Duncan Castles reporting we want Ronaldo. He seems reliable enough source.

Fit finaly

1.) 18 Jun 2017 10:01:19
Will end up at psg if he leaves.

2.) 18 Jun 2017 11:41:49
Will sign a new contract at Madrid and they will pay his tax bill.

3.) 18 Jun 2017 12:03:50
Madrid will not pay his tax bill. He may stay but the club will not pay for his mistakes if he is found guilty.

4.) 18 Jun 2017 12:44:36
Maybe not officially. but I'm sure Madrid will offer enough bonuses etc to give him more than enough to pay it off.

5.) 18 Jun 2017 13:27:01
Which will be subject to more tax 😐

Ronaldo ain't going to happen fellas. Let's move on.

6.) 18 Jun 2017 15:06:12
Di Marzio has just said Ronnie wants the move back and has told Mendes to do whatever he can to bring him back. Still seems a bit far fetched, can't see it happening : (.

7.) 18 Jun 2017 15:18:05
If and it's a big if he moves there is only one destination can you imagine woodys face if he brought him back! It would be the biggest transfer in football history imo both financially and in terms of exposure.

It would be a huge deal for the club.

Oh and if it did happen I would have a cheeky tenner on us for the champions league next season 😉.

8.) 18 Jun 2017 16:23:55
Does anyone think that Adidas would help with the financial if Ronny comes back and James along?

9.) 18 Jun 2017 16:57:39
666 Why would Adidas help make the move happen. There is no way on this planet that it would happen as it doesn't benefit them in any way, shape or form.

10.) 18 jun 2017 18:22:42
yeah they will be jumping with glee to see him plastered in nike at every opportunity.

11.) 19 Jun 2017 04:42:28
Bald Duncan gets his news mostly from mendes, it would be in mendes's interest to have utd interested in ronaldo would help in his new contract negotiations, by end of the window ronaldo will have had a change of heart thanks to a new contract and we will sign morata.

12.) 19 Jun 2017 07:08:54
Amazing talent and work-ethic apart, doesn't say much about him that he squeaks at paying his tax bill and throws his dummies out of the pram, demanding the parent club pay it, even though he must be worth hundreds of millions.

But we all know he'll won't leave Madrid this season: they'll come to some sort of deal. Let's concentrate on original targets and get them in before pre-season.

13.) 19 Jun 2017 09:37:26
He's kicking a stink up so Real pay his tax bill then he will sign a new deal with them.
Some united fans are obsessed with him, he left us 7 seasons ago. let it go for god sake.

14.) 19 Jun 2017 09:42:16
We need to move on from Ronaldo and build a team for the next decade. I hope to god we don't do anything stupid. He is not the future and the past imo.

15.) 19 Jun 2017 10:03:29
Why the hell would RM pay his tax bill? They already pay his wages. If he doesn't pay his taxes it has nothing to do with RM.

Those who think RM will simply pay his taxes are living on another planet.

16.) 19 Jun 2017 10:48:17
MAZE. "why the hell would RM pay his tax bill"
Errr let me think so he doesn't leave the club.
This reminds me a certain my Ramos last season. says he wants to leave then gets offered a massive new deal and suddenly everything is ok again.
Ronaldo was 7 seasons ago, some people just can't let it go.

17.) 19 Jun 2017 11:59:22
14 million is nothing to Madrid in respect of keeping ronaldo at the club, he probably makes the club that and more by himself in merch etc so it would make commercial sense to hand him a chunky signing on bonus to pay the bill.

18.) 19 Jun 2017 12:13:47
Do you really think the biggest club in the world will be bent over a barrel? What happens when next season superstar has tax issues should they pay that also? Heck maybe they should just fix up Messi's tax bill too to keep the league attractive.

Get real. If Ronaldo has tax problems it is his problem nothing to do with Madrid. If he wants to throw his panties out his pram then RM will most certainly flick him the bird and send him on his way.

19.) 19 Jun 2017 12:33:21
Seen as janujaz got 5 million signing bonus when he signed a new deal with us. I don't see why it's so hard to believe ronaldo would get 14 from Madrid. Unless of course you don't think there's 9 million difference between janujaz and ronaldo - in which case you are the one on a different planet 😂
but hey. My bad for having a different opinion. I shall "get real" immediately. 👍.

20.) 19 Jun 2017 13:04:11
What has this got to do with januzaj?

