It's time lads. Move on to the next stage of grief. I've done anger. Now on Acceptance.

A lot have been in denial about where and who we are as a club. Those players won't play for another manager. They have carried on from last season when they we acting like prima donnas. A bit of pressure and they crumble. No matter the tactics or personel. They have a mental block when playing and it won't be coached out of them. Ralf was right saying we need at least 10 new players. How some laughed at him that day. Not laughing now tho. Like Keane said, that group of players will throw any manager under the bus.

The club is rotten. The owners have put people into place that have no clue what they are doing. Woody for 9 years, pretending he's running Disneyland. No sporting director yet. Bad managerial appointments, not backing managers when they need certain players and have become a meme in regards to transfer dealings.

The Michael Knighton support shows how desperate people have become. Hoping a fantasist can save us. Have you seen the guy on twitter? Threatening to sue people for questioning him? Ask Carlisle fans their opinion on him. He couldn't even run a div 3 club. If he had the money, he wouldn't be presenting his arse to Jim Ratcliffe.

Facts are, unless someone comes in with a 5/ 6 Bill bid, we are most likely stuck. We have no-one with any backbone to tell the owners how it is. No-one who ia driving the culture throughout the club. The manager can't do it on his own. It slides downhill. The culture is 'come to United for the money and money only'.

I'm not going into finances as that triggers some people. But that billion that people point too, saying they have backed the club? Its worth feck all unless its put towards a coherent and obvious structure. Might as well have chucked it out the window (maybe then the people who live in the Salford area would see some investment in the place, like City have) We have a squad assembled by 5 different managers. And we are further away than ever.

This is us now until things change at the top. 4th-10th place finishes and maybe even worse. Too many players on crazy contracts to get rid off. Too bad of a squad to compete. Owners that care about their dividends and that's it.

Accept it. Is what it is.

Totally disagree, yes we need players replacing but can you honestly say the new manager as invested wisely, it appears he being backed for his choices, so where is he leading us, the Ajax way will not work here.
The Anthony’s, the DVBs/ Martinez’s are just not good enough to even start a rebuild, then you have the existing Sancho, McGuire Varane, Shaw, Fred McTom none of these are good enough we already know that, but you have to start rebuild somewhere so your first buys are important buys I feel we just added more rubbish to our existing rubbish, no one can honestly say hand on heart that Erikssen, Martinez, posible Rabiot, DeJong, are really what they would have targeted or even guessed at for this season and are any of those the foundation to build from, I certainly don’t think so, I have left out the new left back kid because he is potential, so worth a gamble….

Agreed. He should strip mcguire of captancy imo. Sad thing is who do you give it to. If ronaldo ends up staying put it on him. He will have the respect off the players and might motivate him to carry this lot in his last season.

NC, You absolutely cannot give the captaincy to a player who if he stays is staying against his will and has spent the entire summer trying to leave the club.

What sort of example would that set?

You don't make the rat trying to jump ship the Captain.

Yeah, Nothing changes. of course the problem is the captaincy. Fix that and all will be well.
Such nonsense.

Perfectly put.

There are plenty with their heads in the sand, believing United to have the clout as they once had while convincing themselves that this £1bn represents intent for anything other than basic commercial operation.

The fact that United have been made to cling on to Pogba, Martial, Lingard, Bailly, Matic and Cavani for so long when good money could have been made shows just how utterly inept Joel Glazer is.

Last summer sorted the wheat from the chaff in terms of how the minds of United fans work.
On one hand, people like me could see that it may well have been the last opportunity for some time to shop anywhere near the elite market and to implement a clear strategy that's supported by the other vital factors - ten Hag and the 'culture' have arrived too late.
On the other hand, there are plenty who were happy to completely overlook the (already long overdue) need for positive direction by celebrating and congratulating the club on bringing back CR7 - a massive, massive mistake made at a delicate time for the club, a decision that proved everyone else right that the Glazers only care about short-term commercial gain.
Frankly, City played United like a fiddle. They have a functional structure full of people who do know their stuff. They knew he'd arrive with a disruptive ego and expect himself to be the absolute main man.
They knew United were, apparently, beginning a cultural transition at the club and also knew that the preliminary stages of such a switch are the most fragile.
They knew that, by expressing interest, it would trigger fans and figures of United to the point where United felt their hand being forced, thus smashing away the delicate foundations of the apparent intent.
That's precisely what happened and now we're seeing just how stupid the club have been.

Now we see the result of this mismanagement in all it's glory - players who cannot be bothered to put in a shift, players not suited to transition but who remain because the powers say so, another coach being thrown under the bus by the players and the club.

This club is toxic and will likely not see CL qualification now for a good while. The only thing that could change that is the youngsters, but who's got games so far?
Almost entirely the same wasters who took the proverbial last season.

So, another question.
What makes people think that, given the two games so far, ten Hag has either the permission or the ability to do the business at United?
I mean, let's be real. He won't have been told that he must play McFred ahead of the likes of Iqbal.
So where is he?
The answer is that, so far, ten Hag has not displayed enough of the, much-mooted, strength of character to be brave. Frankly, it wouldn't make any difference now anyway, the club's a shambles.

It's high time the club had a broom forced through it, but that would need to apply at board level too and we know that certainly wouldn't happen.

Football, eh?

I don't blame ETH at all.

He was sold a dud. He had no idea the problems in the dressing room and the problems with the amateurs above him.

He has had 2 players. One is a starter and at least he shows a bit of fight. Ita the same players as last year and they ain't upto it. Ppl saying play the youngsters, yeah great. Have senior pros, all pissed off about not playing, whispering crap in their ears.

Conte was the man we needed. Has the balls to stick two fingers up at the board and can putba rocket under players. Yet people on here said "no, he's to controversial. "

Some fans need to open their eyes at what this club has come.

Cmon guys eth would have known exactly what he is getting into. According to ed002 he changed our entire targets for the transfer window.

What we have bought are his choices, who plays how we are playing is his choice.

He clearly decided on dejong over savic and its turned into a pickle for him.

Woggle, guessing you hadn't heard of Iqbal until a month ago, and now you want him starting.

Things are bad but seriously, throwing in the kids isn't the answer.

The players have have downed tools for 3 different managers and 3 different systems. Its not ETH's fault entirely.

And as a club, they should be telling the manager to move on from FDJ just like City an Cucurella. But they wont. Because they are clueless and are hoping ETH çan get us out of the mess as they have no plan as a club. Just another example of ineptitude.

AJH

No, I'd never heard of him - obviously.
As my opinion differs from your own, it must obviously mean I know nish.
Whatever!

If you think two senior midfielders who were crap last season and have started this one even worse are more deserving than a kid with spirit, work-rate, and more in his locker than both of them, then I'd say you're kidding yourself.

I'm not saying drop everyone for the kids, but application is required to drive a culture change and McFred are just not ever going to be good enough to do the business - that's just my opinion, albeit that of such an obvious fool.

Banjou i did not say changing the captaincy will suddenly transform us. If you want to make a point to the players that yesterday was not acceptable its a start.

If we play the kids then we’ll be feeding ‘em to the lions in my opinion. It’s obvious that we are toilet at the back so we need to change things up. Perhaps a back 5? Who knows. We need to adapt to the time that we’re in and if that means parking the bus then so be it. Mr Mourinho anyone?

{Ed014's Note - time for a call to big Sam? ?
