Thanks @BFRO I'm looking forward to the Han Solo movie, think it could be a lot of fun!

Ryan's Left Foot and Ed004 always back the boys, it's just got me worried. Obviously with Fergie you had a faith that the team would find their way and faith in the consistency of results. That consistency is only starting to come back now, and the faith in results, for me, was totally eroded over the last few years.

I'm hoping it's going to be a good run in, and I'd be happy to see us look competitive all the way through. I also think that will be enough to get us into top 4, hopefully!

And to Ed's point, absolutely agree. Wouldn't change it through, my favourite run ins have always been when we have been competing on all fronts right the way to the end.

Been quite a while since I've been around, life has been mental, but hopefully got a bit of time to pop in here.
First up, great site thanks to all the Ed's and regular contributors.

What are your thoughts on our run in? It looks tough, and I worry we will come unstuck.?

We've had a really good run, without showing strong performances against top sides, so I think we have to maximise now to make up for that run in.

On the flip side, if we do well before the run in, and then power on to the end, we would easily get second.

{Ed004's Note - It is going to be a tough run in especially as we have quite a few of the top teams left to play and are competing on so many fronts. However, as long as we don't get any serious injuries or suspensions I think we have just as much of a chance of getting top 4 as all the other teams. It's going to be very close at the top of the table come the end of the season}

I think the run in could work in our favour. as we will be playing the teams slightly above us in the table (if it stays the same as it is now) the run in gives us the opportunity to leapfrog them one at a time - as long as the gap isn't greater than 2 points. We will be in control of where we end up rather than hoping one of the other teams do us a favour. certainly makes it exciting though.

Nordamic . Good post that was just about to post something similar. It's going to be very entertaining this run in but I feel we have the squad and Management team to win more this season. ( nice avatar dude. The force is with you-always)

We should be top for after next 3 EPL games, can we deliver and can we stay there? I would back us to get the results we need (win or draw) in the final few games.

Best thing about our run in is playing 4 of the top 6 puts our destiny in our own hands.

Chipping in on the lucky/ unlucky theme.

If you're good enough you make your own luck surely?

What the stats suggest, in my opinion, is that we keep possession and stay compact. But we don't take risks often or quickly enough. And that's reflected in how we play.

Some of that is legacy of the last few years, some is the players and some is the manager.

I'm not a Jose fan, but i do believe he has to be given the time to implement his style. Personally i think if the goals and performances aren't showing through next season then he isn't going to achieve it.

DSG you've hit the nail on the head there. Keane and Pogba went because they weren't (for different reasons) getting any experience in the first squad. The reason the class of 92 worked was because there was a mass cull to allow 4/ 5 first team places to come available.
We can't do that regularly, but there should be cycle to allow spaces to come up. The squad was too static for about 5 years and then compounded by transfer mistakes to block the path.
I'd prefer to see either trust the existing and add in some youth players or go and get a top line defender.

He will move again for the next contract, so we won't have him more than 5years and will lose him on a free.

Not a bad shout. I wouldn't keep Mata and Rooney in the same team as I'd want to keep the energy/ pace high. Probably would make it rashford/ martial/ Rooney, Herrera/ Schneiderlin, Carrick and whichever defenders are fit!
