So apparently our indifferent home form hasn't been down to sloppiness, arrogance or poor tactics. it's been down to the backgrounds put in the stands by the club. The players can't see each other 🤷‍♂️🤣 haven't we heard this one before?! Ole channeling his inner fergie with this one 🤣🤣.

It's probably down to away sides not being intimidated by 70k fans shouting at them.

I saw that and can believe that it might have had some bearing. what is refreshing is that if they thought that was a factor that they looked into it and changed things.

Yer man,

Totally agree, that doesn’t fit the narrative that Ole is a joke though. I noticed earlier in the season this issue and wondered if they would do something about it, I can imagine it was a problem. Not the reason why we have been poor obviously but small margins in big games can make all the difference.

Bit worrying it took them over 25+ home games to notice though lol if it is an issue.

6.) 14 Apr 2021

Why is this only affecting the home team then?

7.) 14 Apr 2021

Maybe because we’re the ones that play in red?

Dear me, Old Trafford has been awash with red for how many decades? But now Ole blames defeats on red banners. “We have looked into this, and there shouldn't be any reason (why home form is worse) but some of the players have mentioned that, when making that split-second decision, to look to see if your team-mate is there or not, and the red shirt, on a red background, with red seats - we have of course tried to change that, along with the anti-racism campaign, that was important that wasn't red too. ”

There is one thing changing a grey strip, but the colour around the ground? Next the first 20 rows must all wear black, no red allowed, how about cricket sightscreens instead of fans? I laugh at some of the utter nonsense he comes out with.

Well he's not going to blame a lack of attacking football is he.

Red Man as much as I agree with your reasoning that having red banners would not make much difference I don't think ole saying this is a bad thing. From a managerial point of view he is showing his players he listens and takes their comments on board whilst at the same time removing a possible barrier to better performance (even if you and me think it doesn't make much difference) .

He said the players said it red man, literally in the quote you posted, so it’s not nonsense it’s something the players have brought up that he’s fixed, deary me.

Booked, GDS

Are we really saying that after all these decades, the colour red in the stadium is causing us to lose. Then some will support Ole on this to the end of days no matter what.

13.) 14 Apr 2021
14 Apr 2021 22:14:36
Are you not getting this? Over all the years there are fans in the stadium, not red coverings on the seats. Do you honestly think the whole crowd wear red shirts? The point is the coverings on the seats, which the players have mentioned to the manager and he’s fixed.

Just for the record I wasn’t using this as a stick to beat ole with. just found it funny and very reminiscent of fergie and the things he said.

Redman no I am not saying the colour red is making us lose. What I am trying to say is by listening to his players and then actioning something based on their concerns it is more likely to foster good relations and lead to a better team dynamic. It is a good managerial decision for the team as a whole. It's more a good managing people decision than anything relating to tactics.

I am wondering what Bruno thinks about that. Now that's a reason for Martial's poor form I guess.

Ole should be thankful and consider himself lucky that there were no fans rather than coming up with such comments which is disgraceful.

Imagine the away teams putting our colors intentionally in the background to distract our players 😢. Just getting eager to see what's coming up next from Ole.

20.) 15 Apr 2021
15 Apr 2021 08:29:28
Simple change the colour of the banners to match the kit of our opposition every week. That way they won't see each other and we win 10 nil every week.
Another ole stupid quote. That's 3 in a week. Fecking clown.
He needs to know when to say nothing to the media.
Booker its poor management to discuss that publicly. If players said it privately he sorts it privately. Not mouthing off to the press to make him look stupid. He has a habit of that imo.

15 Apr 2021 09:16:19
Ken,

or better select a neutral official color for the PL to use as background for all teams so that none of the them have to suffer the same fate 😉.

And as a former player himself if Ole needs to be told by his players that there are issues with the background colors or whatever then he is even more clueless.

bookedredmole, isn't it the manager's responsibility to hear out people working under them and do what's necessary. And talking about player management we all know how bad Ole is at rotating his squad.

Ole needs to stop making excuses all the time especially ones that are off the pitch and focus more with the performances on the pitch. Fans will probably respect him more if he took responsibility and is more honest about our performances.

22.) 15 Apr 2021
15 Apr 2021 10:04:13
Sounds to me like Ole is trying too hard to show he really has a holistic approach to his management. It really isn’t something to talk to the press about, like Ken said. It feels like players are using it as an excuse, that now Ole effectively uses as an excuse for losing. Maybe instead of looking at that he should be getting an optician in.

I read this stuff and it sounds like Ole is trying to show he really knows what he is talking about, almost like he knows many of us are far from convinced he is a manager, let alone our manager and wants to sound like he has his finger on everything.

23.) 15 Apr 2021
15 Apr 2021 11:13:02
Ken you maybe right that is was wrong to air it publicly but I still think doing something about it after players mentioned it is a good thing. Worse case scenario it was a excuse which is no longer an issue.

Lets play! united I agree it is his job to listen and do something about it which is what he has done as for the squad rotation I agree this could be better.

24.) 15 Apr 2021
15 Apr 2021 11:41:39
I take your point bookedred just ole has a way of making himself look stupid imo. He is not the brightest bulb in the bunch so with him being like everybody else and having 1 mouth and 2 ears he should use them in that proportion or maybe ed Woodward won't give him any food.

25.) 15 Apr 2021
15 Apr 2021 12:47:18
Ken totally get it and see how some may find it embarrassing. I actually kind of agree and felt similarly with the grey kit issue years ago. I have however been impressed with ole's management skills around culture and personal treatment to form a team. The psychological contract is an area I work and have great interest in and something fergie was a master at (ole has not showed he is at this level but it's obvious he learnt a lot from sir alex) . That's not to say ole is fantastic as not bringing on subs at times, always starting slow and conceding first (usually) means something is amiss (is it tactics i don't know) but just imo from a people management/ culture aspect I think he has done well.
