Just saw an article stating That Man Utd are confident that Chong will sign a new deal to stay at the club. Ed002 is there any truth to this?

{Ed002's Note - I have no way of guaging the level of confidence that a club has.}

sorry ed002, I'll word my question another way, has chong had offers from other clubs that he would accept or is it more likely that he will stay?

{Ed002's Note - Chong has had discussions with four sides and another side, who cannot talk directly with him has had an approach turned away. Manchester United have always said they want to keep him but he wants game time - if they make promises of that then they may persuade him to stay. The player has made it clear he wants a move to Inter who have proposed an initial loan which will see him get first team football in Serie A next season (if there is first team football in Serie A next season).}

ED002,

In regards as to whether there will be first team football in Serie A, Is that due to the coronavirus?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, they are close to stopping all games now and cancelling the season.}

What would happen if they cancel the season Ed? Null and void?

{Ed002's Note - It looks like the table would stay as it is but no winner will be announced.}

I just don't get it with Chong. All I see is a lightweight player with little bravery, pace or skill. He's 20 years old already as well.

I don't even see any potential to improve. Does anyone see anything in him which makes you think he's good enough to be a first team player at man utd?

MancMan I have to say I have the same view of Chong.

{Ed001's Note - a lot of it is because he brings in interest from Asia, which was one of the reasons behind Inter's interest.}

Ah now I get it. Thanks Ed001. Man utd are now the club where twitter hits count more than goals.

{Ed001's Note - no, but they want to give more of a chance to a lad who could bring in huge sponsorship deals if he makes it.}

Maybe, but he's not going to make it because he is pants so he is a waste of a squad place and a wage.
