He does not want to be no2. if de gea stays he goes. If de gea goes and then we buy a new number one he goes. He will only stay if promoted and will that happen.

Ed gives us loads of great info but a lot can change very quickly
Then what tends to happen is the Ed gets a load of stick when he has never definitely said x, y or z will stay or leave . I'm not surprised he gets peeved off at times.

Would like to keep Romero if possible but i can't blame him for wanting to go if he did. He would be first choice right now for me at city, liverpool, everton maybe even arsenal as chech hasn't looked as great as once was.

He'd be a great signing for Everton. He'll probably go for about £8m which will be a good price for the buying club. Robles is absolutely terrible.

Over 80 caps for argentina so is proven quality at the highest level. only 30 years old. Easily in the top 6 gk in the prem for me right now. Whoever gets him if he goes has done a great bit of buisness.

I can't remember a costly error he has made for us. Really good keeper. No player will say he indents too leave in the summer 12 days before a big cup final.
I'll tell you what he didn't say and that was that he will DEFINITELY be here next season.
Maybe jose is hedging his bets the last thing he needs is both keepers leaving in the summer. Perhaps if ddg goes Jose will give him the no1 spot and keep him . If ddg stays then Romero will be playing elsewhere imo.
If ddg leaves and we sign a new no1 Romero will leave I'm sure.

For me I reckon there is a once In a blue moon stupid barthez type error in him but i also see plenty of brilliance in him.
I also prefer a catching keeper but when he doe punch at least he is aggressive and decisive and he is not a flapper. If ddg leaves I would personally be happier if we kept Romero as no 1 than spend 60m plus on oblak or 30 in jasper . And kept the money to invest in brining in better outfield players.

Agreed. You don't become Argentina's No 1 if you're no good. He's no DDG but who is. I'd take him as number one and promote Joel to No2. Saves £60m on Obkak for oartsjof th ten that need major surgery, namely full backs and a midfielder.

Romero is not a top class goalkeeper, he is a decent understudy.

Romero is a very good gk. There are very few in the elite gk category in my eyes. There are DeGea, Courtois, Neuer and also Donnarumma has the potential to be. Some would put Oblak / Lloris into that category but I'm not convinced they are at the level of the gk's above, very good gk's yes but not one of the best.
Therefore, if DeGea leaves who is there to go for that would do a good job in front of what should already be a much stronger first team and squad come next season?
Do we use all of the cash from a DeGea sale to buy Oblak or a huge amount of it to try and tempt Lloris? I'd have to say no personally. Schmeichel? Not as good as Romero for me. Pickford? Again not as good as Romero for me, yet. Forster? Again no better than Romero. Handanovic? The best of the bunch, for me, below the elite, who hopefully wouldn't cost ridiculous money.
I, personally, would give it to Romero and have Pereira as his number 2. From what I have seen of Pereira, he looks a very good gk and could be our number one in the future. I'd hate to pay stupid money for another gk and have him leave to become just as good as whoever we pay big money for in the near future. If not Romero then I'd go for Handanovic with Pereira as number 2. He will be 33 come next season and will allow Pereira to develop but depending on how he does develop won't get in the way of him becoming number one in the coming years.
Just my opinion on the subject.
Now let's hope we take advantage of what will be an emotional day for Spurs, like city did to us years ago in the game around the Munich 50th anniversary. Let's also win for Pogba who must be in a dark place at the minute, thoughts with him too.
