Is there any truth to consortiums preparing a bid?

I read on twitter there are 3 consortiums preparing bids.

Thanks

Prepare a bid for what? We aren’t for sale.

Everything has a price!

GDS, everything is for sale at the right price.

Naivety to think everything isn’t for sale.

I wouldn't say everything is for sale, although would agree most things have a price.

The issue is if the owners don't want to sell then any price that would convince them to part with the club would need to be significantly above market value.

If the market value of the club is around 3bn, but the Glazers don't want to sell then who will offer the 4 or 5bn it would take to convince them to sell?

People with that sort of money don't make a habit of throwing it away by overpaying for things.

If they were prepared to massively over pay for the club then as fans we need to ask why? There would need to be reason for that and it might not be something we as fans are happy about.

Depends if they see value in United's future, how much will we be worth in 10-20 years.

The Glazers aren't adding value anymore, if you look at our operating income over the last 10 years, other clubs have now caught up and will soon overtake us, the Glazers in real terms have a depreciating asset.

Remember Ratcliffe put in a bid of £4.25billion for Chelsea, far above their actual market value and eventual sale price. If he went to the Glazers with £5billion, I think they would sell.

It feels like we have entered the perfect storm for this to actually progress. The sale of Chelsea has set a bit of a benchmark and pulled investors out of the woodwork, the Glazers interest in the club has deteriorated since the death of Malcom who seemed to be the driving factor, the fact that fan groups seem to really be mobilising following the super league and finally the impending costs that is required to upgrade the ground, training ground and potentially a brand new team for EtH!
Not sure what valuation the club would have put on it but the Chelsea price would surely be the starting point.
Key for me is that any sale must clear the leveraged debt on the club, I understand that owners will look to make money on the investment but paying the debt plus dividends is just crippling the need to invest in the club.
Jim Radcliffe would be the ideal person but whether that is a reality or not who knows. just the right person/ consortium with the correct finances and ethics should be looked at. The Glazers will walk away with a large profit and we need to accep that, let's hope they at the very least want to leave the club in the right hands as there only legacy.

{Ed001's Note - it was Avram who was the driving force behind the takeover. Malcolm had little to really do with it all other than to sign things.}

I watched the Phil Brown podcast earlier. not sure what to think of it. Basically says we are for sale, the Glaziers want to sell and Joel Glazier has been given the final word on players we getting.

Phil's a nice guy but would take it with a massive pinch of salt, he's been wrong a good few times and was swearing by Murtaugh and Fletcher at beginning of season and now they're inept because someone inside the club apparently told him.
