Juventus to sign Marcelo leaving the door open for Alex Sandro to make his move to Manchester United.

Was speaking to a client in work who's pub landlords daughter is Danny Rose partner. (Bare with me)

Apparently she told him that he will end up in Manchester (Didn't say which side)

I know this has been mentioned on sky sports but this is the first I've spoken to him in a while.

Make of it what you will but I for one would take him without hesitation.

1.) 11 Aug 2017 08:26:37
Think it's pretty obvious he's leaving now.

I hope it's to United cause something tells me City aren't going to splash the cash on yet another full back.

2.) 11 Aug 2017 08:32:54
Super rumour, really hope its true.

3.) 11 Aug 2017 09:23:29
Those are the best kind of rumours.

4.) 11 Aug 2017 10:26:11
He'd be a top signing for us, or for anyone for that matter wherever he goes but not sure City need Mendy and Rose.

Rose and Walker are best mates though apparently and so wonder if he will sway it for the blue noses.

5.) 11 Aug 2017 10:36:22
He did everything but put in a transfer request. I cannot see Spurs hanging onto him. And to be honest, I'm not sure I want a player who has complete disregard for his manager and club at United. Who's to say he doesn't do the same if he came here.

6.) 11 Aug 2017 10:36:49
Surely can't go to city with the full backs they've bought. Might give Shaw a kick up the arse if he's got some serious competition. Or get his sold next year. ha.

7.) 11 Aug 2017 11:38:34
We have had club 'legends' do similar things Angel. Hope we sign him because he is miles better than anyone we have in that position.

8.) 11 Aug 2017 12:03:46
If my maths serves me right he's played 21 fewer matches than the forever injured Gareth Bale over the past three seasons. He'd be an excellent friend for Luke Shaw in the crutch crew.

9.) 11 Aug 2017 12:05:45
Sorry ken, top of my head I can't remember exactly who went out of their way to do it the way Danny Rose did the other day. I think you might be alluding to Rooney for sure, but ever since he did that I wanted shot of him because of his lack of unprofessionalism.

I found it very remarkable what he did. I'm not sure jose would be too fond of that.

10.) 11 Aug 2017 12:27:27
Right player handling this situation in the wrong manner.

11.) 11 Aug 2017 13:30:55
Don't believe any of the rose news or even if we are interested. he has been out for a long time and can't see any sane person paying a ton of money for a player who is yet to play a game after a major injury and the unknown factor if he is even going to be able to perform at the previous level and on top of that also having to deal Levy who is as difficult as they get. Common sense says all bs and papers trying to sell papers.

12.) 11 Aug 2017 13:37:09
We all had a little chuckle at the kyle walker fee imagine how much rose will cost! Probably more than walker if it's us involved .

13.) 11 Aug 2017 16:19:20
"a client in work who's pub landlords daughter is Danny Rose partner"

Love it Rambo! 😀.

Wazza I love these rumours myself and was laughing at how far fetched it sounded as I was writing it 😂

Hopefully he's right👍.

Just had an update regarding transfers from a friend of mine who works as a sports journalist in Spain. APPARENTLY.

Sergio Ramos has rejected a new contract offer from Madrid. He will only be allowed to join United on 2 conditions:

1) if he asks to leave the club publicly so that the current president isn't faced with uproar by the Madrid fans for letting him go

2) United pay around the 43 million mark and accept the 23 million on the table for DDG

This is the first piece of football related information he has given to me since moving to Spain so I am not sure how reliable it is. Thought I would pass on the word as this is a rumour site after all.

Cheers
JR

1.) 06 Aug 2015 23:29:59
I've heard that Ramos has rejected the contract offer. Supposedly offer around 5.3m p/y and wants nearer 7. In one of the major papers but can't say if it's reliable

{Ed004's Note - In all honesty I think I would offer De Gea and 20 million right now. Our net spend (after Evans is gone and possibly Hernandez) will be close to nothing and there is still time to sign a keeper like Lloris for 20/25 million. If those signings were made we would have possibly the best defence and midfield in the premiership for not that big a spend. However I still expect him to sign a new contract}

2.) 07 Aug 2015 00:12:24
Best midfield in the league I don't think so Ed think that's just biasty now. Fabregas and Matic are streets ahead

