RIP Mr Charlton. A true great of the game.

The most important signing you should be making this summer is, and i'm sure will be, the new manager
Is it POCH or TH? Are there any others?
Keane had it right when he said, if you want a certain man, go and get him. Doesn't matter how long he has on his contract or how much compo it will cost. If he is the right man, it doesn't matter
When the man comes in, he needs time. He will need 3 to 4 years to assemble the squad he wants and to implement the style of football he wants to play
He also has the dealings of clearing out the players that won't fit into his system and that takes time
I don't think RR would be the best choice and i also don't think Poch is the right choice either. I think it has to be someone proven to do it at the highest level and can deal with all the crap that comes with the high profile players
I would suggest you don't have a single player that will get into the Liverpool or City teams, and that includes on the bench
Your squad needs a lot of work right the way through the team
Goalkeeper, ok but isn't getting any younger and will need replacing soon enough. Is Henderson a good replacement? I would suggest yes, but if not, who?
Your defenders are truly shocking. Is Varane really all that? He was, and is still good, but for how long? Not long term. The rest of the defence isn't worth mentioning
Midfield, give me some names of players worthy of retaining their place in the squad?
Strikers, who have you got? The only decent player was MG and we all know where he might be going
Marcus Rashford? Take your blinkers off and you'd see he was never going to be a world class player. How many seasons has he had now under how many managers? And still hasn't improved. And before you all start saying he wasn't getting the minutes, have a think about why he wasn't getting them? Because he wasn't and isn't good enough
Your new manager has a lot of work to do, which is why he has to be the right man and is given the right amount of time
You will get it right and will be back up there again at some point. These things work in circles and your time will come around again
Patience is the word and understanding the size of the task ahead
Get the right man in first and foremost, give him the time and tools he needs and let him get on with it
It will come so just be patient and understand the bigger picture and most importantly, accept the situation. It will make the whole situation a lot easier on you.

Agree with that. ?.

2.) 08 Mar 2022 22:20:07
Realistically we shouldn’t go anywhere near Poch. He’s not the answer for the mess we’re in.

Give it to Ralf along with the power to clear out the pampered primos we have. That way when we bring in our favoured long term manager, they’re not fighting a lost cause like his/ her predecessors.

Project reboot during 22/ 23 season.

3.) 09 Mar 2022 07:27:03
Lvg,

Your absolutely spot on.

4.) 09 Mar 2022 09:04:21
Like a broken record all this. Get the right man, give him time etc. Time for most people these days is 3 months, not 3-4 years.

None of this will happen. Ever. We scrutinise half by half let alone match by match now. As
Soon as there a few defeats, and there will be, the. The dressing room leaks come out and the fans turn. Tedious but sadly true.

5.) 09 Mar 2022 09:16:56
I’m advocate of the above. Give it Ralf - clear out the rotten apples and build a young, hungry squad.

6.) 09 Mar 2022 10:22:43
One big problem- we are not an attractive option for players, at least unless we pay mega bucks to mercenary snowflakes and that is definately what we don't need!
city, liverpool and chelsea have long overtaken us as go to clubs and now we have the money off the geordies as another contender for players. The way we have treated the players will resonate among clubs on an international platform and certainly sway decisions away.

"We plan on having Jadon Sancho in our team this season, the decision is final. I think that answers all our questions, " Zorc told reporters on Monday.

You might not be waking alone but you've wandered into the wrong page😂.

2.) 10 Aug 2020 18:06:44
Quality Ken.

Seems like they’re a little worried about us again. Must be doing something right.

{Ed047's Note - what have you gone and done right now?

Did I miss it? 😉🤣

3.) 10 Aug 2020 18:11:56
Only banter boys.

4.) 10 Aug 2020 18:19:56
lol Ken :)

5.) 10 Aug 2020 19:14:56
ken, did you miss the letter ‘n’ in your reply? 😂.

6.) 10 Aug 2020 18:47:25
Bruno ed47

hopefully.

{Ed047's Note - no I meant since then, he’s a definite when it comes to getting things right.

I can’t believe there weren’t other clubs in for him Deependra.

