This season maybe a season where progression differs to that which is based on league position and CL qualification.

Lukaku has gone, Sanchez looks set to depart. Perhaps Rojo, Darmian and Jones will leave before Sept 2nd.

The chopping and changing on managers hasn't helped. We need to steady the ship, plot a course and set sail.

On that voyage, OGS needs to become his own man. The reports of him not parking in the managers spot at training etc, if true are undermining his own position.
Not dropping DDG last season was a mistake. If you underperform, you expect to be dropped. There should be no exception. OGS, needs to be ruthless. Come the end of June, we will see if he has the balls to do so.

The midfield conundrum needs to be addressed.
Mctominay and Fred played very well. together and showed an understanding between them. Pogba as a holding player doesn't work. We all know that. It hinders the team performance.

Back to fred and Mctominay, do we try an establish a new younger midfield partnership. Both players played really well against PSG and Barcelona. Or do we bring matic back into the fold?

Next up for me is Gomes. He impressed during preseason. His creativity in midfield is the missing link we sorely need. Whilst he is at a tender age, you just need to give players ago.

Performances not excuses win you games. Possession alone isn't good enough if you don't take and create enough chances.

I'm a firm believer that if you don't want to play at the club you should be sold. Pogba has never been interested. He injured wants to play as a ten. I think the club will regret not selling him and replacing him with someone who plays with more passion and determination.

I’d integrate Garner as well. If we need to find out what the youngsters are made of, he’s one we need to include.

Garner looks like he could be special. His understanding of the game at such a young age is crazy. His technique is superb. He just needs to be fully developed growing into his body as too much beforehand could hamper his fitness long term.

I agree with that call.

Garner’s performances with the U23’s show he’s too good for them. He needs to be involved with the first team or go on loan, to be tested and develop further.
Truth is, We probably can’t afford the luxury of him going on loan though so I vote for moving him up.

Garner has really good attributes.
His long range passes reminds me of Carrick.
