As it's the penultimate day in the transfer window I'm going to stick my neck out and say that Cavani will be our last signing.

All eyes will be on us and Sancho but that ship has sailed. He won't be coming this window or any other. This was our chance to get him and its not materialised. If we're struggling (or unwilling) to pay top dollar after only 6mths of C.V. hitting our finances then there's no way we're going to afford £100m+ transfers nxt summer after 12mths of C.V. affected income. This virus isn't going anywhere for a long time.

If we're desperate for a winger what about a cheeky bid for Newcastle's ASM. looks exciting and quick. Plus he's right footed despite playing mainly on the left. Surely wouldn't cost the earth and would welcome the move. To be honest I'm beginning to wish we'd bought Callum Wilson as our backup striker too. Good business done by Steve Bruce lately.

I don’t believe Sancho is coming either, possibly Dembele but who knows.

As for ASM you clearly watched the game last night and are suffering from a condition called MOTD fever, I suggest a glass of water, some rest and we will forget this ASM nonsense.

Anyway bring on Spurs
GGMU.

“After only 6 months of c. v. hitting our finances” are you serious? 🤦‍♂️.

It does seem like the Sancho thing is dead for this season, which leaves the situation of holding out for next season to do it properly (if these guys are capable of such a thing) and addressing the position with a loan signing, or moving on and finding a long-term replacement in. gulp . just over 24 hours. Seems like Dembele and Sarr are the likely candidates. I assume Sarr would be a permanent signing and I don't think would prevent the signing of Sancho later on as he is adaptable up front. However Dembele on a permanent deal would seem to scupper it. For me a loan for Dembele would be my preferred choice if Barcelona are up for it.
The Telles situation is ridiculous. Haggling over what seems to be a very low fee in the grand scheme of things. Of course we only go on what appears in the media and things snowball. Maybe there is more to all of it we never hear.

Telles fee is nowhere near low. Its 20-25 millions for a player at 27 and we can agree with him in less than 3 months to take him for free next summer.

Whatever Manchester United’s transfer strategy was this summer, it didn’t involve signing a 33-year-old free agent at the last minute.
