Hard to say a lot of things on this group without being ridiculed one way or another.

All I will say is like I have said the very few times I do come on here is. Trust the process, get behind the team and the manager regardless of the signings.

Now don't get me wrong having my favourite player of all time play once again at our home is amazing!

But we have amazing things like Greenwood, Bruno, Shaw, Maguire, Rushford and the future we all love to see.

We lost the Europa League last year because our manager wasn't good enough. He is still our manager but hopefully he is learning on the Job and eventually he will come good Time will tell

Here's to the future but one thing is clear if we don't win a trophy this year Ole has to take all the blame.

There is no problem expressing your opinion mate. I don't rate the manager but we are in a much better position than 3 years ago, our squad mainly. So fair play for whoever is responsible for this change, if its the coach well done but I think its the direction of the club that the manager fits in rather the opposite.
That said the worse thing that have happened is to lower the expectations. I have moved one step behind because i have no expectations and whatever comes would be a bonus. I support the team and i will not moan every day. But you can see in Chelsea what a good manager can do today at Liverpool. For me Chelsea were superb. Don't get me wrong, Tuchel is very defencive for my liking but you can see a plan and a good mentality in his team.

Settling for mediocrity and viewing a top four finish as a successful season is a dangerous game. Just ask the Arsenal fans! I still have my doubts about Ole when it comes to in-game management, but I don’t think that anybody can dispute that the club is moving in the right direction when it comes to our squad. This is probably the best group of players we have had since the late two-thousands, and I think Ole, Woodward and, dare I say it, the Glazers. Not all of our recent signings and renewals have paid off (Donny, Jones, Matic, James and perhaps AWB spring to mind) and there’s still work to be done on and off the pitch, but the future looks a whole lot brighter than it has since SAF announced he was leaving, so that’s at least something to smile about!

Ole has no excuses now.
Ronaldo and Varane are 2 of the most iconic and decorated football players with serial winning mentality.

Agree on Tuchel that he has a clear plan and what a resilience with 10 men for half a game.

The right direction we are going on is only down to one person Ole. Go back 4 years and look at the team sheets for some games and then we will all appreciate what a good Job he is doing . There was a spell when I really disliked our squad, had no connection with them but now the squad he’s building is likeable, they want to be there and it seems they actually care like we do! And he’s done all this work under huge pressure, getting slaughtered by the press, the pundits and worst of all some of our fan base, yet not once has he spoke out of turn in public .

Chris

Let’s see where we are at the end of the season. Ole talks some real rubbish in his conferences and his don’t lose tactical approach is not in keeping with the club. Let’s see how he adapts to having a demanding forward who won’t accept negative pass it sideways all the time football. Ole needs to win a major trophy and play football the right way, just being the face of the fans and nice doesn’t cut it. He has to learn on the job and last weeks showing indicated he had not learnt. He needs to quickly.

Red Man - its my hope with Ronaldo coming in he might say" hold on, why we setting up so negative that's not how you go out to win games"

29 Aug 2021 10:12:59
He has done all that work while not winning anything and not challenging at all for a major trophy going into his 4th season which is the object of his job so he has been a failure thus far in my opinion.
Not lost away from home for a long time is a good thing but our home record over the same period is worse than any manager for 60 years.
For every ying there is a more damning yang for ole.
I suppose everybody sees things differently.
Your right the squad does look happy but imo they bloody well shouldn't until we challenge for major honours. Too much acceptance of mediocrity.
However we now have a player that can help change things raise the standards and lead from the front so my hope has gone up a notch or 2 but I don't believe much will change until we get a new manager.
Time will tell but I have at least a little hope now.

We will always be critical of managers whoever comes, but Ole falls short the average manager.

I'm okay losing 4-5 games a season by 2-3 goals margin, if that means we tried to convert our draws to wins.

When we are 1-1 at 70 mins away to Southampton, I want us to not replace fred with mctominay, I want us to replace fred with mata or lingard someone who will attack.
I'm okay with him trying to have 2 CFs last 20 mins to win the game, and risk losing 2-1.
I bet you if we do this often we will win most of the these games.
He underuses mata, as he actually makes a run or a pass that can unlock a defense, same with Donny.
With the opposition worried about bruno and Pogba, they can be marked out. Then comes mata or Donny or Jesse someone who will not get even more space to express themselves.
We want a goal, and never have I ever seen him drop AWB, and bring on Dalot, or play dan james at RB to try and force a win. Draws are unacceptable except for big teams.

Like the old years, absolutely pin the other team down.
We might lose some here and there, but he will start earning respect.
This is what I want from Ole, be a bit brave, lose the slow negative approach.

With Cavani and ronaldo, games where we are not winning, even a simple hoof the ball up could work, those 2 are excellent with holdup.
If they have a young RB or LB, overload on that side. If they have a dodgy keeper, let's shoot at every chance we get.

