first time i can honestly say i fancy everton to win at old trafford this week, if am wrong ill be first on to admit it so not here on a wind up just i honestly think we can capitalise on this blip you seem to be having and finally take some points from your place.

johny1989

1.) 24 Oct 2018 09:29:56
Blip?

We can within a whisker of beating the last unbeaten EPL team this season away from home, and gave a decent account against one of the best teams in the world last night.

The last two games have been encouraging. I think we can handle Everton at home.

2.) 24 Oct 2018 10:04:55
A decent account last night? We was outclassed from start to finish, decent just doesn’t cut it at CL level I’m afraid. We have won 1 in 7 and are midway down the league. Again just changing manager won’t solve all our issues but results just cannot keep carrying on this way, we aren’t even close to the so called other top 5 teams. There is suck a lack of quality in control of the ball its frightening, how long can we say confidence, these are highly paid Manchester United players, sick of watching us atm, sick of all of us accepting mediocrity as ok. I’m not advocating sacking but we need to get our house in order and we need to do it quick as we have stood still while the rest of sailed by us.

3.) 24 Oct 2018 11:24:10
Liverpool and City are both still unbeaten Danny.

4.) 24 Oct 2018 11:25:42
WRD - We've got the best goal keeper in the world, a World Cup winning central midfielder that was a stand out performer for the opposition, we've got international players in almost every position. Merely saying we were outclassed only reinforces the narrative. The brutal truth is there was a lack of desire and intensity to our game. When we stand off Everton in the same manner at the weekend will you be telling me they have outclassed us as well?!

Once we add the required work rate, effort, attitude, hunger, intensity and desire to our play then we can start talking about quality. That was a disgrace in effort and application last night there was nothing decent about it. Juventus decided to step off the gas in the second half and were content to conserve energy and hit us on the break. We wouldn't have scored if we were still playing now.

Let's match their effort and application first and then we can start having conversations about being out classed. Last night wasn't a one off a lack of pressing and endeavour has been endemic whilst Jose has been in charge and it's been even more evident this season. At first I thought it was the players but this must be a tactic.

I don't even mind us dropping deep but as soon as the ball gets into our half the ball must be pressed quickly and aggressively with the whole team working together. This passive standing off, watching, walking, marking space and not tracking runners hoping they will run into somebody else's zone is simply unacceptable. Our players were hypnotised in the first half, heads spinning because nobody took responsibility and closed anyone down. They simply watched as Juventus passed the ball unchallenged and refused to track runners preferring to stay in the comfort of their nice, cosy, warm, piece of space whilst Juventus just powered through the gaps. If you think that's decent then we have a different definition of what is acceptable on a football field.

1-0 flattered us, Juventus let us off the hook, I doubt you'd be saying there was anything decent about the performance if we'd got beat 5-0 like we deserved.

Without a change of emphasis results will not improve. Last night was not good enough and it had nothing to do with Juventus sadly we've seen it all too often before. Be braver, work harder, press faster, let us dream better days lie ahead.

5.) 24 Oct 2018 11:30:53
WRD - Please accept my apologies mate it wasn't you that suggested last night was a "decent account". Lesson learnt I must read posts more carefully. I'm still fuming about last night and probably shouldn't post in anger. I will retreat into the shadows I've had my say. Sorry!

6.) 24 Oct 2018 12:26:21
danny i would say this is a blip mate this a worst start to a season i have known from united, talking about almost beating chelsea and doing well in defeat! are u sure your a united fan mate because any united fan i no is not happy with either result, like it or not i have to admit your one of the biggest clubs in the world mate and your content with a draw against chelsea and ONLY losing 1 nil at home in the champions league, shocking mate if this isn't a blip then this is your standard now is that what your saying if so its a sad day for united just accepting the rubbish jose is feeding u on a weekly basis, anyway lads good luck for the season just not sunday haha.

7.) 24 Oct 2018 14:42:47
Im with you DLIB, the effort to chase and put pressure on the ball is none existent, and there is very little running off the ball when in possession, the players spend that much time sitting off and watching the opposition they should be made to buy a ticket.

8.) 24 Oct 2018 15:34:15
No worries DLIB, we’ve all posted in anger but plenty you say in entirely accurate so don’t retreat to the shadows. We wasn’t in their league.

9.) 24 Oct 2018 16:32:08
WRD, fair enough if you don't advocate sacking, but our manager has been there for two and a half years now and this is how it is. How much longer do you give him to sort it out? Do you think he is responsible for this or just a victim of a bigger cluster? Would a new, brighter, more progressive manager get us going again or just run into the same insurmountable problems?

