Hi eds, thers lots of rumours for hernandez and welbeck leaving but do u see any strikers coming in or will players like di maria, januzaj, n upcoming wilson be used as back up for tht role?

Shutts

{Ed002's Note - If Hernandez and Welbeck leave do not be surprised by a bid for a striker. I am not aware of interest but Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is looking for another club but probably wants Champions League football. Castaignos is another player who was expected to move this summer and is known to LvG. Perhaps a little something to keep us busy on Monday afternoon.}

1.) Would prefer remy :)

2.) 28 Aug 2014 19:28:18
I posted something similar yesterday talking about Remy however I wouldn't say no to Luc Castaignos

3.) Don't be surprised if it's a quick winger/forward.

4.) Anyone in mind syd?

5.) Out of interest James Wilson has been added to the first team squad

6.) I hope to see James Wilson used this season. I think he is ready to step up and needs game time. Any signings we do make up top could impact his development. I do like the idea of JW and AJ backing up our first choice strikers.

One thing that is a slight concern for me is that RVP is at the age where strikers especially can decline. Seems that football has taken its toll on his body over the years.

7.) Perhaps Viktor Fischer?

8.) If Reus is available surely we could be in for him?

9.) Promte wilson, agree with remy, think he'd be a good addition to the sqaud

10.) 29 Aug 2014 04:46:10
Ed002, what about Viktor Fischer? He would fit the bill wouldn't he?

{Ed002's Note - Clutching at straws man.}

11.) 29 Aug 2014 05:02:03
Ed002 - Is Aubemayang still available - and if so - have we expressed an interest?

{Ed002's Note - Clutching at straws man.}

12.) I think it will be Depay if anyone.

13.) Yeah something to keep us all busy, been a quiet summer so far for you ed eh :-)

14.) Is messi available! worth a try!

15.) I still think we'll come to regret it if Welbeck leaves.

He's perfect cover for Roo and RVP, and he's been improving rapidly. Another year or two and he could be really pushing Roo and RVP for the starting spot.

If Arsenal or Spurs get him he'll do well, and we won't get a suitable replacement without spending a fair bit more than we get for him.

This is for Eds and everyone else. As it seems attention has turned to william carvalho as you may have suggested. What is yours and everyones views on this player? I have never seen him play and nobody tell me based on youtube videos please!

1.) I haven't seen him play enough to make my own judgment but I've read several articles about him. Apparently not the quickest but he makes up for that as he reads the game so well. He's strong and is always willing to collect the ball from defenders and start a new attacking move. He could be a good signing and would allow the likes of Hererra and Mata more freedom further up the pitch. Also very young and will only get better with experience in a top league like the premiere league. Anything less than £25-£30M could be very good business.

2.) I have only seen him 5 or 6 times but what I've seen and read about him. He's a physical presence that we desperately need in midfield he breaks down the play and plays from deep. He however doesn't do a great deal going forward other than recycling the ball. At his age I'd say he has potential to be not world class but certainly a very high standard and he's already better than what we currently have. I'd be content if we signed him but that's only because we would have failed to sign vidal.

3.) 29 Aug 2014 14:33:13
I'm not a United fan but have looked at him and read various reports as he has also been linked to Arsenal.

It seems initial reports earlier last year raved about him, much like they did Wanyama.

However later reports I read stated he has struggled against the better sides.

Like a lot of young players they get hyped up but are not necessarily the player you were hoping for.

We all know the Premier League is a different ball game but who knows, Wanyama seems to be doing well at Southampton and I posted some stats on him on our page where Southampton did way better when he was playing to when he wasn't.

4.) I wrote the other day how Wanyama looked awesome against Liverpool. Exactly what Utd and Arsenal need, so if Carvalho is similar bring him on.

5.) 29 Aug 2014 16:02:34
People cite his perceived lack of pace but his positioning means he doesn't need to rely on pace and he is actually fairly quick when needed.

Also the way sporting play means he doesn't play 50 yard Hollywood pings upfront.

Hi Edds, has ther ever been any interest for ron vlaar. could u suspect a plan c option for man utd? I wudn't mind seeing him at utd. His WC performances didn't surprise me!

Shutts

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

1.) Plan C? More like plan H.

Desperation.

2.) More like plan z Sydney he is a disaster worse than what we have and is as injury prone

When it comes to FFP u need to think about MU revenue income from sponsors, stadium and shirt sales etc etc. and nt just for this year alone. so in terms of transfer fees FFP isn't as big a worry for us. However wages cannot increase by more than 4 million each season I think. but louis van gaal will have a smaller squad so this isn't an issue. more players have left or leaving thn coming in! despite those in having bigger wages.

Surely mr van gaal knows more then us all put together x 1 million!