{Ed004's Note - I can understand your point but didn't we dominate possession in Stamford Bridge at the end of the season when we had started to click and play as a team? I have high hopes for our midfield but there are arguments for Arsenals and Chelsea's as well}

3.) 07 Aug 2015 07:40:47
Well schnerderlin was outstanding last season. Add that to Carrick who is quality whoever he is up against I to see a better pairing than matic and fab. And coqulein and Ramsey/cazorla.
Schnerderlin deal along with darmian is our best business so far

4.) 07 Aug 2015 07:58:01
I agree Ed, I'd be happy to start a few games with Romero as long as we could get in Lloris and I think Cilessen has potential if he bulks up a bit. Would be a great team esp with another top striker/pedro in

5.) 07 Aug 2015 08:02:18
Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger Carrick Hererra Mata > Matic Fabregas Ramirez Obi Mikel Oscar.

Matic & Fabregas streets ahead? Silly comment.

6.) 07 Aug 2015 09:04:25
Agreed ed 004 I'd definitely pay 43 million for ramos! He is the only player we need that could be vital in winning a trophy next year

7.) 07 Aug 2015 09:12:56
is oascar willian and hazard not part of the midfield.

arsenal midfield is also very strong

8.) 07 Aug 2015 09:48:41
Schwensteiger is finished and injury prone, Carrick is a crock, and Schneiderlin will simply be a flop and very overrated but you have a great midfield, good to see the comedy geniuses are out.

9.) 07 Aug 2015 11:00:34
@MIGHTY REDS one word - HENDERSON ! see you bye

10.) 07 Aug 2015 11:03:04
Lol @ jred

Well said.

11.) 07 Aug 2015 11:23:36
Yes Mighty Red!! can't wait to see Milner and Henderson destroy Basti/Carrick/Schneiderlin.

12.) 07 Aug 2015 13:20:45
lol lloris. I don't think so!!!

13.) 07 Aug 2015 13:20:45
lol lloris. I don't think so!!!

14.) 07 Aug 2015 14:19:49
Jred,
For me those players aren't, in the same way mata, young delay, and januzaj aren't. I concur with 004 on this one I'm afraid. And yes our midfield is streets ahead of arsenal.

15.) 07 Aug 2015 17:59:10
Mighty plank is a bigger barrel of laughs than Big Al. At least Big Al has a working brain.

16.) 07 Aug 2015 02:21:50
Ed004, The best keeper in the world +20m for a 30 yr old defender who got torn apart by an average Dutch team in the world cup?

{Ed004's Note - So we are highlighting one game from a year ago? I'm sure if you pick out any player who has played for a decade or so at the highest level you will find a poor display. What about mentioning all the seasons were he was in the team of the year etc. It's either a swap or we get nothing for De Gea next season}

17.) 08 Aug 2015 10:55:15
I'd swap DDG for Ramos.

Thomas Lemar free to leave apparently

In an ideal world who would you rather have.

Lemar or Demebele?

I remember before his move to Atletico he looked a smashing talent but hasn't worked out for him.

Not even sure if we are interested or have a shout but would surely be a cheaper alternative to JS.

JohnRambo

1.) 30 Sep 2020 15:59:25
I’d completely forgotten about Lemar to be honest. It looks like things haven’t worked out for him at all in Spain.

On a side note, looking at the goals and assists tallies for other wingers really does emphasize what a special talent Sancho is.

{Ed002's Note - Lemar is not joining Manchester United.}

2.) 30 Sep 2020 16:14:57
He'd be a shout, there are others I'd probably go for ahead of him, but he would add a new dimension. Lacking a little top end pace, but very clever and versatile.

20 Jul 2020 00:46:00
Without being too negative and trying to be rational.

There comes a time when you have to let go. And that's how I feel about De Gea now

I want him to be superb every week but sadly that's just not the case anymore

If you read the quotes from Henderson and how Ole wants us to play I think you'll make up your own mind!

Hendo wants to be number 1 and has basically said he's ready and better than DDG rn but in a respectful way

I'd take the chance. What have we got to lose DDG has lost us points this season but I'd prefer we give the time to an up and coming rather than provide excuses for Dave. Amazing servent to the club but now. It needs to stop ✋

Never disrespectful to DDG who has been unbelievable in his time. But now the game belongs to another!

