. That was unfortunate. If there is one manager you don't want to go 1-0 down to it is Warnock. Cardiff shut up shop after that moment and sat deep and in numbers making it nearly impossible to break down. The second goal came from a moment of naivety from McTominay, finding himself playing at CB as surprise surprise Jones picked up an injury he got rolled and they had an ocean on space. Just poor defending.

None of Jones, Smalling, Rojo or Bailly are good enough to be starting every week. Most aren't good enough as a rotation option. Darmian, Valencia and Young aren't good enough at full back either. Hardly surprising with 2 or 3 of this lot starting every week we struggle to not ship goals.

That lack of confidence in our defence spreads through the team. Personally I would ship all of them out. Promote Tuanzebe and Mitchell to the first team squad. Then buy a RB and TWO CB's.

Until we sort our defence out everything else pitch wise is futile.

Your right shappy shipping two at home to Cardiff is incredibly disappointing but so is scoring nil and one to two related teams.

Slate, Scoring is so much harder when your worrying about being hit on the counter. The lack of stability at the back makes it harder to control the game and create those goal scoring chances. Another real issue we have had this season is a lack of confidence amongst our forwards. Many of them have snatched at shots they should be burying.

I would give Lukaku another season. He scored 27 last season, and if we are to play a two striker system then he will be useful. I think the issue is he spent last summer bulking up, which has hindered him. If we can get him on a tone down plan over the summer where he can become leaner, fitter and more agile then he could be a striker reborn next season.

Problem is Jones and Smalling have signed new deals and even if we made it clear that we wanted to sell who is going to buy them?

Ole needs to be brutal and tell the players that are not good enough that they need to leave as they have no future. The time has come to start moving this club forward and there are too many mediocre players in this squad.

I don't just blame the strikers shappy, a striker is probably only as good as his service, we have scored loads less than pool or city, to be honest pretty much all departments need improving and an old adage is start at the back so I don't really dispute what yr saying .
I'm one of the people a couple of year ago who was excited at the thought of rash and martial but I have to be honest they looked better prospects two year ago, they got a raw deal when Sanchez arrived but to be honest haven't helped themselves much either.

Maybe with our contacts we could get a good price for Jones, Young and Rojo from Salford?

12 May 2019 19:22:22
The problem is it won't be up to ole who goes. I wouldn't be surprised to see young Jones smalling and shaw as the back 4 next season.
I always try to take the positives but there are none. It will be a tough few years ahead, unless big decisions are made correctly I won't be holding my breath.

We could have any striker in world football in our team we would still struggle to score goals

We don't have natural wingers we have no quality midfielders that can control games pick passes out that can change the game.

We have defenders with no leadership not one single bit of awareness or ability to do the simple things you expect a professional footballer to do.

We have a team full or poisons and until this is changed expect nothing different next season.

We can all complain and call it an embarrassment but the players do not care. why would they there still getting the money each week.

Woodard needs to step up and show some balls and do what he didn't do last summer and back the manager

We finished 2nd last season miles off 1st and we signed one player for the first team in fred

How can you expect to challenge when you don't improve.

Unless we make major changes this is where we have become.

Enjoy the summer off and hope by some miracle something positive happens with this club.

I know that people say that the players get paid too much and don't care but i think that latter criticism is unfair. I don't think anybody would want to have to constantly face public criticism about the way they did their job. To me the problems stem right from the top. The club appears rudderless, no clear direction, without focus and this has transmitted itself to the players. Allied to this is the lack of real leaders on the pitch.