21.) 19 Jun 2017 13:18:19
That if united give janujaz (average player) a 5mil signing on bonus for no reason, why wouldn't Madrid give ronaldo (world class) 14 million as a signing on bonus to pay his tax bill and to keep him happy - like simo1975 said, this is too similar to ramos and we all know how that turned out. let's be fair, we are probably just getting used as a bargaining tool for a new improved contract like we always do.
I get - and agree with - what you're saying about Madrid not being bent over the barrel, but for the sake of keeping a player like ronaldo for 'only' 14 million, they would be stupid not to. Especially when the replacement (mbappe by the rumours) would cost 10 times that.

22.) 19 Jun 2017 13:19:27
I personally would love ronaldo to come back, but if you held a gun to my head and made me put a bet on at the bookies, my money would be on a Madrid stay and a nice shiny new contract to go with it.

23.) 19 Jun 2017 13:47:24
MAZE -

"If he wants to throw his panties out his pram then RM will most certainly flick him the bird and send him on his way. "

Brilliant, made me laugh that statement has :-D.

24.) 19 Jun 2017 13:54:48
Just read that the Real Madrid president has called a press conference for tonight so we might find out more then.

25.) 19 Jun 2017 16:11:52
i don't think its the size of the tax bill that worries Ronaldo, (his company have £200 million worth of assets) but the possibility of prosecution just like Messi and Neymar. Maybe he thinks if leaves the country the prosecution will go away.

26.) 19 Jun 2017 16:19:30
If they were smart, RM would let him go. If they sell now they will probably get around £150m and will clear a massive wage off their books. Given his age and the probability that he only has 2 or 3 good seasons left in him - that seems like a great bit of business to me.

Conversely I think it would be a good bit of business for us too in the short term.

The only party that wouldn't benefit from the deal is Ronaldo himself - which is why I don't see it happening.

27.) 20 Jun 2017 13:56:13
£ 150m? You do know that the man is 32 years old ;D?

08 Jun 2017 08:32:36
Hi eds any chance of us going for dybala.

Fit finaly

{Ed001's Note - last I heard he was only interested in going to either Madrid or Barca.}

Quality player thanks for the quick reply.

{Ed001's Note - welcome.}

07 Jun 2017 09:47:43
Sly sports now reporting no bid for Morata made by man utd.

Fit finaly

1.) 07 Jun 2017 10:04:24
You mean they reported speculation as fact, and then admitted that there was no basis?

No way! Not Sly. That would imply that they have some sort of vested interest in fuelling speculation in the transfer market, and everyone knows that they're a bastion of professional journalism.

2.) 07 Jun 2017 10:10:10
I know Danny I am flabbergasted myself.

3.) 07 Jun 2017 10:26:53
A bit like that 60 mil bid for ddg?

4.) 07 Jun 2017 13:54:29
It is incredible how they continue to get away with manipulating the betting market!
I take no notice of anything they put on there anymore I'd put more stock in the metro.

5.) 07 Jun 2017 13:55:10
Damn you Sky! well that's taught me a lesson - anyone reccommend a good tattoo laser removal place?

6.) 07 Jun 2017 14:15:34
You might want to head over to the Madrid page and check Ed002's answer to my question.

7.) 07 Jun 2017 14:23:38
It obvious every team is trying to rip us off for prices, I hope we tell Madrid double their 66 million offer for De Gea if Morata is worth that much lol.

8.) 07 Jun 2017 20:55:46
Cheers Ed, much appreciated.

03 Jun 2017 22:51:58
Morata heavily linked to us.

Fit finaly

1.) 04 Jun 2017 06:21:36
I think he's the type of number 9 striker we need younger strong quite quick hits the target alot! Just real are going to ask for to much for him!

2.) 04 Jun 2017 09:59:33
Statezz I think he be prefect for us once under 50 million . we have been missing a clinical striker like this.

3.) 04 Jun 2017 10:33:24
He is very hit and miss and just what we don't want and the price being banded about is laughable.

4.) 04 Jun 2017 11:19:09
What would you price him at Eric take in to consideration the market. I think a good run and he could be 20 goal a season player.

5.) 04 Jun 2017 11:31:42
Eric name me a striker whos got 20 goals in all competitions with only starting 15 games for me he can be like a young torres given the chance!

6.) 04 Jun 2017 11:35:54
If its true the lad at Dortmund Aboydamadingdong is available at 70 mill I would take him all day long- done it for a few seasons now, fast strong and knows where the goal is.

7.) 04 Jun 2017 11:43:39
When will these Morata rumours go away. He's not good enough.

8.) 04 Jun 2017 11:55:19
Why is morata not good enough I am asking as he seems to score alot.

9.) 04 Jun 2017 13:03:20
Less exposure i think. If United signed Morata last season instead, the fans would be buzzing.

