apparently De Gea + Navas is happening (from the Guardian)

Brendan22340

De Gea was ready to sign a new contract at the beginning of last season when LVG took charge. But LVG said he had to prove himself to him and earn a new contract.

I think people are underestimating how much LVG is ruining this once great club. Taking Navas as a consolation prize to having a world class keeper should be insulting to the United faithful. It is to me.

Januzaj on loan, Di Maria leaves from not wanting to play under LVG anymore, Falcao reduced to tears because of him, Valdez banished, Rooney not used properly, De Gea told he had to earn his contract. LVG has ruined us and those of you who click disagree are kidding yourselves. LVG has to go and we need to get a manager that uses the fortune he has at his disposal properly.

I think you're off your meds

IHF

I think de Gea would have gone new contract or not. LVG was only saying he wanted to take a look at things. I don't think it changed anything with the DDG situation.

Valdes deserved to be frozen out. ADM didn't do anything to prove himself and had an easy way out. Falcao wasn't close to being good enough. Januzaj hasn't progressed and needs regular football. Rooney isn't the player he was.

In that respect, it's hard to question LVG. However, where I would question him is the desire to bring in big names last season - this destabilised us. I'd also question his need to make all his changes at once. And some of the players he's brought in are just water carriers (Blind, Rojo. ). And has he really given the existing squad players a chance?

It's all a bit chaotic and unseemly and not at all what we've been used to.

5.) 31 Aug 2015 18:13:22
Couldn’t agree more! I´ve always that LVG must be a City fan by the way he is ruining MANCHESTER UNITED

6.) 31 Aug 2015 18:38:26
I actually worry for those that disagree and I will be here to point out your naivety in the coming months. You are a bunch of lemmings the lot of you. Watch us fail to win anything for years to come.

7.) 31 Aug 2015 19:32:34
Haha we are all a bunch of lemmings. Jog on you clown.

8.) 31 Aug 2015 20:43:18
red tinted specs lemmings get it right :)

I think i remember Ed002 predicting LVG would get rid of rafael, even before Moyes was sacked!

Brendan22340

1.) 03 Aug 2015 13:28:20
They must be the prophet we've all been waiting for

2.) 03 Aug 2015 15:08:33
if LVG doesn't get to the group stages of CL I reckon he will be got rid of

3.) 03 Aug 2015 17:31:52
Does anyone still have a doubt that ed002 is infact lvg?

4.) 03 Aug 2015 18:41:33
Cookyman, why such negativity?

Hi Ed if you're around,

I understand Manchester United are very much in favour of, and a principle driving force behind the pan European league concept. Does David Gill still represent the club in any capacity for such discussions? I have been told in the past he has chaired meetings on the matter

Brendan22340

{Ed002's Note - Maybe one day Mr Gill will have a much higher profile job. We should wait and see.}

26 Aug 2014 11:40:58
We're all so eager for new players that none of us are discussing a potential bedding in period. If we end up playing 5 new players in the first team it may take a while for them to gel. That said I think our manager is the best person to facilitate this

Brendan22340

1.) 26 Aug 2014 13:32:03
I think people expect a bedding in period, but I would rather have world class players bedding in than average joe's who have played together for ages.

2.) What would you rather see?
A bedding Vidal or a Cleverley?

3.) It seems we are having serious trouble getting the existing lot to gel anyway.

Hi All,

I discussed Fabregas with Musa Okwonga (journo from espn) yesterday, I asked him if he had heard anything in journo circles that could be encouraging us to bid for Cesc. He told me that Cesc is keen to move to Utd.
the public nature of the bids make more sense knowing this too. Basically we need to make an offer attractive enough for Cesc to ask for a move and offer a large enough fee to Barca

I found this very encouraging news although there may be some more posturing and negotiating to be done over the next couple of weeks.

Brendan22340

1.) Is that Must A ok Wonga?

