Anyone out there with a time machine who can take me back to 1999 please I don't think I like 2019!

I need to go back to a time when I went on lads holidays to Falaraki, we had a midfield of Giggs, Keane, Scholes and Beckham and I had a full head of hair! I miss those days!

In 1999 we all believed we'd win every match. now I struggle to even watch a match. even with the dire football from jose, I would of expected to beat bloody Newcastle.

I was born in 1999, I'm now 20, and I'm starting to lose my hair. Hopefully if we get some form back it'll start regrowing.

Where are the people who were all positive before the start? Calling out the ones who were pointing out the issues with the squad and the depth of squad. I think reality struck really hard at them. :P.

Becks - If that's aimed at me pal I always maintained I believed Ole was in danger of building too quickly. I warned about the likely impact of losing the likes of Pogba, Lukaku and Sanchez on top of Herrera and Fellaini when everybody was clamouring for them to be sold.

I insisted the Club was never going to spend the money needed to replace those players on top of recruiting another CB, RB and RW. Thankfully we kept hold of Pogba because despite his perceived attitude problems without him we are completely devoid of quality and creativity in midfield.

This needed to be a slow and methodical re build. In trying to re set the culture of the dressing room (what ever that means) and reassessing our recruitment policy Ole also had to keep one eye on the present or he wouldn't last long enough to compete the re-build. I wrote all this at the start of the summer.

Ole gambled on the likes of Rashford, Martial, Pogba, Lingard and even Pereria to perform more consistently and supply the creativity and goals to take this team forward but so far they've not delivered.

I wrote a post a few weeks ago about there being a worrying lack of goals in our squad and if you take an money ball approach to the issue the problem was both obvious and alarming.

Ole made those decisions and he didn't/ couldn't persuade the Club to invest enough money to cover those shortcomings. Long term injuries to the likes of Martial, Pogba and even Shaw have hampered his hand but the players he gambled on such as Rashford, Lingard, Pereria and even Lindelof to some extent simply haven't delivered for him.

At the end of the day Ole will be judged by his decisions and his ability to find a formation and style of play to get the best out of the players he placed so much faith in. I can't defend our performances and Ole will need to turn this around quickly if he is to survive. I still maintain that if Ole can get key men back from injury and keep them fit this team is capable of putting a run of results together.

Our immediate future looks bleak but in football things can change very quickly. Ole needs to re galvanise this squad and maybe the Liverpool game has come just at the right time.