Good man @Chris. Very balanced and accurate description.

I have no doubt about the fact that some of the posters here have forgotten just how dire things were just 3 years ago and then there are others who just never got behind Ole because he wasn’t named klopp.

So weird that one of the greatest players of all time would want to play for Ole! He mustn’t be all that bad then I reckon!

29 Aug 2021 12:53:57
Good man@ redman a sensible accurate post imo.

{Ed014's Note - I love the fact some think he wanted to play for Ole when he himself wanted to go to City, he got his agent to ask them for £650k a week.

Pep had no interest and here he is.

I think some people overestimate the job of a manager. Especially at transfers. For example we wanted Varane for several years, he was rather a club signing.

We would want an English talent like Sancho with or without Ole at charge and we wanted Maguire before ole even come at the club. Yes we have a better squad and leaders. But its the direction of the club not only thr manager.

The funny thing is how the board was at fault previous years but now things seem much better none comes here to praise the board but its down to the coach. that's hypocrisy.

{Ed014's Note - that doesn’t really work though mate as Ole is responsible for where it really matters and ultimately that’s on the pitch.

13.) 29 Aug 2021
29 Aug 2021 13:12:02
Oh and ole didn't want vdb and James and ighalo they had nothing to do with him because they have not worked out so Teflon wole is ok.

14.) 29 Aug 2021
29 Aug 2021 13:13:20
Ed014 i mean as a roster, we are much better than 3 years ago. As a team i agree it doesn't work.
But the question in this thread is how much of them are down to the coach, i am sure not that much. I am not even sure Bruno was his peak as if you let Ole pick maybe he would peak Longstaff :)

{Ed014's Note - ahh sorry mate my mistake I thought the OP was saying about Ole not being good enough despite all your acquisitions then you were saying it wasn’t just him to blame.

15.) 29 Aug 2021

The worst thing about some on here is, not that they’d admit it, they want Ole to fail to be able to say I told you so . Things were dire under Jose, I was in Valencia for his penultimate game, one of the worst teams/ performances I’ve ever seen . I never ever remember Jose getting the criticism that Ole has had to take .

We have improved massively, and still have long way to go! You say we need to win something like we’re competing against Sunday league clubs, we’re up against some of the best sides in the world, winning isn’t easy, won’t happen overnight but progress is there in league position!

Some people are just not willing to see it! Who knows if Ole will ultimately be successful, I think we will, but regardless I’ll support him and this side throughout because I’m a supporter of my club .

Never thought I’d end up defending our club to our own fans, the dippers all the time but not our own! Looking forward to a belting atmosphere today celebrating the return 👑🔴⚪️⚫️.

{Ed014's Note - it’s opinions Chris, you have to get use to them and everyone on here is a United supporter.

I’d bet there isn’t a single one that wouldn’t be ecstatic for Ole to prove his doubters wrong.

16.) 29 Aug 2021
29 Aug 2021 14:18:00
Chris not sure how long you have been posting but at lat I agree with you it wasn't going to happen over night and it didn't we are now about 1000 nights in and still waiting.
We need to compete and have not.
We are not playing Sunday league sides but we do not have a Sunday league budget. We have the best paid players and wole has spent h all a billion pounds in transfers and contract renewals and to date failed miserably on core objective of competing.
He is here another season so we hope he does it this year all of us hope that but until I see what I consider improvement I'll be calling for him to be fired. Worst football I've witnessed and worst mentality since dave sexton took over in1977 / 78 ole has imo taken the club backwards in the most important core objective and that's winning imo.

I came on here after Leeds game you’d swear we lost! Anyway three points today and I hope Ole picks a team with everyone’s favourite players in it otherwise this site will explode! Up the reds 🔴⚪️⚫️.

I can't remember 1 negative posts from anybody after the Leeds game. why don't you back up your statement and find all the negative comments after the leeds game and repost them.

Worst football you’ve witnessed now you have confirmed to me your on a different planet . You must of been sleeping under moyes, lvg and jose last 18 months my god! I’m all for opinions but yours are totally blinkered by a disliking for our manager for whatever reason.

"Players like messi and ronaldo chose where they play" - Pep guardiola.

"go ask mancity for 650k a week" - ed14.

now there's a fact which I love!

{Ed014's Note - Shame it’s not one but hey if it makes you happy my work is done.

hahahaahah ed and here i thought your work was to moderate the comments.

Wish i'd known it earlier, i could have used you last year ;)

{Ed014's Note - were you sad fella, you must be happy now though right, you’ve got the messiah, oles at the wheel and you’re going to win the league, yes? 😂😂😂

You're too kind for asking ed, but all good now :)

to answer your question - a big fat YES pal!

i would have some doubts had it not been Ole at the helm, but just you watch good sir! and we ain't just stopping with the league title either :)

{Ed014's Note - 😂😂😂😂 love it and literally can’t wait to see it happen.
