Interesting comment from Ed002 on the Chelsea page about not to rule out Fabregas moving to MU.

1.) 08 Jun 2017 12:52:42
Isnt Fabregas one of the players who turned against Mourinho at Chelsea?

28 May 2017 13:24:25
Hi Ed002

With Carrick signing the new 1 year deal, does this mean there was no replacement found/ available as you previously spoke about? Did MU bid for Savic even though he signed the new deal and does this also mean Fabianho is a non starter also?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - You can put aside thoughts of Savic. Regardless of a new contract MU will continue to look for a new MF player but it is getting tougher with Fabinho but don't rule out a move for Kroos just yet.}

1.) 28 May 2017 14:53:34
is fabinho off to city then with mendy ed002?is bakayoko still going to chelsea?

{Ed002's Note - No, nothing is finalised.}

2.) 28 May 2017 15:24:59
Thanks Ed, hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

3.) 28 May 2017 16:59:24
Thank you for info on Fabinho Ed002 - would you be kind enough to elaborate further on why a move for him might be getting tougher please?

Many apologies if you feel this is an unacceptable request or is unimportant.

Personally, I'd prefer Matuidi who seems much better value for money and already has a relationship with Pogba on the pitch - though Juventus seem to be doing their usual shrewd business by showing interest in him/ quality older players who seem unhappy or are nearing the end of their contract.

{Ed002's Note - Because of serious interest from other sides.}

4.) 28 May 2017 17:53:45
Wow that was a swift reply Ed002! Thank you.

5.) 28 May 2017 18:11:08
Ed, on Kroos, I know it has been this way for a while but I'm very surprised that Real would be open to letting him go. I've seen you say he's been offered/ spoken about in deals involving other players but I don't think there is another player in Europe as good as him in the holding playmaker role so it's very surprising they'd be willing to let him go.

I'd be over the moon if we signed him. Ideally he would be deployed in a midfield 3 rather than 2 holding with a 10 ahead.

6.) 28 May 2017 19:32:51
Modric is the best midfielder out there in that Deep lying playmaker position, but he won't be sold at any price. Real also have asensjo (spelling) so I can see them willing roc let Kronos go. There's Veratti also who is very similar to Kroos. I would take A modric above all of them. Then I'd take Kroos just because you can imagine him fitting in very well with this ram alongside pogb and Herrera!

Hi Ed002

If DDG were to leave MU, who have the club been looking at with a wiew to replace him?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Donnarummer but that won't happen. Samir Handanovic who I think is a very real option and if you want a complete wildcard the Asmir Begovic.}

1.) 02 Apr 2017 18:33:54
Handanovic would be a great signing, definitely a Mourinho keeper, I think Oblak would be a another one to look at as well.

2.) 02 Apr 2017 21:06:05
What about jack butland, looks like he's going to be a class keeper, maybe a bit inexperienced but so was DDG whe he first came.

3.) 02 Apr 2017 20:51:59
Thanks Ed, I think Handanovic would be a good option!

4.) 02 Apr 2017 21:26:51
ED002 do think DDG will finally move to RM this summer?
Do you think Utd will try to negotiate a deal for Kroos as well.

{Ed002's Note - It is all possible.}

5.) 02 Apr 2017 21:25:08
I'd prefer Oblak over Butland as I think he's a better keeper. However I do rate Butland and it would be nice to have an English keeper betweeen the sticks.

6.) 02 Apr 2017 23:30:36
I heard that United will only sell De Gea to Madrid if they can get a Kroos, Varane, James from them.

7.) 03 Apr 2017 07:37:55
You mean you about read it shane88.

8.) 03 Apr 2017 08:22:02
Tbh I have actually heard and read about it lol I don't know if it's true though, I can see United trying to get some sort of a agreement from it, I think negotiations for any Madrid players will be hard as they will ask for United to sell De Gea to them, I just stay clear from Madrid and hope we keep De Gea, if not then demand they sell one of Kroos, Varane to us, I definitely play hardball with Madrid.

9.) 03 Apr 2017 12:15:56
Begovic woykdnt be a bad shout: remember him being immense for Stoke.

10.) 03 Apr 2017 13:12:15
I was disappointed with Begovic last season when Courtois was out injured. I think his mistakes were more publicised once he started playing for Chelsea. But yes, at Stoke he was a very good keeper.

11.) 03 Apr 2017 14:03:30
Bergovic is decent but isn't much better than Romero, I think we need one of the best of the best, Butland would be worth a look, I think logic would dictate someone like Handanovic.

12.) 03 Apr 2017 16:20:07
Wtf is a Mourinho keeper?

13.) 03 Apr 2017 17:13:30
Mourinho prefer his keeper to be tall and built.

14.) 03 Apr 2017 17:14:02
I don't think Begovic is any better than Romero.

If DDG leaves we need to look at someone like Lloris, Oblak, Donnarumma, Leno or Sommer.

