Chong periera martial maguire bailly all looked sharp willams and Jesse were ok the rest played poorly or very poorly. But minutes on the clock. 1/ 4 final v Copenhagen to look forward to.

I wonder if Chong at left back is something they’ve been working on in training? Only reason I wonder is down the amount of talking you could heard from the coaches towards him.

Completely agree, mengi looked decent too for a small cameo. I was pleasantly surprised by Chong and periera. Linked up well together down the left.

Pereira really surprised last night. Maguire was the worst player on the pitch, looked very shakey several times at the back.

Really? I thought Maguire was absolutely fine last night, what mistakes do you think he made? His attacking headers are disappointing me but defensively didn’t really put a foot wrong and the goal was just a great finish.

If you watched that match last night and thought Maguire had a worse game than Mata and James then I think you were trying to make Maguire seem bad because you’ve decided he’s not good.

He was caught out of position several times, a better opposition may have capitalised on that. And, as you pointed out, needs to begin converting some of those free headers he gets onto. To be fair to him, maybe he needs a rest, but he seems to be some sort of talisman who has to play every game.

Daniel James is very frustrating- very rough diamond indeed. Would be good to see him play on the other side when Rashford is on the bench.
