Apparently alexis is desperate to leave. can we please just let him go. Whilst I agree with not getting our pants pulled down in transfers, this is one where getting rid no matter what seems prudent. Just removing his wages will help the clubs finances and he has no chance of playing so if inter want him then take the money and run. It looks like we could be cutting off our nose to spite our face which is just typical of how we are run.

Im sure the club would love to get his wages of the book. But i'm not sure that any deal proposed to united would not involve us subsidising his wages partly.

Not as simple as you are making out.

If he were sold to inter permanently then surely we wouldn’t have to subsidise his wages, that would only apply if he was loaned again. am I wrong in thinking this?

{Ed002's Note - Inter have agreement over the package with the player and want MU to contribute by letting him leave for nothing or very little.}

Is he desperate enough to take a substantial wage cut. i think the ball is in his court more than anything. I doubt united are stupid enough to hagggle over a few million, when he is costing us 20+ million a year in wages. But you never know.

Thanks ed002.move will probably fail due to us wanting too big a fee. Get rid and get his huge wages off the books, but that’s just me.

The situation seems similar to Bale at Real Madrid last summer. Here’s hoping we learn from their mistakes and cut our losses.

ED002 surely letting him leave for little or nothing would help them as his wages would be gone?

{Ed002's Note - It would help everyone.}

And United didn’t pay a fee for him 😉.

Thats bot true Wallace. He did pay for Sanchez. Mikitarian had some value back there, i think 35 millions. If i remember correctly Ed002 said that even straight exchanges have a value written in contracts or something like that. So we gave 35 millions for Alexis and gave us 35 millions for Miki.

This feels like a scenario where Woodward will want to show he can get a decent fee for a player even if it is a small one (how small who knows) . I am sure this deal will be done especially as like Ed002 says the wages etc from Inter has been agreed so that will not be the problem.
Similar will happen with Smalling and Rojo.

Ed2 if Sanchez were to leave for inter would we still have to pay him his whole contracted salary. Let's say he earns 15m and has 2yrs on his deal, would we have to pay him 30m when he leaves or just a certain percentage of the fee recieved, if any.

{Ed002's Note - MU don't have to pay him any of it. If he asks for a transfer he would get 5% of the transfer fee.}

He will show how desperate he is by either submitting or not submitting a transfer request.

{Ed002's Note - It makes no difference to him.}
