Hi guys and Eds

Havent commented a while but have been reading. People worried about our signings or lack of etc.
People we are Man Utd, damn it! We have had players die and we bounced back stronger.

We might not win the title next year or we might, its in the belief of our players and manager just like under Busby or SAF. We never had the best players while winning under them either.

So just Calm down love and believe!

yes dad.

I think the world has moved on a bit. And so has football.

3.) 30 Jul 2017 10:23:55
I don't think that's quite true. Under fergie we did have big pete vds stam neville rio vidic evra rvn keane scholes giggs becks etc all the best players. They were complimted by a host if top class pros. Ok we did have a few like fellaini in the likes of djemba kleberson poborsky etc but like jose fergie got shot of those quickly. If jose had come in the year after moyes fellaini would have been gone 2 years ago imo.

Hi guys

I want to see what people think. Everyone talks about who can or should leave and Januzaj keeps getting mentioned but i would be gutted.

He played for LVG under frustrating corcumstances same with Depay. I think quality doesn't dissapear and under Jose both Januzaj and even Depay could prove people wrong!

Also heard of a two team option for Jose one to win league and one to challenge for Europa and FA and League cup. It would allow young and fringe players chances to develop and het continental experience, while prime players to rest and try and win league, what do you guys think?

Pre season is a chance to shine. 😉.

2.) 12 Jul 2016 06:44:54
In full agreement, its up to the players to show they have the attitude to do well never mind the football skills but Januzaj, memphis and schneiderlin should get a chance under Jose to show what they can do.

3.) 12 Jul 2016 07:02:12
They need to shine quickly.

4.) 12 Jul 2016 08:52:10
One thing Mourinho won't put up with is a bad attitude, which instantly puts both Januzaj and Depay at risk. Not only are they going to have to prove themselves far more productive than they have been over the last season but have a whole new attitude.

5.) 12 Jul 2016 09:17:32
I don't think LVG frustrated Januzaj as much as Januzaj failed to take up his chances. And if people really think that LVG was bad for him, then his loan spell at Dortmund wasn't any better. And LVG wasn't the manager there.

6.) 12 Jul 2016 10:37:47
Raghav, Your right. Januzaj started last season in the team. He failed to take his chances and was dropped, he then immediately decided to go to Dortmund for the season. He failed their under a very good young manager in Tuchel who has since questioned Januzaj's attitude. He was brought back early given a few chances and failed to take any of them. He wasn't in the team last season because he couldn't out perform Martial, Lingard, Mata or Depay in the wide positions or Rooney as a No.10. Since his debut season I think I can count on one hand the number of good games he has had. Considering we are two years down the line since then, that the issues might be a lack of performance from him.

Hi guys

All this talk about getting back up there to the top and etc, being the best again and importantly world class is not out of reach surely.

If we signed a total of 5 players i think it would be complete, here is eho i think would do it:

2 cb Varane and Marquinhos cost = £70-80m
1 cm Pogba = £60-70m if value right
1 rw Griezman = £45m
1 cf Ibrahimovich if we can tempt = free

Total spend £195m but that goes down if you take into account money from sales of few surplus stock!

Ed's is such an undertaking so impossible to really get us firing on all cylinders again?

Thanks.

1.) 31 May 2016 23:19:47
And who is saying they want to come.

2.) 31 May 2016 23:33:57
Griezmann would cost more than that, Pogba wants a move to Barcelona apparently, would love Marquinhos and Varane but can't force their clubs to sell, especially Real. their fax might break, and there's no guarantees the players would come to us when they are at clubs with CL football next season

Nice to dream though.

3.) 31 May 2016 23:34:53
That would be an ideal window Cypriotenglish.

I think the numbers are off though, did Chelsea not reportedly have a 40 million bid rejected for Marquinhos? Would they both settle straight away and is that partnership a little young?

I also think Athletico value Greizmann between to 60-80 million mark now. Correct or not, they see him as one of the best 3 in the world. He doesn't want to leave (apparently)

I have a feeling we may go for Pogba. I think that and 1 CB would make us title contenders. Anything above that is a bonus.

I think with Blind and Mata been deemed surplus something is going on in the background regarding incomings, hopefully something we hear about shortly.

4.) 01 Jun 2016 10:16:48
There are at least 4 parties that have to agree for a transfer to take place - the buying and selling clubs, the player and regrettably, the agent. So I agree with the comment above that whilst the listed players would be extremely welcome at Utd, it unfortunately unlikely that most (or indeed any) of them will be wearing our shirt next season. Competition will be fierce for them. Tbh, why should some of them move from their present clubs? Money talks, but it's only one factor.

There is great merit in developing your youth players, since they often show a greater allegiance. We may not have the class of 92 yet but several youngsters are showing great promise. They do need to be encouraged. For example, how will Ashley Fletcher develop? 2 goals in the play-offs, well taken, exhibit real talent.

Didn't Nick Powell score the winner in the play offs not a great yardstick. I hope fletch does better than him.

