So Renato Sanchez has officially signed for Bayern. That will surprise a few people, as he was heavily linked with a switch to OT. It will be interesting to find out what the final fee is to be, I would guess it's not half of the fee the media suggested we will be paying.
So that leaves the DM area wide open. Personally I'd like to see us sign a CB, with Daley Blind or Fosu to step into the middle. Blidn's range of passing is underrated and he certainly has the legs, and I think Fosu would provide more than adequate cover.
Eds - Is there an update on the CB's we are tracking and can you see one of Blind / Fosu stepping into midfield if we do sign a quality CB?
{Ed001's Note - nothing new on centre backs, but I do expect Fosu to end up as a midfielder.}

Carvalho has been poor at the Euros. Admittedly I haven't seen much more from him other than the odd game, but it's been enough to come to the conclusion that he couldn't pass water.
Matuidi on the other hand is class. He's been overshadowed by Kante, which could actually be a good thing when negotiating a price.
If we get Matuidi we have plenty of options in midfield. I fully expect our current set of midfielders to find an extra gear under Mourinho.

Rojo is not a top half Premier League player. Lacks pace and tactical awareness. I thought at the time he was a panic buy because he was the only left footed centre back available. I don't know why that is so important these days, it never used to be. I'd rather see a very good right footed player playing LCB than Rojo.

I was told a couple of days back from a very reliable source that Mourinho will be United's next manager. I didn't post it here because it slightly goes against what one of the Eds was saying last week and I value their views as much as anyone's. One thing I will say is the source who unfortunately has to remain nameless rarely gives me any information but when they do it's been good information.

Ronnie, your scenario is worse value for money than Pogba is!
3 players who play the same position, 2 of them getting paid to starton the bench every game. Surely if the £100m isn't spent on Pogba it's better spent on various positions.

Personally I'd rather take Kroos over any of those options. He's dominant, excellent range of passing. I'd much rather pay £50m for Kroos and £30m for Kante than get Pogba. Both only about 2-3 years older than Pogba and about to hit their peak. Combined wages would probably equal what we would pay for Pogba, too.
