Jim Lawlor and Marcel Bout have both left United.
Looks like big changes behind the scenes this summer too.

I do hope this is a sign of better people and things to come.

I thought Marcel bout was a good scout but had no one to report to.

To be honest looking at our recent signings it's probably long overdue.

Although to be fair I don't know how much blame can be put on them and how much on the people deciding which players to pursue AFTER they've been scouted.

Interesting ed has said a lot of people don't know what their actual jobs are or what they are supposed to do, it would be interesting to see if this is because of recommendations by rangnick and part or streamlining things.
Hopefully this is a good move but none of us really know the set up of the club.

{Ed002's Note - They have decided to leave, not been sacked. The main issue will be dissatification with the DoF.}

This is hopefully another sign that the club is looking to make the right footballing decisions and changes that could evolve the club into a modern football club. With stories that EtH and RR had questioned why the club had not even scouted some players they would have expected this is another sign that the the likes of Arnold/ Murtagh are listening.

Ed002's response is deeply concerning. Scouting is such a critical activity for any football club, especially one whose so-called DNA is built around youth and development of. A bit like Cadburys failing to buy enough cocoa beans!

ED002,

Do you think the club would be better off appointing a highly experienced DOF and moving Murtough into another position if possible, as he appears to be out of his depth.

Has RR had anything so say about the current DOF?

{Ed002's Note - They only appointed him a year ago.}

Is this a good decision Ed002?
Over a billion spent for a decade but the squad assembled looks like a laughing stock.

{Ed002's Note - What decision?}

That's not a good sign Ed. By all accounts I believe Bout and Lawlor are well thought of.

{Ed002's Note - There is a reason for it.}

Deeply concerning explanation by Ed002: Media spinning it to be a much needed structural organisation but the reality seems to be the consequence of another structural imbalance.

I'm not sure Ed is saying it's a bad thing. Murtough is newer on the job, but is clearly trying to run things a certain way that perhaps they disagree with.

{Ed002's Note - No it is nothing related to that.}

12.) 20 Apr 2022
20 Apr 2022 15:29:15
I'm sure there is Ed. And my guess is that it wouldn't reflect well on the club.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing reflects well on the club.}

Do you mind elaborating further as to why they both chose to leave the club Ed02. Your insight would be greatly appreciated instead of many in here just coming up with baseless opinions.

{Ed002's Note - it is unimportant.

Nah bugger off with that, we appreciate Eds info on this page, its genuinely top of the list. Never want to see it go the way of other pages where idiots give Ed rubbish and lose out on his info. Whatever he shares, he shares.

Hear hear Chris, the amount of time Ed002 kindly gives us is incredible. He’s always good enough to answer questions straight away, even though he can’t always give out sensitive information.

Always first with accurate information and says it like it is.

Very very grateful to him.

Totally agree with these comments, thank you for anything you share, it's really genuinely appreciated.

Although I must admit I am desperate to hear Ed2 reply to someone along the lines of

"Man Utd who are known for being a model of how to run a modern football club"

I just hope it's in my lifetime.

As Gary Neville said, Jim leaving is not a surprise, had been marginalised in the decision making process for years.

Question to Ed002 if l may its been a few years since l have last posed a question to yourself. Do you believe there is now a chance we move away from the much maligned clown structure you used to inform us about now there appears to be operational changes taking place. Have a good day 002.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any change in structure.}

19.) 21 Apr 2022
21 Apr 2022 11:01:27
Well to start with there is murtagh and fletcher in roles we never had up until a year ago and Woodward gone from involvement in football matters, straight away that tells me the structure has changed from peak Woodward times!

{Ed002's Note - No. The structure that the club has had in place has not changed since appointments were made. We are not talking about some random point in the past.}

It was reported earlier this year that Murtough would be getting a deputy to ease his workload, think Andy O'Boyle is the current favourite, but don't know if a decision has been made.

What exactly is Fletchers role then? I have never really worked it out.
