I think the 1st goal yesterday really summed our defence up yesterday, how many chances we had to clear the ball was mad.

The worst part of it, our captain fouls Luke Shaw, just as he was about to clear the ball.

He really hasn't come back from Greece at all.

{Ed025's Note - the elgin marbles move quicker than harry OCK..

And for the second goal, he had no business going after Kane. It's almost like he was trying to prove a personal point against his England team mate, and it cost us.

Out of position
Unnecessary foul
Failed to stand over the ball

3 very basic mistakes in a row, and he's our captain.

The spine of our team needs sorting out before we start next season.

{Ed025's Note - this team has no spine wazza mate..

Where was Maguire for the fifth goal. Pogba got the blame, but Shaw had tracked Moura so he was dragged out of position, and Maguire was no where to be seen. Sure Pogba should be more alert, but he was playing left behind Rashford, all of Fred, Maguire and Shaw should be behind him, none were.

Maguire was mainly responsible for three goals. Bailly messed up for one, but Bailly also put in some crucial crunching tackles and made many blocks, all of which prevented Spurs from either created more chances of actually getting a shot on target. Maguire did none of this. Arguably, Bailly, albeit far from his best, prevented the scoreline from being worse, AWB likewise with some well timed tackles, can the same be said for Maguire. Also, Shaw had a bad game, but he always seems to be doing his job and covering for Maguire at the same time. What business does a slow Maguire have getting so far forward. When Son missed his second one on one with De Gea, it all stemmed from Maguire making a dodgy pass on the edge of Spurs' penalty box.

I also think we lack an organising goalkeeper in De Gea, it's not his forte. He yells at the defence after they concede but seems to do little in terms of organising them in between, somethin the likes of Schmeichel, Barthez and Van der Sar excelled at. I got glimpses of that from Henderson, so maybe it's time to try him out, see if he can organise them better.

Finally, I've seen a lot questioning the coaching in regards to defense. But it was Jose I seem to recall, who said that players are not coached on basics, as they are to be expected of them. Yesterday, the mistakes were basics, positioning, manmarking, spacial awareness, not things to be coached at professional level.

Spineless manager. That's where all the onfield issues come from.

Every time Kane received the ball Maguire ran to him, was this his poor decision making or his instructions before the game. I don't excuse the players but the coaching is diabolical, there is no defensive shape, no tracking runners, the team look clueless. We may need some new players but unless we accept the big mistake was giving Ole the job, nothing will change,

Exactly Ed. We are too soft. Nobody communicating and getting into the players when they aren't performing.

{Ed025's Note - i dont see any respect for ole from his team wazza, he is a bit wishy washy for me mate and i feel his days are numbered ..

Saying that he didn't came from Greece is a huge wrong, is an exuse.
Its like he is good and smart but his brain is not here but in Greece.
The truth is that this is the real Maguire, he don't have a brain or he don't use it.
He is always the same, chasing the ball everywhere without really using his brain just like at FA cup who injured Bailly, a ball Bailly controlled and Maguire should never involved. He is not in Greece, he is here and he is just so bad.