10.) 04 Jun 2017 13:19:17
Never rated him myself. Hope we steer clear of the next Morientes.

11.) 04 Jun 2017 15:02:21
His style is nothing like Morientes though Beast.

12.) 04 Jun 2017 15:17:54
Who was actually very good. Morata is a better player than Lukaku. So if it is one over the other, I choose the Spaniard.

13.) 04 Jun 2017 15:27:25
I agree eric.

14.) 04 Jun 2017 15:29:51
We should really be looking at Lewandowski or Cavani. Both of them powerful and have the ability to get you a goal from no where and both of them also clinical in front of goal. Benzema should be an option, it depends if Real buy Mbappe I think, then Benzema may be on the way out.
Dybala would be another option for me too, he's got it all and I would want him ahead of Morata n Mbappe.

15.) 04 Jun 2017 15:47:52
Morata is not better than Lukaku. If he's that good why is he sat on Real's bench? Why are they so keen to get rid? Why hasn't he been signed by a top club already?

His record at Juve was poor. For RM he comes on against teams who have already rolled over in a league where the top 2 are so far ahead of the rest.

16.) 04 Jun 2017 16:12:15
You have to look at the teams united dropped points against the mid table teams united wasted chance after chance this season i think he would be a great signing at right price.

{Ed004's Note - I would probably prefer Lukaku to Morata tbh. Atleast we know Lukaku will score 25/30 goals for us in the league next season. The only players at Madrid I would look at would be Varane, Kroos or Bale as I think they would be the only ones we could persuade to leave}

17.) 04 Jun 2017 16:42:52
Ed004 can you really see a possibility of bale I honestly hope I am wrong but just can't see it happening.

{Ed004's Note - I can't see it happening either. Unfortunately I can't see any other player available that'll take us up another level. Maybe it would be best for us to sort out defence and midfield this window and in January/Summer look to Griezmann or someone else who will take us up a level. Mkhitaryan/Mata, Rasford/New striker and Martial/Lingard are still good options}

18.) 04 Jun 2017 17:24:25
Ed004, do you think we have any chance of Kroos or Varane?

{Ed004's Note - Unfortunately very little. I think Kroos would be the more likely there though. We would probably have to insist on one with any deal with Madrid for De Gea}

19.) 04 Jun 2017 17:57:56
Morata's goal scoring stats in all comps=
Real
2012/ 13 - 15 games, 2 goals
2013/ 14 - 34 games, 9 goals

Juve
2014/ 15 - 46 games, 15 goals
2015/ 16 - 47 games, 12 goals

Real
2016/ 17 - 43 games, 20 goals

Conclusion - Morata does not score a lot of bloody goals for a forward intop class teams.

20.) 04 Jun 2017 18:16:44
Isn't Morata off to Milan.

21.) 04 Jun 2017 18:49:43
Just to compare I'll put Lukaku's stats over the same period.
West Brom (loan)
2012/ 13 - 38 games, 17 goals

Everton (loan)
2013/ 14 - 33 games, 16 goals

Everton
2014/ 15 - 48 games, 20 goals
2015/ 16 - 46 games, 25 goals
2016/ 17 - 39 games, 26 goals

Conclusion - similar age to Morata, playing in lesser teams, scores far more goals, constant progression in numbers. Basically to even think the two are comparable is doing Lukaku a dis-service.

{Ed001's Note - difference is, Lukaku is the main focal point in the teams he plays for, Morata is not. Lukaku probably gets a lot more great chances than Morata, against teams that are not packing the defence, unlike those teams that face Morata. To even put those numbers up like that, with so little attempt to provide any context is a disservice to all of us.}

22.) 04 Jun 2017 19:11:58
Ouch 001, I'm off to hang my head in shame.

{Ed001's Note - just saying mate, there are always two sides to the coin. Yes Lukaku scores goals, but he is the sole focal point of the teams he plays for. Morata is not, so you can't just use those stats alone. I mean it would be easy to pull out stats about how Lukaku covers less distance than just about any player in the Premier League, or a hundred other points that could swing it the other way. That is why I prefer to avoid stats, unless you have time to provide a full context to them, which is damn near impossible.}

23.) 04 Jun 2017 20:38:50
Also looking at games played is misleading, as you can come on in extra time and it still counts as an appearance. I suspect if you looked at minutes per goal ratio Morata would come out on top. I saw a stat last week that said Morata has the best goals per minute ratio in Europe's top five leagues.