7.) 11 Aug 2020 04:22:23
Many clubs looked at Bruno with varying level of interest. There were reports Barcelona and Real were keeping an eye on him and I think even ed2 confirmed so. But his asking price was seen as quite high and him moving from Serie A to Portuguese league must have given people some doubt and the overall quality of the Portuguese league isn't considered great.

These things meant ultimately it was mostly Spurs who were showing anywhere close to serious interest alongside us.

But still I too am surprised at the lack of serious competition we had for him with. I genuinely believe if Arsenal had signed him instead of us You guys would be ahead of us in the table.

{Ed0666's Note - One decent purchase in the last 5 seasons and all of a sudden you’re masters of the transfer market .....I’m only joshing with you...😂

8.) 11 Aug 2020 05:10:54
AWB isn't too shabby either ed47.

For all the criticism of Ole, he has moved on some high earning underachievers and identified the positions to be strengthened.

{Ed047's Note - no I like AWB, not so great going forward yet but excellent defensively.

No argument from me on the 2nd part either, similar job ahead for Arteta.

daily telegraph:
Manchester United will listen to offers for Alexis Sanchez, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Jesse Lingard and Diogo Dalot as they seek to raise transfer funds. Should raise of about £30 bob.

RD

1.) 15 Jul 2020 17:24:28
Would have to put them on the pound aisle and hope for the best 😂.

2.) 15 Jul 2020 19:05:06
Would still be bigger than liverpool's transfer budget this season.

3.) 15 Jul 2020 19:50:56
It will be a Bogof.

4.) 16 Jul 2020 13:23:57
Don't be silly.

5.) 16 Jul 2020 15:54:22
We should be able to raise £30-£50m if all of them are cleared out, but the biggest plus would be getting their wages off the books.

08 May 2013 16:48:22
So old blue nose is calling it a day. Can't knock what he's done for the club, but hope he enjoys his retirement

So, David Moyes or the Special one?

A hard act to follow for anyone

(Liverpool fan)

RD

1.) Neither, has to be klopp for me

I don't think ETH should be washing his transfer business in public saying he wants to build a team around FDJ. Or did he?
Has he openly said that in public? I doubt it, so you have no idea
He will be working very hard behind the scenes with his team to put deals together for the players he'd like. Timber, Anthony, Martinez, Onana. How many players do you think AJAX will let him take in one sitting? FDJ is probable and maybe 1 in from AJAX but but Give him a break . He knows what he wants, let him get on with it. He's got plenty of time.

Torqs you are seriously deluded
Gone are the days when clubs pay a fee and a decent wage. Now they will pay what ever it takes
350k a week, seriously? How can you defend that?
You think that’s going to make you a title winning team? Not a chance
BTW, you didn’t miss out on Bale, but chances are United are the only club that can afford him. He would be another +300k a week player
Next time another club pays a high fee for a player, before you start slating them, have a look at the figures United are chucking at players.

I echo that. Thoughts and prayers go to him, his wife, family and friends. Some things really are bigger than football and rivalry's.

Sad if true but no sympathy if found guilty. No place in this world for such vile behaviour
A very promising talent possibly pi$$ed up the wall. What an utter moron and deserves all what's coming to him if proved.

Who is available to take over if Ole were sacked?
Chelsea (Tuchel) and Spurs (Conte) were available at them times and the clubs acted. There are currently no out of work top Manager's at this moment, so i'm not sure what you want the club to do? Appoint an interim manager that wouldn't normally fit the bill?
I still think you will be in or around the top 4 come the end of the season, and after that, i would think your board will act.
We've been there many many times over that 30 year period so know what it feels like, so not here to take the pi$$.

Stevie G doesn't have the experience to manage a club the size of yours. He is better off where he is for now to learn the trade
I have no doubt he will manage Liverpool at some point, but not for a while, and certainly not until he is ready
Frank Lampard is in too early @ Chelsea with no experience. Ole maybe the same for you. I thought he did enough last season to warrant a run in the job, but that clearly isn't the case
I don't think it's a case he wasn't backed, because he was. The players you went for were not available, not because he couldn't get them
I would suspect the club will already have the feelers out in regard to looking to make a change before the January window opens. But who is the question.