Does anyone else follow Phil Brown's work on beyond the pitch? He is a huge Utd fan and top analyst, he also has plenty of sources within the club. Anyway he posted a photo of Jose doing a thumbs up gesture a couple of hours ago. I've asked him if he knows anything but no reply. Might just be teasing.

Brendan.

When did it become cool to follow French football? ;)

Morning all,

Thought it might be of interest to let you know a section of the stretty sang LVG's name throughout the game vs Swansea. Top right hand corner of the stand as you sit in it. It was nice to see the support regardless of the issues faced

Bren.

Brendan22340

1.) 05 Jan 2016 12:00:39
The problem with chanting his name is that the manager doesn't see it as the fans being supportive of him as our manager. He see's it as the fans appreciating his approach and liking what they see on the pitch. There have been numerous instances of the manager miss-interpreting comments and fan reaction.

ie - a full stadium means the fans like what they see.

When the chips are down it's great to try and lift the players and manager, but only if lessons are learned and the support is seen as support and not praise!

2.) 05 Jan 2016 12:21:26
Didn't even need to scroll down the page to see who posted that reply. It had Beasty Boy written all over it!

Maybe you are reading too much into things because it suits your agenda?

Maybe, just maybe those fans in the Stretford End are singing to show support and solidarity to the manager of the team they support because they want the best for the TEAM?

Sorry, maybe I am being ridiculous. The best way to support the team, the club, and the players is to endlessly boo the manager. Throw abuse at him at every opportunity and fly banners over the stadium.

Yeah, that's more like it!

3.) 05 Jan 2016 12:49:32
Betty - I have no doubt that is what the fans are doing. I said that in my post and I think it is needed and probably appreciated by the players and staff. Alas I also have no doubt that this clear effort of support will be abused to enhance a different agenda as we have witnessed all too often.

I don't disagree with the original post. I just think it's a shame that the message will likely get lost in translation, which happens in every walk of life when people are desperate.

4.) 05 Jan 2016 13:36:05
Lost in translation? Maybe they should chant his name in Dutch then :)

5.) 05 Jan 2016 13:04:42
I think the Beast has a point Betty. The last thing you want is for LVG to hear his name being chanted and taking it as a sign of the fans acceptance of his dull philosophy.

6.) 05 Jan 2016 15:23:47
Aaah, no show without punch. Thought you were lost in the outback. Must have been playing with your didgeridoo for a long time JMB!

7.) 05 Jan 2016 22:12:48
Betty on top form today😀.

hi all,

Just my 2 cents following the talk of Giggs taking over after LVG;

This is speculation but I wonder how many responsibilities the manager has that are not directly linked to football; Ie business development, administrative tasks ect.

If Giggs is chosen to take over it might be wise to restructure and appoint a director of football.

If anyone has some insight into the broader remit of a manager I would love to hear it

Hi everyone,

From time to time I post here to eulogise about Giggs or patronize you all with my useless french football knowledge. today its the latter :)

Anthony Martial has been touted as a bright prospect for a while now. French football followers first heard the hype with his age group performances with Lyon and France.

-he's quick
-has yet to develop physically so is nowhere near a mature player yet

Anyone who stands out in Lyon's academy has potential to be something special. they love to develop pacey wide forwards. There has been reported interest from pretty much everyone (or at least monitoring) ever since his L1 debut with Lyon. I would speculate that we moved now because of interest from elsewhere but am more than happy to be corrected on this by Ed.

I think people become desensitized to the sums of money involved and forget that these deals are absolutely huge. It would be rediculous to willingly delay it for the sake of a press conference.

how is that the current policy? I can only think of Martial that fits the description. none of our other signings have been for the future.

I,ve watched him in France for ages, he's good but there's a reason top clubs didn't push through a move for him.

I don't care either way about other clubs. I'm born British but I don't associate my love for Utd with anything else, this includes not giving a rats arse which league is the best.

i heard someone put it nicely on the FW pod yesterday: the prem doesn't generate great players it generates stars. its a soap opera and I'm absolutely fine with that.

I still think Welbeck can become a very good striker. That said his development has been affected by the signing of RVP
