Our last 5 games reads City and West Ham in the league, AC Milan twice in the Europa League and Leicester City in the FA cup.

The reality of the situation is if we lose those two games against City and West Ham and we would be on 51 points and down in 4th/ 5th depending on goal difference. Dragged back into a dog fight for top 4.

While obviously losing in either the FA cup or the Europa league likely means elimination from the competition.

So my point is, which game/ games do you rest players for?

If Rashford had been subbed early against West Ham where he was clearly on his knees, he wouldn't have aggravated his injury and would have been an added threat from bench against Leicester.
(We were winning against West Ham by the way)

Also against pacy forwards Vardy and Iheanacho, why wasn't Bailly or Tuanzebe selected instead of the slow Maguire and Lindelof.
Poor selection and poor assessment of opposition.

Another reason was that our setup was so damn defensive with 2 holders Matic and Fred.
Why not play VDB alongside one of the DM.
Ole and the coaches are failing to utilize the players.

There is lack of organization in defense and lack of structure when we attack as a team.

I don't think you can blame yesterdays embarrassment on the defence but rather to our lack of quality in midfield.

They had Tielemans and Ndidi we had Matic/ McTominay and Fred.

I think you'll find its an international break. Meaning many of our players will have international travel as well as 2-3 games to play over the next 14 days.

Hardly sitting at home with their feet up.

Ridiculous. Trying to justify resting players for an FA Cup quarter final when the club haven’t won anything for years, when the manager hasn’t shown he can win anything, when it’s a really good chance to get to a final, when your local rivals may well be in the final seeking a double.

The answer is none, Ole should have been managing the previous rests better, far better. His substitutions have been ill thought out, late or non existent, Ole had a four away goal lead in the EL yet plays a first team. Then the manager complains of tiredness. Ole has been incompetent with this.

I know Shappy is an Olesexual so we can guess this will be the first post of a number outlining all sorts of angles to show Ole got it right, couldn’t be accountable for anything.

Did I read Rashford is fit for England duty? Yet couldn’t even be on the bench? Utter farce, utter continuing farce.

They play for and are paid by the club shappy. Declare them too tired for intl duty.
If they had rested for the 4 nil 2nd leg of the round previous they might not have needed a break again.
Lots of opportunities to rest players in any game. Lots of other managers do it. But to throw 3 players in from the start in a must win match that have hardly kicked a ball in competitive Action for months was a dumbass thing to do and there was no need for it.
It got the result the decision deserved.
But your are on oles bus where trophies don't count so why are you bothering to ask for other opinions. You don't care for other opinions you will just write another long post full of ifs buts and irrelevant stats without context.

Ole hasn't a learned a thing. He burnt the players out is his first season when we went from 4th to 6th.

The end of last season saw us get over the line on the last day of the season after a well fought second half of the season. But in those last 6/ 8 games of the season, we were woeful. The semi final against Chelsea was one of the worst performances I have seen a United team. We limped out of the Europa league too after being well beaten by Sevilla.

Now fatigue is being blamed when we yet again get knocked out of a cup after an utter dreadful display.

Don't blame the last 5 games as the straw that broke the camels back. The manager is simply dreadful at rotation. He plays players until they burn out and then makes wholesale changes.

Fergie was the master at this. You change one here, one there. Take players off in games we're comfortable.

You can not use fatigue as an excuse when he completes neglects decent players time and time again.

Resting players before International duty when the Club hasn’t won anything for years and City stand on the brink of an unprecedented quadruple is indeed a complete and utter farce.

If Rashford plays for England than the tail is well and truly wagging the dog. When in the history of football has a player been unavailable for their Club but gone on International duty the next day?!

His team selection back fired spectacularly as it did against Chelsea last season in what was another embarrassing capitulation!

Ole is fast becoming a contradiction and whilst the board and owners may be content with mediocrity the fans will not.

What we witnessed yesterday was yet another performance not befitting of a Manchester United team and I think we are all getting tired of the excuses.

When we go top of the league Ole proclaims we are not in a title race. Only a few weeks later we find ourselves over 10 points behind City.

In a season defining week with important games against AC Milan and Leicester Ole suggests winning trophies does not accurately demonstrate progress and merely flatters the ego.

This Club is becoming masters of manipulating expectations and when the manager says winning trophies is not important the illusion is complete.
