Hello. To any of the eds and posters, what's your view on developing Dalot as a RW?

{Ed001's Note - why?}

Probably because he can cross.

Although maybe we could do something radical and sign an actual winger.

Is this because we have such an abundance of quality at the right back position currently?

We are being linked to AWB of Crystal Palace. Won't that hamper DD development?

He can play lb and rb, he should get plenty of game time regardless of who we sign.

My point exactly. Unless Dalot is a complete waste of time, we invested £20m in a shiny new teenage signing last season. I’d buy a proper right back, like Meunier as mentioned, and let him learn the trade playing and rotating with him. Jose said he’d be one of the best full backs in the game in a few years, and he knows a thing or two about defenders!

I agree Eric. Best way forward I think. Dalot showed flashes last season.

Why is it we cannot have two young fullbacks/ wingbacks vying for the same position. Like it’s already been stated both would get plenty of game time, we should go for quality and longevity and competition for a place in the team is healthy and could help push each other on, a more senior pro may have more confidence from the manager in terms of experience and hamper a younger player knowing this.
Has anyone heard we won’t win anything with kids?

Nelly i couldn't agree more. Personally i think 2 high quality full backs for each side is ideal.
In a 50 plus games a season there is plenty of game time available. It brings healthy competion.
The caveat is that they must be able to play in the same system.
I think meunier with his ability and experience is a better option than wan bissika at the prices quoted.
Id like to see shaw have a serious challenge at lb to spur him on.
Shaw showed really good improvement but i think his standard dropped and he coasted the last 6 games. There is more in his locker if and only if he gets and stays super and i mean super fit.
I like tierny aa an 2nd lb. I think he has a big future.
But with young staying put and dalot being solid at lb there are more presssing positions to fill.
We need a squad with players that can all play 25 to 30 games a season and not be exposed.
Jones can't stay fit. Rojo is hopeless. They need to be sold with lindelof smalling tuanzebe and 1 new cb being good options.
Again in an ideal world 2 new cb but that seems very unlikely in today's market although there has been mention of the lad at Norwich and a young lad from stoke.
Youth is great but you need a mix and 2 or 3 experienced heads are needed particularly in defence.

I hope we get Wan Bissaka at right back, and Dalot rotates in at LB and RB. Young as 4th choice for next year.

I know that many would like to see half the squad shipped out. But if two leave from the back, Rojo and Darmian, two from the middle, Fellaini and Herrera, and two from the front, Sanchez and Lukaku, that is all we can expect in one summer.

If we spend 50 or 60 mill on bissaka plus 20 mill on wages it won't be to sit on the bench.
