I thought I would delay my reaction to last night and I have to say it's been coming. We were totally outplayed and the manager outthought.

There are two big problems as I see it. First one is Pogba - we know he wants out and the club will sell but Ole seems desperate to get him into the side. He's doing so at the expense of the team dynamic and at the expense of Rashford whose moved out onto the right where he doesn't look comfortable. It also means Greenwood drops to the bench.

Second is Martial. A player with the attitude and lack of intensity like Martial will get a manager sacked. He was no where near good enough yesterday and hasn't been all season. He doesn't have the mentality for a club like Manchester United and its telling that a 33 year old is often preferred.

Man City yesterday played with fluidity and confidence. We are capable of the same if the manager had the ability to coach the team to do so. We are over reliant on Bruno and VDB is chained to the bench - which gives me no confidence that buying a Grealish type midfielder would solve our problems. Although it should.

Totally agree with you Fresh, said similar in another reply before reading this.
Cavani, Greenwood, Donny on the bench makes no sense to me, Martial and Pogba are luxury of the cuff players we can do without.

I think Martial's time at United should be drawing to a close now.

I argued that he was a talented player and if given an injury free run in the team in his preferred position that he would prove himself.

Well he has been given that run, and while during that time he did provide some great performances, he also spent many games playing on the periphery of the match.

While he has also shown that he doesn't have the mentality to deal with competition for his place, something that has to be a given at a top club.

Time for him to move on to a good club that challenges for a UCL spot but isn't expected to seriously challenge for titles. Somewhere he can be undisputed first choice with little competition for his starting spot.

To make it at the top you need more than talent. Martial has the talent no doubt, but he doesn't have the mentality needed.

I tend to agree shappy. But you never know maybe with a run of games he can turn it around. He is only here 6 or 7 years so maybe we are betting a bit impatient.