10.) 24 Oct 2018 20:19:20
who would be your ideal replacement if jose was to go? wpuld you go woth giggs or would u want a big name, i think goggs would be a great appointment now like knows the club, knows what it means to play for your club and has wales playing some good stuff and is willing to bring youth threw.

11.) 24 Oct 2018 23:26:06
I think jose has to take the majority of the blame tbh as he sets the team and tactics. I don’t advocate sacking manager after manager, it’s not worked and I’m not convinced another manager would greatly change things. One area things could improve is attack minded performances but until the club gets an identity and implements that at every lever of the club, wether a DoF comes in or whatever we won’t go anywhere. The club needs to sort itself out top to bottom and plan long term to earn otssjf back to the top. Maybe Jose has to leave for that process to truly start I dunno I just know my club is in trouble atm.

12.) 25 Oct 2018 00:49:42
Jardim for me johny. He’s available and has shown in the past he is good with young players with potential. Has title credentials by winning the league with Monaco and his teams play attractive football. Some may say it’s a risk and the squad is poor. But he would definitely get more out of our attacking players. It’s worth the risk when we serve up drivel like we did yesterday.

13.) 25 Oct 2018 05:43:52
he is a good shout park, only other one would maybe be a eddie howe and hope he steps up but i just think giggs is the man to take u forward, think he's gunna be a top club manager and whoever takes a gamble is gunna get a long term success, would any of yous take nuno from wolves?

12 Feb 2018 08:31:18
everton fan here just picking up from a thread further down when you are very dismissive of calvert-lewin being compared to rashford.
if you look at stats both are very very similar bout averaged a goal roughly every 4 games.
i personally think calvert-lewin is a better player as he is doing it in a struggling everton team, if he was in this united team with your players around him he would out score rashford with ease, just my opinion like and i don't expect any of you to agree just thought i would point out i agree with shan that if rashford wasnt a local lad a lot more united fans would want him gone.

johny1989

1.) 12 Feb 2018 09:06:30
I’m a fan of both and hope neither is constrained by poor management. Granted Calvert Lewis escapes the hype which sometimes can benefit a player but both talented young lads.

2.) 12 Feb 2018 09:50:10
i agree john am not saying rashford is a bad player ad have him at everton in a heart beat was just pointing out to the fans who earlier said it was shocking to compare both players that there very similar players.

3.) 12 Feb 2018 10:26:52
Rashford is a young lad who has won a euro final, played for England at a tournament, put man of the match performances in for the national team and scored goals despite rarely playing as a striker . He will be selected for the upcoming world cup and could feature for England upfront, left or right hand side . He has had dips in form but I doubt many utd fans would be happy if he was swapped for Calvert lewin.

4.) 12 Feb 2018 10:42:29
no one said you should swap him slate151 and if you read my comment i said calvert lewin would score those goals he has scored if he was in a man u team and not a struggling everton team, and he was selected for england because he plays for united mate let's have it right would he be playing for england if he was playing for say west brom or stoke? not a chance mate am not saying he's not good enough just a fact that had he not been at united he wouldn't have got a look in.

5.) 12 Feb 2018 10:59:56
Your point was u thought that they were comparable, the swap comment was to highlight given a choice I'd guess most utd fans would prefer rashford but I think most Everton fans would aswell . Your building a player up who may have lots of talent but has done nothing as yet to a player that has had achievements at a similar age . Many people may think utd could upgrade on rashford but Calvert lewin wouldn't be an upgrade in the vast majority of people's eyes he would be a downgrade .

6.) 12 Feb 2018 11:15:10
He plays for England because he plays for United, I think you have made the opposite point to what you wanted to make there to be honest. The fact he’s playing regularly for United and Calvert Lewin is often not even getting into the Everton line up sums it up really.

You are comparing goalscoring stats of 2 players who play in different positions as well, Rashford is often on the wing not a main striker, and I assume DCL didn’t score on his debut in almost every competition he has played in. Not saying DCL isn’t a decent player, he obviously is, but fairly sure everybody would agree we are much better off with Rashford.

7.) 12 Feb 2018 11:17:46
the achievements you say he has are pointless arguments tho go by stats and ability they are similar yes rashford won the eufa cup but your telling me if you swapped rashford for lewin man united wouldn't have won that cup? his achiements are all based on the fact he plays for you mate he's a good player but would be seen in exactly same light as lewin had he not came threw your team that's a fact.

