So were the Eric Dier rumours false then Eds? I would personally love him at United, but know that Levy would never allow it.

I was hoping for both as Fabinho can also play at right back and Dier can also cover as a centre back.

Fabinho has played at right back more than midfield though. He only played midfield this season.

Fabinho is too talented to play RB, been a revelation as a Midfielder, looking forward to seeing him, Ander and Pogba playing together.

I agree about Fabinho. I actually think adding him is more important than any attacking player at this point. He is a versatile player, and I don't just mean positionally. He will round out the midfield nicely and allow Pogba and/ or Herrera to play further forward, as Jose sees fit.
I also think Semedo would be an outstanding addition. I hope he ends up with us and not Barca. I don't buy the argument that we have Valencia so we don't need Semedo. Semedo can challenge for time next year, as we challenge on all fronts, and grow into the right back role as Valencia gets older.

Dier is extremely overrated guys. I think since he score that free kick in the euros he has been highly rated. Not great on the ball. If we wanted to sign a defensive midfielder off spurs wanyama is the man to sign.

Dier and Bertrand are sub standard, they are not first team signings if we want to be winning the league/ CL.

I'd love Fabinho at United. He's just what we need so we can take the shackles of Pogba.
Lindelhof, Fabinho, Morata and maybe Perisic would signal a very good transfer window for us.

For once we seem to have a majority agreeing. Dier is not good enough o play for us and i am being serious. He is a very poor passer and IMO the weak link in a very good spurs team.

I'll be honest, I've not seen a lot of Fabinho play, I know Monaco was a tremendously attack minded team did Fabinho do his defensive duties well?

I think many here are really underrating Dier. He's never going to dribble past players like Pogba for example, but his passing and work rate are brilliant. He's at least as good as Carrick was at that age.

Breast it has to be said i agree on dier but chelsea did win the league and cl final with bertrand. Having said that i don't think bertrand is top class i would like either mendy or rose if we sell shaw. If shaw is being kept i'd like to buy tierny who would provide great competition for shaw. For me fabhino would prove to be a vital cog in our team next year. Love the way he plays. If we are to play 3 in midfield fabhino pogba herrera sounds like a perfect combination with atttributes that compliment one another. Backed up by carrick Pereira and my preference would be to sell fellaini and buy matuidi we would be in great shape in midfield.

Ken - True, but in our style/ system we rely on our full backs a hell of a lot for creating space and chances, Bertrand is not good enough. Also he played 28 games for Chelsea in total (not one season, 9 seasons with various loan outs I admit I thought it would be more than that), I imagine the majority of those were in meaningless cup games and coming on as a sub as well.
Mendy and Rose are the two I'd want as well mate, Bertrand is a typical Liverpool player for me.
