Cannot see Rooney moving to China, don't think with a young family he would like it really. I think he is home bird and won't even go to the U. S.

imo he will leave this summer or next i wouldn't be that surprised if he saw out next season, took up his ambassador role and retired from footy.
he has already said he will wrap england in 2018.
then again china for brand rooney is a good retirement pot if that how he wants to end his career

{Ed025's Note - well he does need the money jred..

Does he Ed?
Is Coleen so expensive?

{Ed025's Note - it was irony jonny, he would have to live till he was 1000 years old to spend what he has mate..

its all relative pal but money is money, would you treble your wage for a few year .
its the young players i struggle with a bit, but then again maybe the extra cash helps them look after more of there family .
or spend more on the good stuff like birds drugs and drink ;)

do the real top players with established brands really need to go to china?

The lad just loves playing football, he's broken goal scoring records and won every trophy at club level you can with us, he's had a fantastic career and I think he would be happy to take a massive wage cut to go back to his boyhood club Everton at the end of the season, not like he's desperate for money he's set for life anyway and his kids too, Going to China or America at 31 coming up 32 would be an insult to his ability at that age.

{Ed007's Note - Screw China and the USA, get him up at Celtic where he'd know what it means to be appreciated. I'd love to see Rooney in the Hoops but not at 35 to tick a list but give us 2/3 years of quality, he'd stroll it uo here and give us something a bit different and special in the CL - and he'd make a fortune from image rights through merchandise.}

{Ed025's Note - it is all relative jred...relative greed, all premiership footballers are millionaires most of them multi so i ask..how much money do people need? how many rooms do you need in your mansion?, how many ferrari,s do you need in the garage?, in these days of austerity, food banks and zero hours contracts it makes me sick mate..i will get off my soap box now.. :)

The England decision could well be taken out of his hands.
I don't see him making the 2018 wc squad if he is not a regular for his club.
If he goes to China I'm sure he won't make the wc squad.
But if he is a regular for another European team or the likes of Everton and doing well then he could well make that squad.
8 epl stays this season so far and onlya couple of epl goals makes it hard for Southgate to pick him for England. But most of his opposition for a squad place are not doing great with the exception of kane. Sturridge vardy and Co are hardly seeing the world alight. It's a tough call for rooney to make.
If he accepts a lesser role at United it hampers his England chances but not as much as China or the mls.
He is still contributing here when called upon and to be fair to him he has not rocked the boat since his omission from our team and that is to his credit.
It's hard to turn down the reputed 800k per week in China no matter what his current wealth status and it would be a great experience for him and his family.

He would be like a fish out of water in China ken, 800k is obviously obscene and it's hard to turn down but he would never be able to adapt to that culture in a million years, he would be miserable on and off the field in my opinion and that would outweigh the chances of him not going too going.