Hi all.
I have to admit i'm happy Lvg is gone, but thank him for FA cup and youth chances.
Im happy to have got Mourinho but think that people are being a little harsh already and are maybe setting up failure.

Lvg did have a good squad but did not make the right signings and messed up in man management i feel. Playing young as striker while martial played on wings. Or not playing and encouraging more from Di maria or shutting out Peirerra after excellent shows of quality. Or selling hernandez and others while not replacing them. I think if he could have kept Di maria and replaced strikers sold with one maybe, signed a quality defender instead of playing a dfm with smalling, he could have done something.

With Mourinho people have slated him for youth policy, but with SAF did poborsky not get kicked out due to quality of Beckham? If a youth has the quality, not even Ronaldo can keep them out of a team!
As for his behaviour, would you guys rather have him question the expectations of the club and fans, whilst claiming to be the best or would you rather have him misbehave due to passion for winning? I prefer to win.

For those fellow reds already claiming boring play to come, let's not forget this season passed, and remember atm what's important in my eyes is establishing a winning mentality and fear factor of this great club after much was decimated. Regarding Jose's shelf life at club, the one thing he has never attained yet in carreer was a legacy at one club like SAF and what better club to try than the big mans own? I think his motivation for that goal could be a good one for us. It could go wrong too i admit but i would rather give him a go than what we have had!

As for whom i would like us to sign, i'm thinking 4-5 players as squad too thin.
I would sign one cb like Marquinhos or Varane and Stones as last choice.
Maybe a midfielder but not sure about this so much because we can use Blind, Tfm as possible Dfm so we could be fine and Schneiderling and Herrerra as Cm but if rejuvenation needed we could either sign someone like Pogba, Koke or someone of that mould.

I think we can also use a new winger my choices would be Griezeman or Reus as their calibre is what is needed. And i'm fed up of Martial being played on wing, either play him central or as a strike trio like messi, neymar snd suarez.

Im happy with rooney and mata to play no 10 role sometimes and would keep them for rotation for that role with Peirerra getting a shout somewhere.
As for striking role i think Ibra would be perfect as he is old enough not to stop Rashford developing but good enough for immediate impact esp after season he had. Ibra, Martial Rashford with rotation depending on formation. I think Depay will come good with Jose on left so would keep him.
And if we still worry about depth, maybe we can sign a young prospect to play few games while team learns to gel with youth mixed in.

I would sell some players such as young, jones, rojo, maybe shweinsteiger if not good for Jose, maybe carrick or keep him or sweini for cover, romero with Johnstone getting a chance as cover, fellaini unless his happy to be cover only always but i would rather try youth.
I would keep valencia as backup, carrick or sweinsteiger, maybe fellaini instead of oldies but not aswel.

I think we could have a good squad if the above happened but could always add defensive cover like oxford or someone incase of injury or smalling dipping in form. What does everyone think?

Everyones past involvement in the game is very interesting. But there seems to be one reoccurring theme that i believe is true for our country as is our game we love too and that is a lack of self belief. I mean no disrespect to anyone but am highlighting a general outlook most in this once proud nation has.

If you look at USA they are big on dream big and believe sort of cliches, even their president's slogan was 'yes we can'. Over in what was Great Britain we seem to have lost our belief in our own abilities it seems, this is even evident with our political stance.

Ronaldo is the best because of a few factors, he believes in himself, is the first one in and last one out of training and yes he did have talent but so did Anderson but did not work as hard, thus failed. My view is we are a small island whom once ruled the world, if we believe our British players are more than able to dominate or to produce messi or ronaldo like players, all they need is blond self belief, a little talent to start with and lots of hard work!

Don't think weather is the main problem. I think it might be because of things out of our control.
Chelsea and Arsenal attract more because of London the city that is considered the financial capital of world.

France, Italy offers romance and great food and intercontinental culture that appeals to players and more importantly to wags. Spain offers hot outdoor lifestyle with a simple happy life and great fashion as with France and Italy and even London.

Manchester and the rest of Northern England have the same problem of having the same bad weather but worse the more north you go. Neglect and lack of investment by government since industrial decline. The North has more natural beauty geographically but in the world of Prada, Gucci, Ferrari's and yachts that's hardly a motivation.

The reason for a player, a true player to cone to Man Utd or Siteh or any other team is either for the proud history, the nice hard working fans or more money than sense.
A player who chooses football chooses Man Utd, a player that wants riches go to highest bidder, the players slightly under the thumb mostly go to Europe! That simple. :)
Hope that answers your question and sorry for long post.

Hi mate,

I agree that Depay would most likely flourish under Jose, but sbout this concept of Martial being a lw i slightly disagree. Whilst i think Martial can play there brilliantly, he is a striker, an expensive one.

I would prefer to try depay on lw again and see if he improves and play Martial and Rashford in rotation for striker with rw like griezman or someone like him coming in, and if all else fails then we can play Martial lw again worse comes to worse.
