watch every game herrera has played for united and a few when he was at bilbao, first game against galaxy he was class but in all the other games all he does is over run the ball, give it away and then foul, everyone just saying he is the best player, just because he is a new signing. he is 25 never played champions league football or played for the spanish team and cost 29m! put that in prospective, fabregas only cost 1m more at 30m! who would you rather?

RedDevilJakester

1.) Fabregas cost more than double what Herrera cost and Herrera is 3-4 years younger. As a central midfielder I would prefer Herrera. Cesc is lazy and doesn't track back. Before Herrera was signed or even on the radar myself and others on this page wanted him here. He is a quality player and just what we have been missing. Vidal would be the other piece of the jigsaw.

2.) Agree with Syd on this one. Cesc's wages are nearly double Herrera's. I think Cesc is a better player from an attacking point of view but defensively Herrera is the better player and is better suited to what our squad needed.

3.) RedDevil - couldn't agree more. He has given the ball away loads and makes stupid fouls from the games I have seen him in a Utd shirt. Didn't see Galaxy but by all accounts my mum could have ran the midfield in that game.

Watching Madrid, Liverpool & Roma - he was very poor, maybe its because all I read was praise and continue to read this for him, I was expecting to see a lot more. I'm sure he is much better than what I have seen thus far, but if that is what people are raving about it is horrible how low our standards have stooped.

4.) Cesc's salary is almost FOUR times the amount of Herrera's. That's if you believe the reports that he is on £180k a week at Chelsea. Herrera is on £45k a week.

5.) 12 Aug 2014 16:35:23
Wow , the Herrera backlash has kicked in before he's even played ONE competitive match

6.) Beast, still think we are selling Rooney and Mata in the next two and a half weeks?

7.) Sydney, Woodward said money isn't a problem, so why did he go for the cheap option?

8.) MU were interested in Cesc, but he chose to join Chelsea. He has very strong links to London. His missus and children were living there already. Ed Woodward didn't go for the cheap option, he went for an alternative.

9.) Money is no object apparently so wages shouldn't come into it.

Syd - I wasn't expecting LVG to change to 3 CB's and wing backs considering we have no experience back there or numbers. I was also expecting Rooney to throw his toys out because RVP is LVG's main man - that situation is yet to emerge as RVP was away.

Furthermore with wingers on the way in, I don't see how he can keep all our number 10's and strikers happy! Time will tell, but I can see Rooney at Chelsea still. One of Rooney or Mata will be missing out if Di Maria is signed.

There are a lot of things happening that surprise me. I don't think we have a plan at all because the players we need aren't available - Rojo?!

10.) They are completely different players, as we like to speak in numbers on here, herrera is more of a number 8 and fabregas is a number 10

11.) Herrara has played champs league he played against utd

12.) 12 Aug 2014 18:48:45
Wow, what a miserable post from a fickle fan.

He was probably Bilbao's most talented player, got 4 assists on his debut which is more than what Cleverley and Carrick got all of last season combined. He's creative, energetic and plays with flair yet you still feel the need to moan? Dear oh dear what is wrong with you.

13.) Why can't people just judge performances without jumping on posters backs for it?

I'm pleased we signed Herrera but that doesn't mean he automatically gets top marks every time he plays!

If anybody says Herrera looked good in the Roma, Madrid or Liverpool games then they have very low standards. I am confident this was him at his worst, but that is all the original poster has said. He hasn't shone as people are harping on about, I'm sure he will. But he hasn't been amazing and we need much better than that if we want to compete.

Kick off time, let's hope he impresses.

14.) Well if he hasn't impressed you in this game then you are blind (and I don't mean Daley). He's been excellent Beast.

lets be honest we all want vidal to sign but its gone on for too long and we probably won't sign, also were probably not even looking for another cm after we signed the overrated herrera for 29m! we will probably only sign a winger and a centre back

RedDevilJakester

1.) 11 Aug 2014 23:44:23
The overrated Hererra? Bet you've watched about 90 minutes of him! Has all the potential in the world, and will turn out to be a quality player. Muppet

2.) RDJ, we don't all want Vidaltsign, the are tether options out there without the injury concerns and without having spend towards £50M. People are getting obsessed with 1 player

ed's, is it true vidal has put his house up for sale?

RedDevilJakester

{Ed004's Note - I've seen the rumours but there's no way of verifying it}

1.) Come in Ed.
You could just go all out and buy it.
Take one for the team ;)

{Ed004's Note - If only I had the money to. Italy is apparently a nice place to live never been there.}

2.) Ed apparently we have made a bid of around 40 mill plus 200k wages for Vidal that should seal the move.

{Ed004's Note - Hopefully}

3.) 20 Jul 2014 18:15:38
Me make a bid everyday if you believe twitter.
Ed, you don't have to buy it, just make derogatory offers for it :)

we have to sign a centre midfielder now as carrick is out for 3 months and he is our only reliable centre mid, hopefully we will force through the vidal deal now :). we also need a centre back, hopefully we will sign varane or hummels for this position, these signings would improve our squad immensely and make use title contenders!

RedDevilJakester

1.) Apparently the op has improved his pace, but they're slightly worried he'll lose it again once he gets off the crutches.

2.) 17 Jul 2014 20:02:50
Nails. that is So harsh but made me laugh my butt off

3.) I have a feeling the surprise resignation of Conte has given Juventus cold feet in selling Vidal.

If its true Conte resigned because Vidal would be sold, Agnelli and the directors at Juventus may fear severe protests from fans. If they sell Vidal now, the resignation will ultimately be connected with Juventus "selling" their best players.

I think they would have liked to present the sales of Pogba or Vidal as intelligent business. Profits would be re-invested, the team would improve, and the sales would ultimately pave a way for a return to knockout phases of the champions league on a regular basis. - One thing Conte has failed to achieve.

Agnelli did seem to leave a bit of room for something to happen. He stated something along the lines of selling the player only if they wanted to leave?

I think we are in a position where Vidal will have to submit a transfer request to push a move through. Juve directors will then be able to justify the sale without loosing face.

That probably means us paying an additional 3-4 million so that vidal receives the money he will loose if he has to submit a transfer request.
I hope we would pay that extra sum, but the transfer has dragged on already because of an inability to compromise over a fee. Any extra payment and I think it may be the end of the deal.

4.) Lol nails, that made me chuckle!

5.) Redisotope, I agree. I was trying to make the same argument yesterday. Juventus may need a little time to make the transfer look good on their end.
