Anything to the fresh Chiesa links coming out of Italy? Or are we *gasp* playing the transfer game to not delay forever and then just pay what Dortmund want for Sancho?

If your read what ED002 wrote about both players, it would give you an insight to what is happening. Sancho= overpriced, Chiesa= cheaper alternative who is still a very good player and due to the price etc a better option.

2.) 12 Jul 2020 13:08:56
Think Sancho will sign for us. Possibly as only signing though given £100m price being banded about. Chiesa and Dembele will be linked and certainly in the formers case he looks a quality player though Ed noting he’d prefer to stay in Italy.

I appreciate signing anyone may be dependent on achieving Champions League qualification next season though we look in a stronger position for that at the moment.

Chelsea have already invested well and look to be prioritising Havertz so don’t see Sancho heading there. Real, Barca, Juve, Liverpool all look to either have no money or already prioritised other players. Pep’s effectively stated City wouldn’t be back in for him and would presumably target Ferran Torres instead. I think, albeit through clearly Red White and Black tinted specs, that just leaves United in the frame if Sancho moves anywhere.

But we’ve been here before haven’t we!

We need to strengthen defence and not least reduce our wage bill by shifting Sanchez, Smalling, Rojo, Lingard, Mata who’ll likely not play for us again. Happily add Pereira and Jones to that list too. IF we sign a big hitter like Sancho as RW though I can’t see us being in for Grealish, Van de Beek, a CB, a LB or others unless we move those players on first.

Halesini you should note what ed002 said yesterday. It may very well happen with Chiesa if we can convince him to move to dreary Manchester.

Do you really think chelsea have bought well? Added 2 attacking players to a lot of other attacking players .
Gk back 4 and cm looks the issue to me .

Jred

I was thinking the same, and Werner is going to want CL football, the pressure is on them to get it now, possibly going to need a win at Anfield, interesting couple of weeks ahead.

6.) 12 Jul 2020 21:54:58
Chelsea like a few teams seem to need a CB and LB.
Offensively they’ve bought / look to be buying well.
Fascinating to see what happens if the ink isn’t dry though and there’s no Champions League. Especially re Havertz.

Anything on Rooney to China before the end of their window?

1.) 19 Feb 2017 23:05:46
Not likely at any time. He is already very rich and he loves it where he is even if there are too many footballers coming to Alderley Edge and knocking down lovely houses and building monstrous mansions in their place.

2.) 20 Feb 2017 10:31:08
Just paper talk, Rooney won't leave United at least until this summer and I personally reckon he will see his contract out then make a decision to carry on playing at United or somewhere else, he could also retire (very unlikely)

Is Sancho's price at all tied to Havertz's or visa versa? For example, if Havertz is confirmed at 70M, then I would assume it would be influence another attacker from the same league going to an English club of similar stature / resources. Would we be better off beating the Havertz deal across the line, or waiting to see if it can set a favourable market?

Stop now before you go any further would be my advice.

What would people say to Balotelli? He would definitely qualify as the surprise striker that LVG is talking about. He's clearly class, and at 24 is right at the age where you start to figure it out. Plus he'd be cheap. Plus we could rub it in Liverpool's face again!

h4ruki

{Ed001's Note - yes please do that. I think that would be a wonderful idea.}

1.) 29 Jul 2015 06:29:02
Great idea. He has a great attitude and has been a roaring success everywhere he has been. Seriously, you are either having a laugh or have banged your head. He is a waste of space

{Ed001's Note - perhaps a petition is in order? I could guarantee a lot of signatures backing the move. Probably be all Liverpool fans like, but it would certainly fill up quick.....

2.) 29 Jul 2015 06:59:35
Christ on a bike! What an idea this is.

You're surely on the wind up aren't you? If not then even if we get relegated this season we all know that we can come to you for some of whatever you're on and we'll forget all about it.

3.) 29 Jul 2015 07:22:05
If Balotelli lives to 124 he won't start to figure it out

4.) 29 Jul 2015 07:53:26
Shots fired 💥💥😲

5.) 29 Jul 2015 07:56:41
Fall out with lvg guaranteed within one hour of signature.
A big fat no thank you.

So you’re astounded how people can be so ignorant, but you won’t deign to step off your throne and explain? Because. then fans will be trashing people they don’t currently know are influential?

h4ruki

{Ed002's Note - So it seems I did explain. It is the cretins like you that keep me so cheerful.}

Definitely not to Jones at DM. His passing is so bad and would be totally exposed there.

I think we will see more from Fred as he gets more game time. He wins the ball a lot, even though he loses it as well. As he plays, and gets used to the speed of the game, the latter will improve and the former shouldn't go anywhere.

Midfield is light, but Jones is not the answer if we want to play how we want to play.

The problem with hiring Blanc for a team built around Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Lingard, Bailly, Fred, Young, Lukaku:

Fergie did want to keep Pogba, it was out of his hands. and while you might think Pogba has been disappointing his season, so has Lukaku, Rashford, Martial (most of the time), Bailly, Fred, Matic. who hasn't been disappointing? People might point to Shaw, but he hasn't gotten back to the 2-way beast he was looking like before his injury either.

I think when that many players aren't performing you have to look at the manager. And it's not like Mourinho's faults have been hard to see. Bizarre team selections and subs, consistently embarrassing behaviour, publicly sledging players all the time and bemoaning a lack of signings.

He's got to go. He's not one of us and he never will be.
