Evening gents Liverpool fan here in peace! Genuinely curious what the big problems are with the Glazers? I’ve heard claims that they’re ripping the soul out of the club and heard pundits telling them to sell up.

But from what I’ve seen as an outsider they’ve always backed their managers and I believe updated Old Trafford (could be wrong on that one) . When I think of nightmare owners I think of Mike Ashley and what he’s done to Newcastle.

Obviously none of us want the ESL but if new owners came in what would you want them to do differently? Interested to hear cheers!

Look at the stadium it's old there been no work done on renewing the outside or the inside, there's no fan areas around the stadium for match days. The training ground is the same they sold the naming right for it but never improved the place. And that's without going into the money.

Bledd

They hocked the club up in hundreds of millions of debt, so they could own the asset, we have lost £1.5Billion out of the club in costs relating to the debt, so they could continue to take dividends and fees. The stadium last had a decent update with money left in the bank by the Plc. Meanwhile the roof leaks. This lot are far worse than Mike Ashley.

What we want them to do is sell.

3.) 02 May 2021 20:55:37
They bought our club with banks' moeney and then funded the debt with club funds. All the money they have spent on debt interest and dividends could have been spent on players, infrastructure, or dare I say, reducing ticket prices.

We were a community club, proud of our history and tradition, we had some of the lowest season ticket prices, and now we are owned by Americans with no understanding of these things.

4.) 02 May 2021 21:18:12
Latest was their tribute to the babes. Honouring their memory by pursuing the ESL and following traditions. or words to that affect.

Compare the above comments to the owners of City who purchased without debt, invested in the ground, the neighborhood, in youth and in great players and managers with a view to winning titles.

The Glazers' main priority is making money. We are a marketing vehicle first and a football club second. They appointed a financial man to run the club, including by all accounts handling the transfer business. So after starving the club of cash for 10 years, failing to replace the likes of Scholes, Keane, Giggs etc, and selling our best player, Ronaldo, they then invested very poorly in players.

The long and short of it, they really don't care what happens on the field, as long as it's profitable for them.

All the American owners would like to replace what we have with a monopoly franchise type system, with salary caps, participation at the top level independent of results, and the possibility of relocating clubs based on the best tax and incentive deals offered by cities. They have no loyalty to their local fans at all.

{Ed0666's Note - Failed to replace Scholes, Giggs, Keane? What on earth are you talking about? You’ve had heinous amounts of money to spend on transfers for ions. How can you blame the glazers for investing in poor players it’s not their job to find players.

Ronaldo left because he outgrew United. Not because of anything the Glazers did or didn’t do.

Owners like the ones at City come around once or twice a lifetime. They aren’t in it for financial gain they are promoting their country. Who wouldn’t want custodians like that?

Dividends and interest payments on the debt to the tune of 2 billion pounds.

Its that simple.

Blimey, the bobby charlton roof leaks, the seats are crammed together, spurs, west ham, gunners are way ahead stadium wise - we last hosted major final 18 years ago? Glazers show non interest in the club and never show at games. The reason there's been no players worth their salt is that when pep and Jurgen where approached by sir alex to manage they seen the writing on the wall and were rightly less than impressed. Glazers see us as a cash cow - why is this not as plaine as day its obvious is an ownership thing. Sir alex hid the downfall (although he wasn't without fault over that horse with JP AND Magnier) they sold over that incident. United need 300 million quid spent onn that team. You or I could name five players that would fit the bill. Iys a joke and not a funny one. What happened today was not enough by half.

{Ed0666's Note - not enough by half? What would have satiated you a policeman losing an eye? It’s only football mate. It means fuc* all compared to what’s happening in society and life in general at the moment. It’s certainly not worth maiming police officers. You’re message was lost in the violence. You’re message was louder when it was a peaceful protest:

For all those who say they the cost of their ownership has costed a billion dollars (which is right), have you seen what they have done to the revenue stream? Just curious.

9.) 03 May 2021 10:52:37
Footballgoesincircles

Who is to say that revenue stream would not have happened anyway? Their ownership has cost well over a Billion dollars, more like £1.5Bn Pounds not dollars. What could that money have been spent on?

How many times down the years have I been on here talking about how the stadium was becoming dilapidated? Where I sat was not under the serious leak, but it dripped for years. The owners have failed to invest in the infrastructure, the stadium and do you not think that £1.5Bn might have given us a lot better situation. We have missed a massive opportunity to develop the club in the Glazer years, it is disgusting to be honest.

Lastly, when we do develop the ground parts may need to be closed whilst work is done. We have had a year where no spectators could attend but they have made no notable changes, not taken advantage of minimal disruption. They likely had no plan, no budget earmarked for development, no plan ready to go for anything. The owners are a disgrace and any increase in revenue has not benefitted the club anything like it should have done.

Liverpool fan in peace. What I’ve noticed is none of these ex players were gossiping or passing on info when Ole was in charge. Interesting how they’re happy to do it now.

Genuinely interested to hear why you think that RR? If memory serves you still had Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra in defence. Carrick and an (ageing) Scholes and Giggs in midfield then Rooney and Van Persie up top.

But that's what I'm asking mate? Why do you think it will work and on what evidence?

Well you said.
"jose needs to step up and get this very good squad of players playing well. that's what good managers do"

And.
"im a jose fan, wanted him at the club for years i think he will get it right and a top manager would do very well with this squad"

Which suggests at the moment he's getting it wrong. So to get it right he's going to have to turn that around.

Nobody really plays wingers tho. Are Coutinho, Eriksen and Firminho wingers? Even the likes of Mane and Hazard and Walcott are not conventional wingers and cut inside. Besides how about Mkitaryan. And for your playmaker how about Mata or Herrera? Comes a point where you're just spunking money for the sake of it.
