A few 'would you rather' posts popping up, mostly to do with playing well but losing or playing badly but winning.

How can you play badly and win trophies? it just doesn’t happen. I used to love the contrasting styles of Italy and Brazil in World Cups.

Why doesn’t anyone give any credit to playing defensively and solidly anymore? It’s not easy to organise teams and there is definitely an art form to playing that way, granted it might not be as exciting to watch. Mayweather will go down as one of the greatest boxers of all time but he was really boring to watch, he just didn’t get hit.

If everyone adopted the same style playing football then ultimately that would become boring too, I love all the styles and appreciate them for what we are. Long ball tactics, rough and tumble, tikka takka, ultimate football, park the bus, counter attack etc.

I guess as a united fan, do miss the style we used to play, but it was never like the current city side for example, one we seem to want to emulate now. we had a style of our own and that’s the beauty of football .

Well said LSMA.
At the end Of the day, people remember winners and not too much of those who play well and beautiful. Hence yeah to a certain extent I’d rather we win and be boring than be like scousers playing beautiful and not win anything for years. Of course if we can play beautiful and yet win that’ll be ultimate. 😉.

We're not that great defensively. 3 holding midfielders and an unbelievable goalkeeper have papered over the cracks. Also the frustration is that we have top notch attacking players but the lack of a constructive approach means we have reverted to a damage limitation exercise while hoping for individual brilliance to bail us out. Meanwhile spurs and liverpool are getting similar results but play a much better brand of football. My hope is that the glaring issues with our defence and CM are addressed this summer and Mourinho adopts a better approach, but I'm not sure how realistic that is.

Always imagining Jred.
Bur ball is round so also depends on who we playing. I am quite sure most logical supporters would want win before beautiful football. That said, I’d not want to become a scousers supporter having not won anything for so long than be a ManUtd supporter having won silverware last season. So what if it is Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck trophy? I’d rather that than an empty season shelf.
But yes if we win and also beautiful, like I said it would be the ultimate.
