Hello Ed, you've mentioned previously Kalvin Phillips would be the better cost alternate to Declan Rice. With West Ham seemingly not budging on their fee, the media are now catching up to you on Phillips.

Would he likely be the preferred after Rice, and are you aware of any difficulty in convincing the player to move from leeds to manchester?

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty sure that West Ham have not set any fee - but have a not for sale sign. Interest remains in Rice from a couple of sides including MU but as noted Phillips offers a financially better option for the club.

Moving from Leeds to Manchester is not like taking a youngster out of his comfort zone of sunny Italy with the wonderful Mediterranean food and the beautiful girls laughing as they zip around on their Vespas. Leeds and Manchester are similar places with grim, wet and cobbled streets where there would be no cultural change just the same overweight tattooed women pushing wheelchairs with kids who look like their brothers, smog, dead & dying pit ponies laying on the street, and only chips & fried curry to eat.}

In that case it sounds like Kalvin would feel right at home in Manchester, toxic fumes and all.

{Ed002's Note - Absolutely.}

A friend of a friend owns an indian restaurant in Manchester not far from the station - far and away the best curry I've had in the UK for what it's worth.

Haha, I love Ed002's dystopian description of Manchester and Leeds. Would love to know your thoughts on other uk locations such as Liverpool, London and Newcastle.

We often dream of these south american and southern european players joining, but it was always difficult to sell the location. There is some hope, Middlesboro had Juninho, City persuaded Aguero, Thiago and Fabinho at Liverpool. You question had these players visited before signing?!

{Ed002's Note - In my limited experience of Newcastle I recall walking down from my hotel on a cold December or January evening and noticing all of the local young ladies dressed like cheap hookers with their midriffs showing. Liverpool is slightly strange - I like the Tate Modern but I had a credit card cloned there. I was in California when the credit card company called, immediately followed by the police. After denying having Halford service my car and buying huge amount of home delivery meals they then said they knew who was responsible as the food had all been delivered to their home address. London is a mish-mash like most big citites. the North, East and South are all largely no-go areas filled with "the ordinaries" (who I always try to avoid. West London is a slight improvement. Kensington and Chelsea are very nice. When we first moved to England we lived in Ifield Road in Chelsea.}

Haha, thanks for doubling down Ed002. Are you planning to do some more transfer rumour podcasts this summer, was always enjoyable listening to your eclectic music and tales about your dog ?.

{Ed007's Note - We've got some big plans for podcasts etc going forward, I'll put up a post in the next couple of days because it'll be what you guys want and want to get involved in.}
