So to look forward to next season, shall we have a guess as things stand now, with Ole at the wheel and it looks like a Technical Director of an ex player like Fletcher, where we will finish in the league next season?

My guess, as things stand is 7th, with one of Wolves or Everton getting in front of us.

There’s no point in guessing. It’s just another excuse for people to have a moan.

With this squad, 7th. With the changes I’m hopeful to see, 3rd.

We can’t answer that question until September when we see who is the DoF and what squad we have.
Pointless discussing that now.

If Ole can get the team playing like they did when he first arrived from the start then top 4 is possible.

Completely with Wazza on this one. No point speculating as we have no idea what will happen. It's like speculating where we would have finished had Jose stayed in charge until the end of the season. Relegation maybe?

Wazza, perfectly and succinctly put, mate. It's just getting boring, now. How many times can I say the same thing in a different way?

How about we forget where we finish and hope we can just watch some decent football next year with players fully committed and trying their best. To have an identity and recognisable style of play. To watch a coherent team where everyone understands their role and plays for each other rather than themselves would be a good start.

Forget titles and trophies to win the league we'll need at least 90 points it's simply not going to happen. We need to start building a squad that is ready to challenge when the likes of Pep and Klopp inevitably leave in a few years time. At that point we need to be in a position to take advantage as they transition like we have.

Let Rashford mature and develop, find a partner for Lindelof. Bring through the likes of Greenwood, Gomes, Chong etc but don't judge them by the standards of the past or with City and L'pool. The truth is despite a torrid season there isn't much difference between us and the likes of Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal.

For me it's about changing the mentality in the dressing room and getting our identity back. Then we build from there.

For me I want to be able to take my seat at OT next season and see players sprint to the ball from minute 1, press, close down, deny the opposition time and space on the ball. I want to see us attack in numbers with mobility and pace and a determination to win the ball back when a move breaks down. If we play with commitment and desire we'll win most games and we'll be halfway there already.

RedMan. Champions. Happy with that? Or are you simply fuelling another anti-Ole rant.

09 May 2019 13:04:49
Redman i have to say i have had so much good debate with you over the years we agree on some things and don't agree on others. However now I'm trending to skip your posts because you are repeating yourself or just having a dig for no reason.

Interesting, having seen us in slumps before, with the Scouse particularly in the 70’s and 80’s and now City sat above us, the rumoured changes really concern me, so my alarm bells are ringing a lot louder than others, that seems obvious. I warned about it with Moyes and had a similar response, let’s hope I am wrong this time.

Red Man, I don’t doubt you are right at all, you just don’t to tell us every day 😀.

09 May 2019 21:02:11
Red man i yhink its safe to say everybody has heard your warning. So is there any need to give it daily?

09 May 2019 21:39:13
Ken, AJH

Ha, I will give it a go, can’t promise if full of a couple of bottles of wine. Summer is coming and the cricket season, the excitement of the transfer window, I may get distracted 😀.
