Hi eds, any update on Vidal. And do you think united will get Hummels.

{Ed002's Note - A bid for Vidal is imminent. I suspect a deal can be done for Hummels unless Barcelona.}

1.) Hopefully the bid for Vidal will be the correct amount.
Also, at first I thought we didn't have a chance for hummels, but now it's getting more likely!
Let's hope we can snatch him up before barca do.

2.) Evra just been announced at juve so let's keep our fingers crossed now

3.) Im getting very excited. Fingers crossed for both these deals :)

4.) Edd002 with the best thing I've heard all day.

6.) Apparently Ed Woodward is leaving the US Tour today for "General business reasons" so it looks like signing(s) could be happening soon

7.) If we got Vidal and Hummels I would be in dreamland.

8.) Would be amazing to beat Barca on Hummels, my feeling is that it will be either Hummels or Blind - would love it to be both

Hi Eds, just wondering if you believe JM about just the 4 signings this summer. If a deal was struck for Pogba would that be it? Or could you see some squad players being added. Thanks.

He never said only 4 signings I think he identified 4 areas where we needed to strengthen. Then others could possibly come due to others leaving.

I think Jose is referring to the 'fundamental market' ie Zlatan, Micki, Bailly and Pogba to be first teamers. If that displaces say Mata, Blind, Rojo, Schweinsteiger then we may look to replace them but in essence with squad players. Don't think anyone really seen Bailly so we are still short at CB though I'm curious as to whether Fosu-Mensah could play there. He could be RB, CB or DM from what I've seen but think RB not his best position and likely competition for midfield would be too great even without Pogba.

Jose does like to work with a smaller squad so we could see as many as 9/ 10 players going with say 6 brought in?

Interesting times regardless.

I share most people's view of Fellaini but possibility he may actually suit Jose's high pressing style when adopted. Maybe more so than a very injury prone and frankly very average (in a United shirt) Schweinsteiger?

Think Jose will trim the age of the squad too. Need some natural older leaders in there who've served the club a long time hence Carrick and Rooney safe though neither guaranteed first teamers 100%. Zlatan obviously adds to that though expect likes of Young and Valencia to go (at least one if not both) .

Players moving out for me are:

Mata - will be a great asset to any other side but not a Jose player
Blind - versatility badge may hinder him and not the physical presence Jose needs
Rojos - not good enough
Schweinsteiger - £200k a week not justified on one so injury prone who just hasn't shown his obvious talent in a United shirt
Valencia - 31 now and better options at RB
McNair - not United grade at CB or his preferred midfield.
Jones - must go on his injury record but if we don't sign another CB (which we must surely) then he will be given a chance.
Varela - already gone
Blackett - already gone.

He said he identified four signings and wanted them done early, finished with saying and after they're signed the transfer window will still be open. So say Bale or some other player that will improve the squad becomes available they may be signed also.

So Hummels is "thinking about going to united" according to Klopp. Does this mean a bid has been made and accepted? And also Clyne has said of his disire of playing in the CL, do you expect him to be moving this season.

Ed002 i see in most comments you are saying that deals may depend on managerial change. Do you believe Van Gaal will be sacked even if top four is got? If so why? And who would be the replacement?

004 what is your view on the chances?
Im really optimistic but I think an offer of £28+ might be the only way.

{Ed004's Note - Would take a bid of 30 mill maybe even a bit more to get him. Benatia is a suitable alternative}

2.) Ed I think we can rule out a move for Benatia as he will be a replacement for either madrid for varane or he will be heading to man city. Roma are also in discussions to sign Davide Astori so it is an indication that Benatia maybe on the way out .

Eds, firstly great site. Was just wondering if you could maybe narrow down who you think we will sign before September. Personally I think we need a top centre back, good holding midfielder and maybe a winger
