Whilst we are rightly lauding Cavani, Pogba had a good game in a better position for him further forward on the left. It is a far better position for him to use his creativity and not get caught deeper. Good move by Ole to do that, hopefully more than a one off this season.

I thought it odd initially that we had 4 central midfield players on the pitch, but having more creativity is exactly what we've needed on many occasions and this team manages it quite well without sacrificing our defensive stability.

It's effectively removing a useless forward (Martiall) and replacing him with a midfielder to we can have 2 dms and 2 creatives.

I like it a lot.

Yep Pogba was class yesterday, picked up the ball in between the lines and allowed us to keep the ball in the final third and put pressure on spurs. Also planted hojberg on his backside for the third goal which was pleasing to see.

Shame the first goal got ruled as his assist was quality.

People say they want to see him grab games by the scruff of the neck, well he clearly did that in the second half.

Thought wan bissaka has a good game going forwards as well, mourinho clearly targeted him by letting have so much time and space on the ball but he moved it well and at least was a threat on that right hand side.

In Serie A, with its slower pace I think Pogba can get away with playing deeper in a double pivot.

Like wise for France in the much slower and significant drop in quality that you see in international football.

Yet in the EPL where ever mistake can and often is punished. Where you lose the ball and that triggers a quick counter, playing in the pivot with his variable work rate and poor defensive work he is a liability.

In the EPL he needs to be played further forward with less defensive responsibility. Either on the wing, which is something he can comfortably do with his pace and dribbling ability, or maybe in the inside channel on the left in a 4222.
