Ed02, are there any names / wildcards outside of Perisic, Willian and Mina that could at least give us a little bit of optimism before the window closes?

And if you don't mind, Martial, do you expect him to stay given what seems to be our insistance in him moving abroad?

panne

{Ed002's Note - Right now the names I am aware of are as those in the Sharkopod and discussed here. Martial will stay if he cannot be sold, nut there is a strong desire to move him on and add a right winger.}

1.) 31 Jul 2018 20:52:11
hinting martial willian swap could happen?

2.) 01 Aug 2018 12:33:54
worst bit of business ever done.

3.) 02 Aug 2018 11:40:24
I would like to see Martial moved on. Great potential, terrible attitude. Would prefer him to move abroad though as I could see him coming back to haunt us. A move to Juventus or another serie a side would suit him in my opinion.

Ed02, we were linked with Thiago Alcantara the other day and have been linked again today - any truth to the reports?

panne

{Ed002's Note - It would be another potential replacement for Pogba. I don't know of any approach to Bayern Munich but he is available.}

1.) 25 Jul 2018 11:22:29
Pogba is not for sale. may be for Jose but not for the board.

2.) 25 Jul 2018 11:23:58
That's got city written all over it. They missed out on Fred, not a bad alternative.

Ed02, will Fellaini signing a new contract all but end any chance of a second midfielder (e. g. Pellegrini) being signed?

panne

{Ed002's Note - As I had explained, Pellegrini was about 6th or 7th on the list the club had for midfield players so they would have been scraping the bottom of the barrel going back to think again about him, but they might. I would certainly not rule out someone leaving from midfield and a replacement arriving.}

1.) 27 Jun 2018 12:55:20
Ok thanks Ed - able to expand on who could potentially leave? Pogba or Herrera I'm guessing?

{Ed002's Note - Right.}

2.) 27 Jun 2018 12:58:47
Forget the last question actually Ed, can chance of one or two names from the list who come before Pellegrini?

{Ed002's Note - Why do I need to keep repeating myself?}

3.) 27 Jun 2018 13:25:33
Sergej M. Savic, Tony Kroos and Casimiro are among the names Ed002 mentioned.

Other options joined or likely to join other clubs like Fabinho and Seri.

{Ed002's Note - You can strike off Fabian Ruiz as he is going elsewhere as well.}

4.) 27 Jun 2018 16:32:03
Herrera to leave and then a cm coming in to replace him? or mata?

5.) 27 Jun 2018 19:51:19
Rumours mata is wanted by Barca.

6.) 27 Jun 2018 22:22:20
Love them both but I’d sell both Herrera and Mata now. As well as Darmian and Blind.

7.) 27 Jun 2018 23:43:48
Milinkovic-Savic certainly didn't impress today. Even Serbia seemed to pay him no mind.

8.) 29 Jun 2018 13:33:58
Sell Mata keep Fellaini? Makes sense.

Ed02, given we moved for him in January, can you see Jorginho being a main target in the summer as well?

panne

{Ed002's Note - Absolutely.}

06 Dec 2017 23:19:12
Ed02 on the Liverpool page you mention Goretzka is 3rd choice for us - can you please tell us who first and second choice are please? I'm guessing Milinković-Savić is one?

panne

{Ed002's Note - and Soler.}

Ed02, if you don't mind, I'd like to ask for your opinion on Mourinho and the club moving forward with him?

It's still very early days, but his general demeanour and negative attitude don't exactly bode well and give much hope for the season.

It wouldn't be that much of a surprise if a meltdown ensues and he leaves / is sacked before next summer.

panne

{Ed002's Note - Mourinho is a really nice guy and a really great coach. However, he is stuck in a city he doesn't like (understandable) because it is grim, wet and walking on the cobbled streets hurts the feet. A city which has zero culture which he will be missing, is blighted by smog, and where there are dead & dying pit ponies laying on the street. There remain a couple of people at the club who are convinced he is still really a Chelsea guy so he is not getting their full support. He knows he was not the preferred choice as manager and the toxic fans forced the unplanned change. Going forward, he will leave.}

1.) 24 Jul 2018 12:39:00
Do the club currently have a plan in place if jose happens to leave suddenly ed?

For example do they have an idea of the sort of manager they would like to replace mourinho with if the situation arises.

{Ed002's Note - Next Thursday you mean? I would doubt the club has a plan for that.}

2.) 24 Jul 2018 12:40:36
Ed002,

I am guessing a lot of that is tongue in cheek but I invite you to Manchester any time and I will show you around our 'zero culture' city you talk of, pretty offensive that to be honest a lot of us are very proud of where we come from.

{Ed002's Note - Maybe you should make the offer to Jose Mourinho who really doesn't like the place at all.}

3.) 24 Jul 2018 12:57:06
You say he is a nice guy Ed002, but he still gets so much stick for being, apparently, an awful person?

{Ed002's Note - That would be the fickle and toxic fans.}

4.) 24 Jul 2018 13:30:45
Hey Ed02 thanks for the info. A quick question on the strategy, obviously LVG inherited an ageing squad which had a sprinkling of poor Moyes additions. Was the plan for LVG to transition the team through the period of change lowering the average age of the team and to give more opportunities to players coming up through the youth teams, utilising a agreed tactical system of play then handing over to another manager after a set period of time who utilises a tactical system similar to that LVG was implementing?

{Ed002's Note - No, the club did not come up with any convoluted plans.}

5.) 24 Jul 2018 14:20:48
Thanks for the response Ed.

6.) 24 Jul 2018 14:43:09
I don't think anyone has said he's an awful person. I've heard and read lots of good thing about him, and away from football I'd bet any money he'd be good company. Unfortunately it's not away from football that's the issue.

7.) 24 Jul 2018 15:14:08
Hey Ed02, thanks for the reply. It’s quite interesting to get snippets of info on the inner working with regards to strategy in terms of succession planning. I’ve been a business director for quite a few years and it’s one of the cornerstones of business. It sounds like the planning on the playing side from a staffing and tactical standpoint when compared to other businesses is very reactionary.

Really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Rewz.

{Ed002's Note - The issue is that most coaches have jobs already.}

Mourinho could have had as much support as he wanted yet he still wouldn’t have won anything. No longer anywhere near the top of the game and and too arrogant to change his ways.

The only thing I've repeatedly banged is your mother.

{Ed002's Note - Interesting, she has been dead for a number of years.}

The interest from Wolves in Smalling is genuine then Ed02? The reporters with supposed close ties to Wolves are saying there's nothing in it.

panne

{Ed002's Note - What did I just type? Were you banged on the head repeatedly as a child?}
