Is anyone else worried by the fact Solskjaer has tried so many different formations/ tactics. Normally a manager has his way of playing in a set formation and sticks with it so the players get used to it.

I know injuries have maybe hampered his plan a little but to change from week to week is a little concerning, I'm hoping ole succeeds and in no way am I defending the players but how likely are we to see any rhythm in our play if we change the way we play game to game.

Not at all. We have a fractured squad who are either unable or unwilling to play in certain ways. So as a manager you have no choice but to try and work out a different way to get the results.

Give him the summer to move some players out, bring some new players in and to work with the side during pre-season. Then judge if there is any improvement next season.

People need to remember Pep didn't win the title in his first season as City manager. Even with a pre-season behind him to drill his players, an almost unlimited budget, buying 8+ new players was he able to get his side playing perfectly. It took arguably the best manager in the world, with a very good squad to start with 500m plus buying 15 new players, and two whole seasons to create a winning side.

Yet people are hanging Ole out to dry after half a season with a terrible squad, no money and no chance to bring in or ship out even one player.

It's hard to have a consistent team and formation when

1. The team is crap
2. We have no squad depth.

Well said shappy.

06 May 2019 12:11:40
That’s a good shout Shappy. Ole Solskjaer has to be given time now. I think it was a mistake announcing him before the season ended but it’s done and Woodward has made his bed. I’m desperate for Ole to succeed but I’m also desperate to see him given time to rebuild a squad capable of actually playing some half decent football.

06 May 2019 12:22:31
Shappy I remember peps 1st season though he didn’t have the players to carry out his plan you could still see how he set the team up and how he wanted the team to play. What I’m concerned about is we look like we have no plan or style of play game to game as it’s always changing. I’m also concerned that ole will not get as much backing as the fans want less so the players we need.

The difference being that pep came from managing the biggest clubs in football, with huge experience handling players with all sorts of egos and traits.

He has no idea. never did have an idea. Will never have an idea. Let's stop this insane and inane optimistic posturing. A mistake has been made, and hardly for the first time. Go get someone who can manage and recruit. Relying on emotion, sentiment, heritage fantasies, imagery and symbolism is futile.

At least he is cheap to terminate. So terminate.

It doesn't help when most of the team are out of breath after thirty minutes like yesterday. How professional athletes can be so unfit is beyond me.

06 May 2019 13:06:34
I can't remember watching a PL team so out of shape like Utd are.

Frankly its embarrassing. Sheer petulance. All we can do is back the manager and hope for the best.

The ...............

{Ed002's Note - Why bother posting when you know so little about the club? At the moment you are just trolling the posts of others. You would do better to post nothing and try to learn.}

Shappy is bang on here.

I don't know enough about the details of how the club is run but something is broken above Ole's head And something seems a miss in the changing room. We need a clear out, fresh ideas and new personalities.

06 May 2019 16:45:17
If a strong personality like Mourinho couldn't put his foot down and get backed, do you guys think Ole will do that or have the backing.

I very much doubt anything will change.

The club seems to be be clueless and targeting Mouirnho's identified player which again points to th3 fact Ole is not choosig the players it is getting chose by the people above.

Th3 club is just going back on their words which is r3qlly bad and if a new manager looks at it from that angle i am sure he wouldn't want to be associated with th3 club unless he is given full backing.

Ole was and is a easy get away choice because of the fqns that adore him and will give him time but i don't think he has it in him to succeed long term unless there is a full structure around him which i highly doubt it going by whqt the clubs has been doing for the last 6 years.

I promise you guys the next excuse we are going to have is that it wasnt Ole's chosen players if the club decides to buy Mourinho's targets and will most likely be in a never ending transition period for the next 5 years or so.

The club is player poker and the sooner the dealer gets relieved of his duties the better it is because the cards have been the same but just exchanged hands a few times to keep us fans happy.

So Ed ....

{Ed002's Note - Yopu are seemingly the most ill-informermed of the ManchesterUnited supporters - it is really a joke how little the others know - and well beyond a joke what you know.}

Ok Malcolm I succumb to your vast knowledge of every detail of the inner workings of our club. Thank you.