8.) 12 Feb 2018 11:30:56
People debate on here wether yr main man who scored all yr goals last year is good enough not one of his understudies . Sit in a bar anywhere in the country and ask people about the England squad they would choose and see how many times rashford name crops up compared to DCL .
Rashford wasn't an incidental part of a team that won trophies he was a reason they did. All this well he plays for England cause he plays for utd stuff have u ever considered how good a youngster has to be to break through the ranks at utd, dislodge seasoned internationals and hold down a place.

9.) 12 Feb 2018 11:35:33
who did he dislodge? he broke threw at a time when you didn't have great options now he is slipping down the pecking order because your buying those seasoned internationals your talking about.

10.) 12 Feb 2018 11:39:52
also both players this season 25 games 4 goals. rasford has pogba mata martial lukaku to feed off while DCL has sniderlain rooney and lennon for most the season, and he has also played on the left a lot this season to accomodate niasse now and rooney earlier in the season so as i say very similar players.

11.) 12 Feb 2018 11:42:42
How is it a fact utd would have won the Europa if DCL had came through the ranks, got a place in the side and won the trophy, none of that is fact u don't know if he would have been deemed good enough by utd, if, he could of got in the team or if they would have even won, how is any of that a fact it didn't happen, rashford did it that is a fact it did happen.

12.) 12 Feb 2018 11:49:25
slate you didn't answer my question mate who did he dislodge? what seasoned international did he dislodge?
alls am saying is if DCL had the service rashford has had he would have scored more goals than rashford.

13.) 12 Feb 2018 11:58:57
truth is am bored in work and i knew someone would bite and help me pass some time, while i do stand by the statement DCL would score more than rashford given the service i do agree rashford is a very good player, thanks for getting me to lunch tho haha.

14.) 12 Feb 2018 12:13:21
Johnny they aren't even playing the same position, rashford has played more times than any other utd player this season I believe . In order to make those appearances he has to get past a host of players . Utd have used him as a provider from wide area's most times so he duznt feed on to much mate, if he started centrally his goals ratio would be higher, if harry Kane was moved wide his ratio would suffer never mind rashford. I don't know much about DCL and he may be a good player and in the future draw comparison to rashford but as it stands not just yet I'd imagine to most people .

15.) 12 Feb 2018 12:25:56
Enjoy yr lunch Johnny u can tell everyone about Everton's other world beaters another day and wait for the call from Barcelona if DCL scores another goal . I'm just off for lunch with Beyonce and and having DCL tattooed on my arm and that's a fact well a Scouse fact I call it .

16.) 12 Feb 2018 13:01:16
we don't have many world beaters mate but DLC is class as are a lot of our kids breaking threw we on the rise while jose drags you slowly further away from city.

17.) 12 Feb 2018 13:22:37
Ok mate IL keep an eye out for him during the world cup, unless he's busy on his playstation pretending he's rashford at the time .

18.) 12 Feb 2018 13:34:34
doing well for england isn't he what have england won again?

19.) 12 Feb 2018 14:01:14
Yeh yr rite if England don't win the world cup rashford is clearly pants . Clearly we would stroll it if rashford wasn't playing . What with all the masses demanding DCL start upfront I'm surprised there's not a petition in to downing Street .
Short of bubonic plague striking I think DCL can book his summer hols . Are there anymore Everton players we should Google to find out who they even are before they take a throw in and u compare them to pogba or sanchez.

20.) 12 Feb 2018 14:10:30
Wow, this is getting close to "I know you are you said you are so what am I? ". You didn't get 'a bite' you got people telling you that you were wrong, they are different things. It is an interesting discussion and it is clear you are a massive fan of DCL and good for you, but I suspect he won't have as good a career as Rashford, and if he does it won't be with Everton.

By the way, the seasoned international he pushed out is now playing for you on massive wages.

21.) 12 Feb 2018 14:20:03
GDS2 i didn't realise rooney played out on the left for yous mate my mistake.

22.) 12 Feb 2018 14:35:48
IL leave it at that we will just have to disagree about what's his face JFK, DCL or whoever being on a par with rashford, take care mate all in fun.

Everton fan here wondering what man utd predictions are for today? am going to start it off with 1-1 snooze fest. Mata first goal, Rooney equaliser late on.

johny1989

1.) 01 Jan 2018 12:09:44
I think you’ll do well, since that bore draw against us (Liverpool) you’ve down well against the top 4. I remember fat Sam again Mourinho a few years back when he got a draw against something like 38 shots? It’ll be a boring but interesting game in a sense.

2.) 01 Jan 2018 12:19:07
You won’t be far off mate.

3.) 01 Jan 2018 17:01:52
0-3 United. You heard it here first.