08 Mar 2017 11:32:22
Hi Ed002

I saw on the Everton page you say MU may be rekindling their interest in Seamus Coleman due to being told another player won't be available to them. Could I ask who that other player is?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - David Alaba.}

1.) 08 Mar 2017 13:00:27
Thanks for the reply Ed.

2.) 08 Mar 2017 22:19:10
Ones a Left Back and ones a Right Back?

16 Jan 2017 15:15:55
Hi Ed's, can you see anymore MU players outbound in January?

{Ed004's Note - Potentially Depay and Schweinsteiger}

09 Mar 2017 13:22:54
Hi Ed's

Are MU still trying to recruit a director of football?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

1.) 09 Mar 2017 20:15:10
Are you aware of how that search is going? I know we had an issue trying to get the guy who was first choice. Have any other options become available? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Not well.}

2.) 09 Mar 2017 21:04:15
Ed can you shed any light on who the possible candidates are and have we been in any sort of negotiations with any preferred target?

{Ed002's Note - It has not worked and the club need to rethink.}

3.) 10 Mar 2017 02:52:06
Heard it was Berta from Atletico we went for, heard rumors of Monchi from Sevilla was highly regarded aswell

Really intrigued on if Mourinho would be interested having one at the club as Mourinho likes to be more hands on regarding the management of a club.

{Ed002's Note - No it was neither of those.}

4.) 10 Mar 2017 12:02:33
Thanks for the information ed002

Something I wanna ask fellow fans, don't know your thoughts on us having one, I'm pretty wary of us ever having one as Mourinho is here, he likes to have control on all football aspects, he hasn't had good relations with the previous 2 clubs directors he had to work with Emenalo and Valdano

Just wondering Ed002 how is the restructing going regarding our scouting system, they overhauled it towards the end of 2016.

{Ed002's Note - There have been lots of changes to the scouting system at Manchester United and they will continue to change as they see fit - but for now it seems settled.}

5.) 10 Mar 2017 12:23:40
Thanks Ed002, have a nice day.

6.) 10 Mar 2017 13:13:02
Shane, I'm all for us having a sporting director. We didn't need one under Sir Alex but since then what has been the sporting vision for our club?

Ed Woodward is great at the commercial aspect of the club but we have had three managers in four years each very different with very different views on how football should be played. If we are to have a level of continuity we need a stable long term sporting vision for the club, that way we can shape the squad for the long term rather than having to completely change the playing staff every few years to suit the new manager.

Jose has already sold two players LvG paid 60m for. We can't keep doing that everytime we changed the manager.

7.) 10 Mar 2017 16:42:15
Fair points Shappy

Very reasonable answer and from your explanation I could understand why we should have one

I just feel Mourinho likes to do the majority of what a Director of Football would do, maybe it something we could re-visit when Mourinho leaves in the future.

8.) 10 Mar 2017 17:13:55
Shane, I think Mourinho will accept anything that makes his job easier. If having a man who can get the players in he wants when he wants is the outcome of having a DoF then he will happily accept I'm guessing.

9.) 10 Mar 2017 19:55:01
Ed Woodward already does that lol

A Director of Football isn't just about buying and selling players, he usually the "go between" of the board of directors and the manager

Personally Mourinho likes to be the manager that controls all the aspect of the Football side of a club, that's why he has had issues with his last 2 clubs, definitely at Real Madrid. Everyone knows how political the club is ran where the manager might only have a say in buying players, the majority of the time he not the one buying the players, it's usually Perez calling the shots

If United can find a person who is willing to carry Mourinho instructions out and make life easier for him then it could work but that's not a job description for a Director of Football, he basically being Mourinho Personal Assistant.

10.) 10 Mar 2017 20:08:49
Shane, name me a club Mourinho hasn't had a DoF at? As you say he has had issues with the guys at Chelsea and Real Madrid, but he also had to deal with a DoF at Porto and Inter.

United is the first and only club he has been at not to have one. I'm sure he'd adapt to what he has lived with for close to 15 years. Lol.

11.) 10 Mar 2017 22:33:12
He hasn't I don't think, I'm not sure but I think Luis Figo may of been the DOF at Inter at that time, I be brutally honest the Porto one no idea.

If it can work I be happy with it, I just think Mourinho likes to go his business his way.

Ed002 response from the Serie A page

{Ed002's Note - The player would like a move to Chelsea or to Manchester United but right now both have other targets in mind. }.

Ed002, looking back at the posts I see you mentioned the below as our midfield targets, other then Fred is there anymore to be added to or taken off the list?

many thanks

Jorginho (CM/ DM) – player wants MC
Casemiro (DM) – a JM favourite
Fabinho (DM) - not first choice – doubtful

Toni Kroos (M) wanted by JM but not by the club – but JM may get his way
Arturo Vidal (CM) – age/ price makes him unlikely but JM likes him
Jean Michael Seri (M) – I would strike him from the list – talking to another PL side
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM) – could be priced out of a move
Fred (CM) - alternative to SMS and Kroos.

{Ed002's Note - Aside from what I have already said, no.}
