Roughly 176hrs until the transfer deadline. No way is Woodward getting Sancho and Telles over the line in that time.

The window's been open since 27th July yet here we are on the edge of October with the window shutting in a matter of days and we've still not got our main transfer target nor have we solved our glaring defensive problems nor have we shipped out the waifs and strays accumulated over the years by the various dross that has managed us.

Beggars belief!

Alex Telles I expect to sign in the next couple of days. It's an easy win, a tap in. He is a highly rated player, available for a fair fee with no real competition for his signature. Even the amateurs should get that deal over line.

Jadon Sancho isn't going to happen. Accept that now and you will save yourself a lot of upset come deadline day. The simple fact is that United aren't prepared under the current circumstances to pay the asking price and they expect Dortmund to drop it.

In reality Dortmund have a top class player who has three years left on his contract and who could be sold for at least what they are asking for this summer next year if not more, considering that there will likely be more competition for his signature next summer.

Simply put Dortmund won't sell for less than €120m and United aren't prepared to spend that much. If Dortmund were prepared to drop their price or United prepared to pay what is needed then Sancho would already be a United player.

I think United will make a last grasp bid, get knocked back and then move on to another target.

Maybe a loan with an option to buy next summer. So as to leave the door ajar for a bid for Sancho next summer. However, my view is if he does not come this year then he never will.

Who cares . Once the window shuts hardly anyone posts on here anyway. We should all really be more concerned if league 1 and 2 players can feed their families. I bet Sancho couldn't give a hoot about anybody in league 2 or their kids😞😞rant over.

What makes you think clubs will have the finances to pay £120m or more next given the fact fans are not going and not looking like going to games any time soon. Clubs finances next year could be a lot worse than this season.

{Ed047's Note - I’m sure I heard or read the other day you are losing something like £110 million in gate receipts with Arsenal not far behind on £95 million.

If correct that’s a big hit for both clubs.

I still expect us to sign Sancho. We’ve gone with the cheap option for lb and midfield, it makes sense that we’re saving our budget for that big signing, Sancho. Expect him to be here soon.

Match day revenue for a season is about £110 million, so if crowds are banned till next March then maybe using the apparent £100 million we have in cash reserves to plug the hole seems more sensible than buying a player.
I would have no problem in not signing Sancho and letting Greenwood go on the right wing for the year with Anthony Elanga as back-up.
