Rumors of United will ask for Kroos as part of any deal for De Gea in the summer. I think the Editor has also indicated this to be a possibility.

I'd hate to lose De Gea but Kroos is one of the best in the world at what he does and feel that De Gea will leave eventually anyway. Keeping an unhappy and unsettled players is never good. Getting Kroos in as part of the deal would be as good as we can do I think.

There are plenty of good keepers we could buy like Handanovic or even Begovic. The better we get as a team the lesser and lesser important our keeper becomes and I think fixing our midfield should be a priority.

Most teams don't reach the level we are aspiring to reach by selling their best player.

De gea has got at least 10-12 more years at this level and can go on to be the greatest goalkeeper we've ever had. don't see the point in exchanging him for anyone especially someone like kroos who will probably get castigated for not scoring/ assisting enough goals like pogba has been this season.

Also this club especially knows how hard it is to replace a top keeper and the idea someone like begovic, butland, oblak, handanovic etc can fill de geas shoes doesn't wash with me.

If De Gea is going to leave then I'd say Kroos is the player we should be asking about from Real. With the exception probably Bale he'd have the biggest impact on our current playing style and would compliment some of the midfielders we have very well, especially Pogba. He'd be a fantastic signing even with the loss of De Gea.

IMO there is no player id let DDG go for.

if ddg wants to go, let him go on man utds terms, don't let him, agents or RM control the deal.
Theres other keepers out there, hamhandovic, oblak etc. I reckon if we bring in 1 or 2 top defenders we will statistically not miss him as much as some think. We still survived after schmeical, and van de sar didn't we? Plus its a great opportunity to try for at least one of our supposed targets.

Pretty clear, after few searches on internet, that Handanovic looks like an excellent replacement for De Gea if he goes. Tall, strong, quick reflexes, commanding - tailor made for PL.

And if we can use De Gea as leverage to get Kroos, won't be such a huge loss.

Though not completely sure about Kroos: more Carrick than Kante/ Matic (I believe we need a dedicated DM to allow Herrera and Pogba to break forward) but maybe Jose has a master plan for the future.

Dele Alli and Tielemans!

The day any GK is seen as an irreplaceable best ager is a sad one. As great as DDG is, I'd go for a swap with a world class replacement who can win games through positive play rather than prevent us losing and trust that there are many replacement GKs who could come in and do a more than decent job.

Ronnie,

You think they would be good replacements for de gea? Give it a rest.

No point keeping players not wanting to play for us. Same for zlatan and Rinaldo and everyone in the team. Club bigger than the players.
If he wants to leave, then bye bye De Gea, I won't miss you, and I certainly we will knock you out whenever we are a force again in the uefa champions league.
And I'd ask for 50m+ for him. He's worth every penny and more.

Rohan,

I am quite we will miss him. How long did it take to get a good replacement for Big Pete? Exactly. De Gea has been our best player the last 3 seasons. For a goalie, that's impressive. So he will be missed.

If he wants to lleave and Madrid want him, Kroos + Varane would be adequate.
