The only thing worse than a crap Ashley Young, is an uncommitted, unmotivated crap Ashley Young. Looks like we have the latter now until the end of the season at least.

Okay he isn't the best but I've never seen him fail to put a shift in when played. Has done a job in various positions and been a good servant to the team and club. So, whilst agreeing he's at the end of his time with us, I think he deserves a bit of respect.

Based on what Norn? His exemplary attitude since he signed?

A very good professional and has always put in a good shift for us despite what anyone might think of his abilities.

Never good enough but you can never doubt his commitment. Was looking at his stats and his goal tally really is pathetic.

Same scoobs

Young has never been the best player but has been hated on from day one.

Always gives his best and leads. might be true his best is and was never good enough but he ain’t picking the team.

Good luck to him and I hope moves on for his own peace. Been derided for fun by sections of the supporters.

The club really needs to start moving these players on quicker before they decline as it really tints their exit with recency bias. Other now ‘legends’ had the same too nothing new:

Wants there’s some time and perspective more appreciate their efforts over their full Utd career not the last few seasons.

I agree he's put in a shift whilst not being of the quality we all expect. however something is amiss lately. He has been left out of the last 3 matchday squads, why is that? he maybe wants to go so why force him to stay? that's my point. We might not get the same level of effort and committment from him if we blocked, what he perceives as a good last move in his career.

repeatedly slated but always gives the effort expected from a EPL player! very unlike shaw whose position he has occupied quite a lot as well as doing his best wherever he has been asked to play. Little to no drama or aggro off pitch, never a move on threat for not getting more minutes and almost a decade service: a whole lotta players could learn from his attitude tbh and although I agree he ain't the worldie some would crave, I think he deserves a little credit for considering what would be his last major deal before he hangs up his boots. let's not forget he started out as a forward not a defender guys.

Funny how fans perceive stuff, pogba gets injured, people complain he is faking it, with no evidence to back that claim. Ashley young after being a bench option for mostly the whole season, is suddenly dropped from the squad with no injury news and just after a report from di marzio that he has asked to not be included in the squad, is hailed as a true professional.
