Regardless of any transfers, perhaps the most productive move this Summer to kick start the rebuild is to move on Ronaldo.

1. No plater is bigger than the club, no matter how many Instagram followers he has. He’s starting to over shadow everything good, all positive preseason training reports etc

2. Apparently, platers last year were intimidated by him and felt the need to pass to him all the time, so it became a one man team. Look at decline in Bruno…

3. He doesn’t fit a modern hard-pressing multi-positional philosophy that ETH wants to create.

4. Wages are astronomical

5. Better to look forward, not back.

Probably more reasons too. Yes, he’s a legend but his time has now gone.

If he goes I think there will be a big collective sigh of relief from many people at the club and hopefully be the end of the Woodward sign for brand rather than potential era.

We could do with a few platers to help rebuild O. T.

Think Shaw would be chuffed to have a few more platters at the club.

Agreed, yet all could become overruled by the complete lack of options at no.9 we have.

Martial should never play for us again and certainly won’t run in the way ETH wants and Rashford is a left winger, nothing else.

I’d only be happy letting Ronaldo leave IF an out and out centre forward was signed first, and another were soon to follow.

Partridge had a big plater.

Lol! Damn autocorrect (and my eyesight)

Here’s hoping the platers don’t get eaten alive by Liverpool on Tuesday!

If Ronaldo leaves… Martial will be our top scorer next season.

With 7 goals….

To the point above. He’s our only recognised striker. So unless we have a replacement, why be happy if goes?

No exactly nailing the transfers in are we either so adding a striker to that list seems ambitious.

Interesting points from the OP. Can’t really argue. No surprise that Bruno’s levels dropped considerably when Cristiano arrived. Maybe there was no intentional pressure from Cristiano himself, but it goes without saying that Bruno will have heaped pressure on himself to live up to his countryman’s high standards. Expect Bruno to be at it again if CR7 leaves.

7 years of lazy nonsense from Martial. play Charlie McNeil there if the Glaziers are embarrassing enough to let Ronaldo leave without replacing him.

If Ronaldo leaves I expect there to be a striker signed. However, there is no chance that the new striker will be on Ronaldo's level.

Yet that doesn't mean that the team will necessarily be worse off. We might bring someone in who suits how EtH wants to play, which may benefit the team overall.

Martial and Garner are like signings. Think after Eriksen and a back up keeper we’re done. Amazing transfer window. Strengthened the defence, midfield and attack without breaking the bank.

Danny, please ???

This club, is so amateur like it's unbelievable.

Agree with the original post, we're better off without him. But I think everyone's ignoring the big giant elephant in the room (no not Maguire) . will a top CL team even come in for him? I'm not so sure.

I’ve been saying this for a while…. we are SKINT! Don’t expect a glut of 40 million pound signings. I tend to agree with Danny.
