I imagine the players were not looking forward to training today, we have seen how EtH has beeen with not following his methods in training let alone that shambles yesterday.
Hopefully it is the final straw that allows him to follow with his convictions and play the players that fit his style more rather than those established to allow his style to develop over time whilst picking up points.
For me we need to make changes for the Brentford game and I would start with Malacia rathern than Shaw (he offers nothing at the minute and like some others still seems devoid of confidence), start with Varane rather than Maguire (he was not awful but you can see that he is a liability when he is turned - none of the back 4 played great but we just need to remove the toxicity that comes with Maguire), Play Van De Beek and Erikson in the middle instead of McFred (I get that we may get over run occasionally but if we are trying to play posession based football we need players who can keep and pass the ball. McTominy goes hiding when the defence need to pass to someone), Hopefully Martial is fit and we can get back to what looked a promising front line with the 4 of Fernandes/ Sancho/ Martial/ Rashford (I might be tempted with givig Garnacho a go) linking up well on pre-season.

If the game taught the powers that be anything it is that we need to get new players in and that the evolution into what EtH wants to play will take time. maybe more time than we had initially thought.

I really was appreciating your post Brad but then you said Rashford and then i lost it. Rashford isn't good enough to play for Forest let alone be a starter for United.

UA - I am trying to hold on for him to turn it round but I am starting to wonder if it has passed for him, certainly at our club. I know I can be a bit blinded by players that come through the youth system as want them to succeed and in the right set up I still think he could perform. Saturday and recent seasons have been awful though and you do wonder whether he has it in him. certainly in a posession based team that EtH wants to go with.

Rather than play Maguire, VdB and Rashford just put a scattering of traffic cones on the park. And put the captains armband on one of them. Just as effective!