Hunger is the main thing and I believe the kid will excel

Thoughts?

JR.

1.) 20 Jul 2020 05:36:06
He's gotten the benefit of the doubt quite a few times for now. For me, Romero starts all the games till the end of Europa league.
Henderson and De Gea can fight it out next season, and one of them can leave the season after.

2.) 20 Jul 2020 08:34:39
the thing with us is every time we make a mistake it results in a goal against us.

3.) 20 Jul 2020 09:25:40
In 5 FA cup games this season Romero has conceded 1 goal, in 90 minutes of FA cup action DDG has conceded 3.

4.) 20 Jul 2020 10:08:11
So what your saying bolger is that our team makes more mistakes than they should.

5.) 20 Jul 2020 11:21:10
Dean Henderson has to come in now.

Change of subject away from transfer news.

I read some quotes from Ole who said something along the lines of when he arrives for the day at 7am he expected to be the first person there before training etc. but has come in to McKenna and Carrick already there setting up drills/ sessions for each day and working to ensure everything runs to plan in line with the vision of the coaching staff.

I think this speaks volumes for the type of people we have as part of the setup at the moment. McKenna has had an unbelievable rise in the last few years and credit has to be given as he has worked hard and been rewarded (rightly so) - I really want to remain optimistic about the upcoming season and hope that the players take note of how to act as a professional (using Carrick and McKenna as examples)

Carrick was extremely hard working as a player and was the ultimate professional and McKenna seems to be cut from the same cloth although from 2 different sporting backgrounds they have ended up in a very good position.

My main point from this is that we have a coaching team who are determined to get their methods/ style across to the players. What are your thoughts on the current coaching setup and will hard work and determination be enough to get us back firing again?

Cheers.

JohnRambo

1.) 16 Jul 2019 10:50:30
Hard work and determination will be a good start.
The jury is out on mckenna and carrick but they worked uh ever 2 bosses last session and as a result struggled. They had a very poor unbalanced squad last season so not fair to judge them.
We have good 'club men' at the helm now. Lots to be positive about. Clear out some of the riff raff and we will be a lot better off.
Really looking forward to the season john.

2.) 16 Jul 2019 11:04:39
Nice to hear about the dedication of the coaching staff's. Looks like they are really determined to succeed.
I read an article in MEN which stated we are doing relentless passing drills at every opportunity this pre-season.
Hope everything comes to fruition in the important games.

3.) 16 Jul 2019 11:08:11
i rememeber jose applauding the "M-A-N" in Carrick as a key reason in him joining the coaching staff. Call me old school but i think that is key - the work ethic and professionalism coupled with respect among peers having played at a high level for so long. And jose is a pretty decent judge of strength of charachter.

4.) 16 Jul 2019 13:17:15
That's good to hear. If the players can't take inspiration from the coaching team's dedication then they don't have the right attitude to play for our club.

I'm sure the majority do, and we will see an improvement this coming season.

5.) 16 Jul 2019 18:28:48
I have a lot of time for Carrick, seems to have a serious degree of calmness about him. To succeed as a manager he will need more but if Jose saw something then it says a lot.

Great point Sailor. It's like some sort of curse their players have once they leave, I remember when we signed Kagawa I was delighted and thought he'd bring a whole new dynamic to our team but again never worked out.

Cheers for the reply Ed.

Does he not play off the wing as a wide forward tho?

He's lightening quick and think he'd be a better option than Rash or Jesse behind Lukaku (I only mention Rash as I think he's destined to play as a number 9)

His record last 3 seasons is quality - 21 in 23 this season, 40 in 46 last year and 39 in 49 season before that.

I personally think he's a better option than what we have and would improve our squad, who else is banging in goals at that rate for us.

JohnRambo

{Ed004's Note - Mkhitaryan also produced figures as impressive as Aubameyangs at Dortmund and he has struggled massively here. If Lukaku had not been signed I would probably be all for signing him but there is no point signing another striker to play him out wide. Aubameyang has been Dortmunds main striker since Lewandowski left}
