It is universally agreed that we have had a terrible start to the season. 5 points from a possible 12 isn't good enough any manager who is expected to challenge for the top four should be under serious threat of being sacked with a run of 5 points from 4 games.

Frank Lampard and Pochettino along with Ole are clearly out of their depth and it should be a race between them for who gets sacked first.

It could be argued that both Chelsea and Spurs have stronger squads than us, so its even worse for them to be on 5 points as well. They are also below due to lesser goal difference.

Glad we didn't go for the bottler Pochettino. Clearly doesn't have a clue.

Poor humour to prove a point and a really bad comparison between those 3 and a bad attempt at justifying appointing a man that is clearly out of his depth.

To even include Pochettino in those 3 is completely ridiculous.

Pochettino is a proven manager with a very good record. Considering the amount of money is had at his disposal and all that he has managed to achieve, playing a very good brand of football, he is far and above OGS.

As Ed002 has clearly outlined, although Frank Lampard was brought in from a championship team, the framework that Chelsea has is far superior to our own and gives Lampard a much stronger base to work from.

Now, we have a manager that failed miserably at Cardiff, has novice experience and currently has a permanent manager record of 3 wins, 4 draws and 7 losses.

Whether or not you want OGS as manager here or not, your post was very disingenuous.

You can keep telling yourself all the good things about Ole, but you were quite quick to tell us and consistently tell us how wrong Jose was for United even though you were 'fully behind him'.

Time to start getting real Shappy.

Shappy, the way you put spin on things a career in politics surely awaits.

I wander if Boris would be interested in appointing a 'Minister for Statistics'?

Or maybe people need to gain some perspective.

United fans keep saying that Ole shouldn't be in charge and point to the results this season yet Pochettino a manager who many want to see be the United boss has the exact same record.

They say we have no chance of top four due to our results this season, yet two of our main rivals have the exact same record as us.

Just adding perspective.

7.) 02 Sep 2019

People who say Ole shouldn’t be in charge point out that his only top level experience ended with being fired by Cardiff, and his failure to produce results since Feb. Nobody is saying he should be sacked on the basis of this season’s performances.

8.) 02 Sep 2019
02 Sep 2019 18:12:18
You are not adding perspective. You are just making silly noise.

If i were sours i would be asking questions of Poch 3 league wins in 15 is abysmal form. He needs to start winning games again. If that trend continues he will be fired make no mistake about it.

Im telling you now if poch only wins 3 of his next 15 matches at spurs he will be fired. If ole only wins 3 of his next 15 he will and should be fired.
Both need to reverse the trend if you think otherwise shappy you are being very very very naive.

What perspective is that shappy, that draws against city and arsenal are now considered same as draw against Southampton and wolves?

12.) 02 Sep 2019
02 Sep 2019 20:16:08
I've got two theories.

They're planning on selling hence the cost cutting going on, the reduced spending and having a manager that's sackable.

Or. They've realised the approach of the last 6 years has been totally wrong and that they need to hit the reset button, burn it down and start again. And Ole will get that time to do it.

13.) 02 Sep 2019
02 Sep 2019 20:03:23
Honestly, I don’t see any wisdom is sacking Ole without a clear plan in place, but I can’t see him getting the results needed to keep his job with this squad.

At this point I don’t think any manager will succeed without a major restructuring of the club, and that has been resisted for years.

14.) 02 Sep 2019
02 Sep 2019 21:18:29
Perspective 😂😂 it's a load of tosh, not perspective.

OGS is certainly no poch, and most definitely doesn't work within a structure such as Chelsea's.

If you're looking for perspective, check out his stats as manager against some of the lower teams. now that is scary and a wild dose of perspective.

15.) 02 Sep 2019
02 Sep 2019 21:23:06
Mort, he won't get the time. OGS was an easy choice for ed and the board.

We look royally screwed to be honest. A mess from top to bottom.

16.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 05:27:50
The squad quality of Spurs is much higher than of United.
They have a world class striker in Kane supported by top consistent players like Erikson, Alderweirald, Vertongen, Son etc, .

