I think everyone should be very happy with 3 away wins on the bounce.
No matter the opposition 3 wins is 3 wins.
Nobody expects this squad to be playing good attacking high quality football. We don't have players that can deliver that at the moment.
Hats off to ole and the lads we have 4 more teams of simialar ability in the next 4 league games 4 wins there and we are back in the hunt for top 4.
Everybody knows the squad is weak so if we can limp through to Christmas still in contention then add a one or 2.

I think i saw an attacking intent from ole last night with his substitutions.
For me the last 3 months had been some of the worst football I've ever seen as a united fan only surpassed by dave sextons reign.
Let's hope we can maintain these scrappy wins over the next few games. Even though the football is boring and insipid more so than it ever was under jose and lvg winning matches makes it that bit more bearable.

Ken

Agreed, happy with the wins but forgive me if I don’t see the same rosy tint as some do. Actually agree on the Martial substitution, it was a positive one. It’s all about winning just as it is under any manager except that wasn’t enough under Jose.

I think you are right on Sextons football, hell that was dire. Let’s hope we can get a little run together and build on this.

I liked the energy and pressing last night, I liked the change in formation which got us back in the game, I liked the team spirit I saw. We just need to see it more consistently.

Redman credit has to be given if results imorove. All anyone wants to see is improvement.
Results needed improving no doubt about that.
No manager could have this squad playing scintillating football or even really entertaining football so just for now its all about results. But they can be turned into a pretty effective unit. Much more effective than they have been for the last few months.

Go and re watch Utd v Seville in March 2018 and then listen to the post match press conference.

Go and re watch Olympiakos v Utd in February 2014.

Go and watch the majority of games played under Moyes, LVG and towards the end of Mourinho's spell and you'll see some pretty dire football. It would appear some have forgotten just how bad the football was and you don't have to delve so far back into the history books to witness a Utd team playing some terribly uninspiring, unimaginative, soul destroying rubbish on a regular basis.

Let's just see where we are after the next 4 or 5 games. The team should be full of confidence and we now have a run of very winnable fixtures. I can't excuse the bad start but an horrendous run of injuries to some key players certainly hasn't helped. Let's just see what this team is capable of now Ole can select his first choice front three. Let's see if they can score the goals to propel us up the table. Let's judge Ole when he has a fully fit squad to choose from and hopefully he can strengthen in January so we can look forward to a better second half of the season.

Sooner or later somebody will have to be given the time to sort this mess out. Results will ultimately dictate the managers fate but panic and hysteria after only 10 games certainly doesn't help.

DLIB - agree 100%

Also think people need to remember how bad Utd were in some of SAF's last few seasons. Many wanted him gone before the final Van Persie inspired EPL win as he was playing 442 so he was a dinosaur.

Big moments change games, change seasons. Small differences. Lifting the spirits around the club has an uplifting effect on results. Just look at the reaction when Jose left and Ole came in. The players felt freed from the cloud of dispare and went on a fantastic run.

So bull to the it's just Norwich brigade. We are moving on up, and the tide has turned.

We struggle badly when players of our 1st choice 11 are injured.
The upturn in form has coincided with the return of Martial.

United under Ole have won 13 out of 16 games in which Martial has started.
So it's important that our 1st choice starting 11 remain fit.
The trio of Rash, Martial and James is absolutely exciting.

That is a load of bs dodgy, I get trying to put a spin on things but claiming many fans wanted saf gone, that's just lies.

Dlib we have won last 3 games but if we are going to cherry pick games about overall footy then please watch the west ham game and explain to me how it was any better than ones you mentioned.

Careful CSM, you will be told to watch your step as caution and realism is not permitted.

Unless you watched football under Sexton you can’t compare what we have seen this season. Sextons football was dire as were some performances this season. However, there is a script and that isn’t allowed to be on it.

The football has been dire for ages I could have picked loads of games the point being the football under Ole is no worse than anyone else.

Football is all about opinions mine is no more valid than anyone else I just think we need to show some patience and restraint.

My belief is that our first 11 is decent and certainly capable of competing with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Leicester. The squad is thin and we've suffered badly from injury but I'm pleased Ole has placed his faith in the likes of Martial, Rashford, Mctominay etc. I accept they need help and I believe Ole should be judged after a couple of windows once he's had the opportunity to find the right players to support and supplement them.

I don't think talk of relegation, scare mongering or mass panic was warranted and open dissent will do nothing for the players fragile confidence many of which are still very young and inexperienced.

Utd are not the team of the last couple of decades and since Fergi retired I'm not sure we can even call us a top 4 team yet many still judge us by those lofty standards. In my opinion we must accept our current status and hope that we can build our way gradually back to the top. Klopp and Pep won't be around for ever and once they've gone we need to be in a position to take advantage of any uncertainty or instability their departures may cause.

If results don't improve Ole will ultimately face the same fate as his predecessors but I don't think he needs his own fans throwing him under the bus.

Red Man,

Nobody is saying you can’t be cautious or realistic, I think all of us would be silly not to be cautious, the season will have a lot more ups and downs, I’ve not seen one post suggesting we are suddenly amazing or going to win all of our games, but as fans of a team you want them to show fight, determination, passion and above all get results. We’ve seen that in the last 3 games so people are quite rightly cautiously optimistic.

It’s up to you if you want to be cautiously pessimistic, but there’s no need to get ratty with people for being the opposite, and cautious optimism doesn’t mean we all think we are going to win the league like some of your posts seem to suggest, just that we can see improvement which is surely what we all want.

As opposed to it's not jose fault, which is the under current to a lot of posts.

The Seville game was the single worst game of football I can remember us playing. The game with an injury-ravaged Liverpool there for the taking, wasn't far behind. People have short memories. Great post DLIB.
