Those "reliable" SLY sources claiming Zlatan won't be offered a new deal. shame if true, I personally thought he at least one more year. anyone know anything?

Hes out till the new year, would be pretty ridiculous for us to keep him on considering the wages he is on as well.

The only reason for him staying would be jose wanting to help a friend out so he can get top level treatment at the clubs expense.

At his age and the injury that has happened to him, it wouldn't be of any benefit to the club. He could suffer a reoccurrence or a lot of muscular problems whilst recuperating and delay his comeback.

He played his part in what was ultimately a successful season and will be fondly remembered but even though we throw money around like a drunken sailor on shore leave surely one of bean counters can see 300k a week thereabouts for him to sit at home watching countdown til February is daft even by our standards.

Putting the name aside. which club would offer a 35 year old with an ACL injury a contract extension? He served us well but we need to move on.

I'm a big fan of his but there is no way under the circumstances that we should extend.

How's about No pay until he comes back and then a 1 year deal after that? Sounds OK to me.

How would he ever pay his mortgage and feed his family with no wages seanno? He might have to sell one of his supercars. would be living a half life hahaha

joking aside however unlikely the deal may seem I would've liked IBRA to stay but its not viable to pay that figure on wages if he's out for the next 5 months.

Supposedly the club has shown their class and offered him full usage of the facilities, medical and training staffs, etc. Good compromise as there's no way we're paying him Messi-type money to not play. That being said, if he recovers well over the next 6 months or so, that means it could be an easy decision to sign him in January as we'll have first hand knowledge as to how well he's recovered. Well doe all around by United.