Any manager would struggle with this United squad.
Will Poch suddenly make Rashford or Lingard top forwards? I don't think so.

17.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 06:07:03
TRD one could also say that poch or any other manager with brains wouldn't let his squad stripped the way ole's allowed it to be without demanding replacements. The reason lingard's playing is we didn't buy an AM. Rashford is our no 9 because ole the genius thought that Greenwood a 17 yr old kid playing his first season is enough to replace a 20 goal a season striker.

18.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 06:17:11
TRD, so Poch is no better than OGS? 😂.

Yet not long ago posters were saying Jose should be winning the league with this squad. In fact people like Shappy were continually critical, very critical of Jose, yet now it’s give Ole time, he needs loads of time. Giving loads of time to someone with insufficient experience is akin to saying give them more rope, the only thing is that the club will suffer. Ole has to go for the sake of the club and the sooner the better, I saw a quote saying Ole felt the owners had invested heavily in the club, if that isn’t out of touch and making him a yes man I don’t know what is.

Poch would structure this team far better than Ole, manage in games far better than Ole, attract players to the club far better than Ole. However, Shappy like many others is still caught up in the emotion of a playing hero as manager.

20.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 08:56:20
Red Man,
Unless the structure of the club is not revamped, any manager is going to struggle.

CSM. The board failed Ole, or else we will be playing Bruno in place of Jessie.

21.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 10:07:52
There are bigger issues TRD, yes. I've always said the structure will determine the success of the right manager. I feel that the anger will be directed at the right people this time. Everyone spent so much time blaming Jose the last time.

But a manager like Poch would be able to at least manage the pre match tactics more competently, manage the in game tactics competently and attract a better calibre of player. It's just a fact.

22.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 10:17:41
Jose got time. LVG got time. Should Ole not get time as well? It's a results business and he'll pay the price if they don't improve, but if we're going down the road of young, British talent, then I can accept a certain degree of inconsistency along the way.

23.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 12:38:58

The cv’s of LvG and more particularly Jose indicated they deserved to be given time. Ole is sadly very lacking in that department, plenty of DNA though. Giving some manager time then more time only works if they have what it takes to use the time wisely and successfully, Ole is an utter guess. What mess will the club be in if they give him loads of time and it just falls apart because he didn’t know what he was doing, perhaps it isn’t what mess the club will be in but what division.

24.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 16:00:38
I don't think anyone is asking for loads of time. Just a fair crack at the whip. Jose's and LVG's cv's had a few warning signs in them as well ie. Trouble-makers, third-season meltdowns, prehistoric styles of football etc. Like I said, if there's no sign of progress on the pitch, as there wasn't with either of the previous two, then he'll pay the price.

25.) 03 Sep 2019

Nou

Not sure you appreciate what the risk is of a fair crack of the whip. There is a chance it can go right, probably a lot lot smaller chance than LvG or Mourinho, given his lack of experience, there is a far greater chance of it going wrong. What business puts its future on the line to extend time in that circumstance? If, as odds would suggest, it goes wrong, the downside could be disaster. Not every story has a happy ending. What is progress? If they look at the last 16 games, it is one of the worst runs in our history, it will make many very fearful.

Imagine there was a decent policeman, would they make him chief constable based on the fact he was a decent policeman? Then would they stick by him whilst the problems mounted up because he had never dealt with issues like he was expected to do before? It wouldn’t happen, yet it has at United.

26.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 19:42:11
Pochettino shouldn't be even written in the same sentence of the other 2, its embarrassing tbh.

They are both out of their dept at 2 of the biggest clubs in Europe. Whether Lampard has the structure doesn't matter one bit, he will bite the dust like the rest of them next season if not earlier. Ole is of course even in a worse situation structurally and managerially, he has at least had a transfer window and has no excuses on the pitch. Until the right men are making footballing decisions Utd will continue to hire the wrong managers. So is it Ole's fault? Yes partly but also the CEO needs to take most of the blame.

27.) 03 Sep 2019
03 Sep 2019 20:01:58
The policeman analogy doesn't work, Red Man. He would have no experience at Chief Con level, or any other management experience. Ole has been a manager.