Morata for me is the better all round player, his movement is smarter, his finishing more clinical, and he is better with his back to goal. The only thing Lukaku has over him is he is proven in the EPL even if there are still questions over his lack of goals against top six sides. Both seem to suffer from disappearing from time to time. But Morata will cost around 30m less than Lukaku. So we would be paying an extra 30m plus probably having our pants pulled down over wages by Riola to sign a player who is proven in our league. I don't think it's worth it.

24.) 04 Jun 2017 21:26:42
Have to realise that Madrid ain't going to do business with us if we don't sell De Gea to them

I don't want Griezmann anytime now or in the future, so the impression I get he going to sign a new contract, so he plays us like chumps, you might have the talent but you don't have heart for this team, go and join the other Madrid team or Chelsea next summer.

25.) 04 Jun 2017 21:34:06
I'll be happy with either! Although I prefer Morata.

26.) 04 Jun 2017 22:55:56
We couldn't persuade varane to leave when he wasn't in the team now that he is i reckon we have no chance.
Wazza. Why isn't lukaku at a big club? He was and they let him go. He doesn't do well against the top sides.
I am not arguing for one over the other. For me they are very different players. I think me morata is a better all round player and is a better link player but lukaku might score half a dozen more goals.
My gut instinct says if it's one or the other I'd rather take a risk on morata he has a decent record and is used to a big club winning mentality.

27.) 06 Jun 2017 10:39:26
Morata will join Chelsea!

16 May 2017 10:52:23
And so it begins. Sky sports reporting man utd offered chance to sign James Rodriguez this summer.

Fit finaly

1.) 16 May 2017 11:16:15
Hope its all rubbish. The fella makes Nani look consistent, he is no more than a lightweight chancer who will be crushed in the PL. Skilful enough on his day but there never seem to be many days.

Sanchez at Arsenal although very very unlikely to happen is 3 x the player Rodriquez is. Stupid as we are with money i'd say steer clear of the whingey little brat.

2.) 16 May 2017 11:19:58
That's nothing new. Ed002 mentioned this months ago and said its unlikely to happen in the recent sharkopod.

3.) 16 May 2017 11:33:02
Was saying it was new news was just stating that silly season begins. I actually would mind him.

4.) 16 May 2017 11:49:26
Nani still gets a lot of grief. He was awesome, just played under Robaldo's shadow.

5.) 16 May 2017 12:01:22
Nani on his day was excellent, often went under the radar that he was excellent with both feet, unplayable some days and I was sorry to see that particular version of Nani go - however there were plenty of days when it seemed he had his boots on the wrong feet - quite right he is fondly remembered - but we are a long way short of some of the teams Nani played in so we need players giving 100% next season and can't afford to carry anyone which is the category where I put put Rodriguez.

6.) 16 May 2017 12:02:53
Nani was awesome 10% of the time, the other 90% of the time he would give it away or be a non-entity.

There are hundreds of players like Nani - Depay and Mahrez are very similar imo. Can stand out for small teams but take them up a level where the system isn't based on giving them the ball they will be passengers or worse! These players can stand out if the team revolves around them, but unlike Messi/ Ronaldo they are not good enough for a big team to dedicate the style to them.

7.) 16 May 2017 13:59:38
eric ronaldo was sold in 2009 and nani was given a chance to shine on his own, how well did that turn out.

8.) 16 May 2017 14:15:57
Well he won the Players' Player of the Year in 2011 so I assume he was not awarded that for turning up 10% of the time. Not sure he's to blame either for the general demise of our playing squad since Ronnie left either. Suppose he was a flash in the pan too or had no end product either.

9.) 16 May 2017 14:25:34
"Sanchez at Arsenal although very very unlikely to happen is 3 x the player Rodriquez is. Stupid as we are with money i'd say steer clear of the whingey little brat. "

Real irony in that sentence. I'd stay away from Sanchez as well personally, he has a shocking attitude. Laughing as his team concede goals, it doesn't get any more disrespectful than that.

10.) 16 May 2017 14:54:39
Saw Nani playing for Valencia recently, when I took the wee man over to watch them play Malaga (his Spanish team) for his birthday. Hasn't changed. Some sublime pieces of skill and trickery, but largely frustrating. Beefed up a bit as well.

I'd compare James more to Oscar. Similar build, style etc. I thought he turned out to be a bit hit and miss, and I think it might be the same problem with James. I do really like him, though. Earned me a few quid at the last world cup.

11.) 16 May 2017 15:51:49
Jet listening to Graham hunter and he says zidane has used James more and he has played better. Decent conversion rate too.
Looks like we will know by weekend or early next week.
But surely both him and griezman wouldn't be on?
